“Win Them Over By Whatever Is Available – Even Upon Utilizing The Cunning Of The Serpent!”

“Neither wicked men nor devils can hinder the work of ‘God,’ or shut out ‘His’ presence from ‘His’ people, if they will, with subdued, contrite hearts, confess and put away their sins, and in faith claim ‘His’ promises. Every temptation, every opposing influences, whether open or secret, may be successfully resisted, “Not By Might, Nor By Power, But By My Spirit, saith the ‘Lord Of Hosts!”

The finite minds of men are inadequate to fully comprehend the plans and purposes of the “Infinite One.” To wise in their own conceit to search the scriptures with contrition of soul and earnest prayer for divine guidance, they have no shield from delusion. Satan stands ready to supply and deliver the heart’s desire of all who wish it. The plan of deception replaces the reality of truth.

Of the most successful agencies of the “Great Deceiver” are the divisive teachings and lying wonders of spiritualism. Disguised as an “Angel of Light,” he spreads his nets where least suspected. If only men would simply study the book of ‘God’ with earnest prayer, they might understand it; they would probably not be left to the darkness of receiving false doctrines…as they reject the truth, they fall prey to deception.

Many who have no real faith in God or in His word assent to some principles of truth and pass themselves off as Christians, are enabled to introduce their errors as scriptural doctrines.

Taking the position that it is of no consequence what men believe is one of Satan’s most successful deceptions. He knows the truth…he knows that the truth, received in the love of it, sanctifies the soul of the receiver; therefore he is constantly seeking to substitute false theories, fables, and another gospel.

From the beginning of man’s time on Earth, the servants of God have contended against false teachers, not merely as vicious men, but as inculcators of falsehoods that were (are) fatal to the soul.

The purposeful works of our great adversary is to confuse (the masses) minds so that they shall not discern the truth along with discord and division. Satan sees the Lord’s servants burdened because of the spiritual darkness of appetite or to some other form of self-gratification, and thus numbs their sensibilities so that they fail to hear the very things which they most need to learn.

Satan fully knows that all, whom he can lead to neglect prayer and the searching of the scriptures, will be overcome by his attacks. Therefore he invents every possible device to engross the mind in order to gain victory… Victory at all costs!”

“The servants of “Hell,” instead of following the truth, make it their business and religion to change the truth and seek some fault of character of error of faith in those whom they do not agree. They will put a false coloring upon the words and acts of those who love and obey the truth. In order to sustain erroneous doctrines or un-Christian-like, (un-Islam-like, un-Hebrew-like, un-Jewish-like, un-Buddha-like, un-Hindu-like, etc.,) practices, some will seize upon passages of scripture separated from the context, perhaps quoting half of a single verse as proof to their point of view.

With the “Cunning of The Serpent” they entrench themselves behind disconnected utterances construed to suit their carnal desires.

…Many will fully pervert The Word of God!”

This masterpiece…this successful accomplishment of Satan’s deceptions to keep the minds of men searching and conjecturing in regard to that which ‘God’ has not made known and which ‘He’ does not intend that we should understand.  And this is one of the reasons Lucifer lost his place in Heaven. He became dissatisfied because all the secrets of God’s purposes were not confided to him, and he entirely disregarded that which was revealed concerning his own work in the lofty position assigned to him. By arousing the same discontent in the angels under his command, he caused their fall from grace as well. He now (and continually) seeks to imbue the minds of men with the same spirit and to lead them also to disregard the direct commands of God.

The utter yet subtle and mischievous error is the fast spreading, wide-spreading, and possibly ubiquitous belief that Satan has no existence as a personal being; that the name is used in scripture merely to represent men’s evil thoughts and desires. Wordly wisdom teaches that prayer is not essential.

Men of science claim that there can be no real answer to prayer; that this would be a violation of law, a miracle, and those miracles have no existence. The universe, they say, is governed by fixed laws, and God Himself does nothing contrary to these laws.

The errors of popular theology have driven many a soul to skepticism. This is one object which Satan seeks to accomplish. There is nothing that he desires more than to destroy man’s confidence in ‘God’ and in ‘His Word’“The Word Of God!”

Satan stands at the head of the great army of doubters, and he works to the utmost of his power to beguile souls into his ranks. It has become fashionable to doubt.

Large classes of people look upon “The Word of God” with distrust. They are un-willing to obey its requirements and endeavor to overthrow its authority. They read the Bible and listen to its teachings as presented from the sacred desk, merely to find fault with the scriptures or the sermon. Many become infidels in order to justify or excuse themselves in neglect of duty. Others adopt skeptical principles from pride and indolence in order to distinguish themselves by accomplishing anything worthy of honor, which requires effort and self-denial. They aim to secure a reputation for superior wisdom by criticizing the Bible and just-thinking people.

Not only do they not realize that they are entangling themselves in the snare of the fowler, they feel that they must maintain their positions while openly expressing unbelief…that must be maintained. And with this, they have united with un-Godly intentions, closing the gates of paradise – denying them passage therein.

Neither wicked men nor devils can hinder “The Work Of God,” or shut-out ‘His’ presence from ‘His’ people. Satan can present a counterfeit so closely resembling the truth that it deceives those who are willing to be deceived.

The ‘Lord’ permits ‘His’ people to be subjected to the fiery ordeal of temptation, not because he takes pleasure in their distress and affliction, but because this process is essential to their final victory.

‘He’ could not, consistently with ‘His’ own glory; shield them from temptation; for the very object of the trial is to prepare them to resist all the allurements of evil.

Satan is well aware that the weakest soul who abides in ‘Christ’ is more than a match for the hosts of darkness – should he reveal himself, he would be met and resisted.

No woman, man, or child is safe for a day or an hour without prayer. Satan is an expert in quoting scripture, placing his own interpretations upon passages, by which he hopes to cause us to stumble.

It is certain that the devils have a profound knowledge of all things. No theologian can interpret the “Holy Scriptures” better than they can; no lawyer has a more detailed knowledge of testaments, contracts, and actions; no physician of philosopher can better understand the virtues of the heavens, the stars, birds, fishes, trees, herbs, metals, and stones.

Satan possesses great courage, incredible cunning, superhuman wisdom, the most acute penetration, consummate prudence, an incomparable skill in veiling the most pernicious artifices under a specious disguise, and a malicious and infinite hatred toward the human race, implacable and incurable!”

“It Is Better To Rule In Hell Than To Serve In Heaven!”

We should all study the (Bible, Qur’an, The Torah, E. G. White, etc.) ‘Holy Books’ with humility of heart and never losing sight of our dependence upon ‘God.’

While we must constantly guard against the devices of Satan, we should pray in faith continually:

“Lead Us Not Into Temptation!”

Being “The First People” we have been placed in a position, a time, and a place of “Infinite Proportions” that only ‘GOD’ can undo!

We have survived every assault that man has afflicted upon us and survived. We have survived this current ‘MAAFA’ as we (a diversity of good people, God-Loving People) will survive this atrocity that is afflicted upon us today, tomorrow, and into infinity…with “The Grace of God!”

“Oh Yeah, We Did It First! – The First Of Many Contributions By Blacks In The U.S.”

In an attempt to introduce evidence that contradicts many who have claims to being the first at inventing, creating, and the illusion of being the first at anything, while Blacks have been displayed or described at doing absolutely nothing at all. This premise encourages me to share some insight into the truth of whom it is that was actually first.

It was the book “Black Firsts” Two Thousand Years of Extraordinary Achievements by Sister Dr. Jessie Carney Smith, that actually planted the seed in my mind to publish something that adds heightened support to the contributions of Black People to the world at large.

Brother Deacon Ron Gray reinforced this innovative effort with his posting of “Black Inventors of the 20th and 21st Century!” This video also makes a profound statement with the mentioning of the book “Black Inventors” Crafting Over Two Hundred Years of Success by

Keith C. Holmes.

This project series will be presented in part, in order for those of us who haven’t a clue as to the importance of our people’s contributions in and to the United States as well as what we have introduced throughout the Whole World Wide!

There are many Black innovators who have not been included in the listing(s) due to lack of resource information.

Examples include the invention of ‘The Clock’ by Benjamin Banneker and the “Potato Chip” by George Crum and the first Black Woman Astronaut, Mae C. Jemison and Garrett A Morgan’s invention, the ‘Traffic Signal!

“We don’t know that things can be done, that dreams can be fulfilled, that great accomplishments can be realized, until somebody takes that first step and shows the way!”

~ Dr. Jessie Carney Smith ~

“What Is A Man/Woman Who Does Not Try To Make Things Better?”

Let Us Now Begin:

PART ONE:

“We all have our heroes and sheroes. For people who have been systematically important to remember and celebrate those who have won personal victories against the forces arrayed against them. This remembrance can take different forms. One is the folk tale. From Africa came tales of an animal – spider or rabbit – who, though cunning, triumphed over stronger predatory and dangerous animals. But apparent meekness was not the only strategy. Black people also celebrated, as openly as they dared the bold rebel who broke the bonds. Black folklore is a way of remembering in order to struggle against oppression and in the interest of building a community.

For many African Americans the first person to achieve a goal and gain recognition is ever so important as a symbol of hope and a beacon for the future. These woman and men become living proof that it is possible to crack what seems to be a monolithic system of oppression. P. B. S. Pinchback and L. Douglas Wilder are shining examples of men who joined the ranks of our heroes because they were the first to do what had never been done before by Black Americans. Pinchback was the first Black State Governor and held the appointed position in Louisiana from December 1872 to January 1873. More than a century would pass before Wilder became the first Black elected governor for the state of Virginia in 1990. Black Firsts records and celebrates the pioneers who displayed and continue to display great courage and perseverance in the face of odds that would discourage lesser souls.

Not all of the trailblazers encountered in Black Firsts set out to challenge the system directly. Many used their guile and courage to build and challenge the system directly. Many used their guile and courage to build and sustain the Black Community. And as a community, African Americans, no matter how oppressed, have always nurtured positive values that are then passed on to subsequent generations. Black Firsts records the names of African American women and men known to history who first formed the churches and built the schools and performed a myriad of other tasks without which Black Folks as a people could not have survived. In doing this, the book offers a sense of the richness of Black History and will perhaps inspire the ignorant of the forgetful to explore the past to gain insight for the present and strength for the future.”

~ Johnnetta B. Cole, President of Spelman College ~

Architecture:

1908 – Vertner W. Tandy, Sr., (1885-1949) was the first Black American architect registered in New York State. He designed Villa LeWaro, on the Hudson River, the mansion of hair care magnate Madame C. J. Walker.

Tandy also known for founding Alpha Phi fraternity at Cornell University.

1953 – Paul Revere Williams (1894-1980), was the first Black Architect to become a fellow of the American Institute of Architects. Certified in California in 1915, he designed homes and buildings for Hollywood luminaries. In addition to designing more than three thousand homes, ranging in value from ten thousand to six hundred thousand dollars, Williams served as associate architect for the fifty-million dollar Los Angeles International Airport.

1954 – Norma Merrick Sklarek (1928) was the first Black Woman registered architect. Registered in New York State and later in California (1962), she was also the first Black Woman fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 1980.”

Danny Glover & Larry Hamm on Black Lives Matter, Police Killings & How to Stop Donald Trump

In New Jersey, lawmakers have recently introduced legislation that would require the state’s attorney general to review every death at the hands of law enforcement. One of the key backers of the New Jersey legislation has been Larry Hamm, chair of the People’s Organization for Progress in New Jersey. We recently spoke to Hamm and actor Danny Glover in Philadelphia at the Democratic National Convention.

PART TWO:

Cartoons:

1910-George Herriman (1880-1944) was “The first Black” to achieve fame as a syndicated cartoonist. On July 26, 1910, the prototype of ‘Ignatz Mouse’ hit the prototype of ‘Krazy Kat’ with a brick. The strip ‘Krazy Kat’ was extremely popular in the 1920’s, especially with intellectuals, and continued with somewhat diminished success until July 25, 1944. Herriman was born in New Orleans in a family classified as Black, and the family moved to Los Angeles to escape racial labeling. Some of his friends called him “The Greek” but he never openly divulged his background.

1933-Elmer Simms Campbell (1906-1971) was “The First Black Cartoonist” to work for national publications. The St. Louis-born artist contributed cartoons and other art work to ‘Esquire,’ ‘Cosmopolitan,’ ‘Redbook,’ ‘The New Yorker,’ ‘Opportunity,’ and ‘Syndicated Features’ in 145 newspapers – (he was in nearly every issue from 1933 to 1958). Campbell created the character “Esky,” the pop-eyed mascot who appeared on the cover of ‘Esquire.’

1964-Morrie (Morris) Turner (1923), cartoonist and educator, created “Wee-Pals,” “The First Integrated Comic Strip in the World.” Influenced by Charles Schultz’s “Peanuts” and inspired by ‘Brother Dick Gregory.’ “Wee-Pals” became nationally syndicated and appeared in all of the large daily and Sunday comics. “Nippie,” the main character in “Wee-Pals” is named for the comedian ‘Nipsey Russell.’

1991-Barbara Brandon (1958) became “The First Black Woman Cartoonist” nationally syndicated in the white press. Her comic strip, “Where I’m Coming From,” appeared in the Detroit Free Press, and was acquired by Universal Press Syndicate in 1991. Brandon was born in Brooklyn, New York, and her father, Brumsic Brandon, Jr., was creator of the “Luther” comic strip which first appeared in the late 1960’s.

Circus:

1966-“The First Black Showgirl” with ‘Ringling Brothers Circus’ was ‘Toni Williams’ (1943) of Reading, Pennsylvania. Since then she has formed a trapeze act on her own.

1977-Bernice Collins (1957) was “The First Black Woman Clown with ‘Ringling Brothers.” The Kansas City native decided to become a clown when she was fourteen years old.

Adam said to his son Seth, “Thou knowest this world – that it is full of sorrow and weariness, and thou knowest all that has come upon us, from our trials in it. Therefore, I command thee to keep innocency, to be pure and just, and trusting in God; and lean not to the discourses of Satan, nor to the apparitions in which he will show himself to thee. Keep the commandments that I have given thee this day; then give the same to thy sons and daughters.

And so that this commandment abide firm among all your children; sever thy children and thy children’s children from Cain’s children; do not let them ever mix with those, nor come near them either in their words or in their deeds.”

PART THREE:

Dance:

1845-William Henry Lane (c.1825-52), “Master Juba,” was “The First Black Dance Star.” He took his stage name from the ‘African’ dance, the ‘Juba.’ In 1845, Lane won the title “King of All Dancers” after three challenge contests. He toured with three white minstrels, receiving top billing, and garnered acclaim for his 1848 performance in London. Lane died in 1852, without ever returning to the United States.

1923-In October, 1923, “Running Wild” was “The First Black Show” to introduce the ‘Charleston’ to non-Black audiences. After its appropriation by a white show in 1926, the dance achieved a world-wide popularity second only to the Black inspired ‘Tango,’ which came to Europe and America from Argentina. A third Black dance to achieve wide success in the 1920’s was the “Black Bottom,” which reached in “Dinah” at ‘Harlem’s Lafayette Theater’ in 1924. Both the Charleston and the Black Bottom were theatrical adaptations of dances known to Blacks in the South for a decade of more.

1932-Buddy (Clarence) Bradley was “The First Black to Choreograph a Show of White Dancers.” He was hired to prepare the London production of “Evergreen” for which he was in charge of sixty-four dancers. Bradley received full-credit in the program. His career from this time on was mainly in Europe, where he was an important figure in popular dance.

Hemsley Winfield (1906-1934) was “The First Black Dancer” to be involved in ballet. He choreographed and performed with his own company in the ‘Metropolitan Opera’s’ production of ‘Louis Gruenberg’s’ “The Emperor Jones.”

This was a one-time exception to the rules – management did not list the dancers in the program. The next Black dancer did not appear with the company until 1951. Winfield’s mother was a playwright, and he made his debut in one of her plays, “Wade In The Water” (1926). He became a dancer and a pioneer in Black concert dance, organizing the ‘Negro Art Theater Dance Group.’ This group gave its first concert on April 29, 1931, and appeared in ‘Hall Johnson’s’ “Run Little Chillun” in 1933.

1951-Janet Collins (1923-) was “The First Black “Prima Ballerina”” at the ‘Metropolitan Opera Company,’ a position that she held for three years. She made her debut in “Aida.” Collins was born in New Orleans on March 2, 1923, and her family later settled in Los Angeles. A graduate of Los Angeles City College and Arts Center School, Collins is known for her choreography and her dance instruction.

1958-“The First Black Dancer” in the country to become a member of a classical ballet company, the New York City Ballet, was ‘Arthur Mitchell’ (1934-). Born in New York City, Mitchell studied at the city’s High School of Performing Arts and at the School of American Ballet. He founded the “Dance Theatre of Harlem” as a school of dance – especially classical ballet for children, regardless of race. The first Black Classical Ballet Company in the United States, it made its debut at the “Guggenheim Museum of Art in York City.” In 1988 the company became the first Black cultural group to tour the ‘Soviet Union’ under the renewed cultural exchange program.

1963-Katherine Dunham (1910-) was the “First Black Choreographer” to work at the ‘Metropolitan Opera House.’ A dancer, choreographer, school founder, and anthropologist, she was born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and graduated from the University of Chicago and Northwestern University. Dunham incorporated her training in anthropology and her study of ‘African and West Indian Dances’ into her own techniques and dance instruction.

1984-The Alvin Ailey Dance Theater was the “First Black Modern Dance Troupe” to perform in the ‘Metropolitan Opera House.’ Founded in 1958 by ‘Alvin Ailey’ (1931-89), the troupe has performed before more than an estimated fifteen million people throughout the world. Ailey’s best known work, “Revelations,” based on his childhood experiences in Black Baptist Churches, was created in 1961. The dancer and choreographer was born in Rogers, Texas.

Dramatists:

1970-Maya Angelou (Marguerite Johnson, 1928), actress, dancer, and writer, was “The First Black Woman to have an ‘Original Screenplay'” produced, “Georgia, Georgia,” which she directed. Angelou was also “The First Black Woman to Have a Non-Fiction Work on the Best-Seller List.” Her autobiographical “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings” (1970) evoked images of a ‘Black Girl’s Childhood’ in the South, and was nominated for a 1970 National Book Award and aired as a television movie in 1979. An artist of wide-ranging talents, she was nominated for a ‘Tony Award’ for acting and a ‘Pulitzer Prize’ for poetry.

Charles Gardone (1925-), playwright, was “The First Black Dramatist” to win the ‘Pulitzer Prize’ for drama, for the play “No Place To Be Somebody.”

“The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States on account of Race, Color, of previous condition of servitude!”

“The 15th Amendment to the Constitution granted African American Men the right to vote by declaring that the “right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.” Although ratified on February 3, 1870, the promise of the 15th Amendment would not be fully realized for almost a century. Through the use of poll taxes, literacy tests and other means, Southern states were able to effectively disenfranchise African Americans. It would take the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 before the majority of African Americans in the South were registered to vote.”

Jessie Carney Smith that actually planted the seed in my mind to publish something that adds heightened support to the contributions of Black People to the world at large.

1949 – Daniel Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong (1900-1971), jazz trumpeter, was “The First Black” to preside over the ‘New Orleans Mardi Gras.’ Born in New Orleans, he learned to play the coronet and read music while in “The Negro Waifs Home for Boys.” Armstrong moved to Chicago and became one of the most influential jazz artists. A superb showman, he was known for his gravelly, growling vocal style. He acquired the nickname “Satchmo” in 1932 from an editor of “The Melody Maker.”

1988-The First National Black Arts Festival in the United States held in Atlanta.

FILM:

1902-“The First appearance of Blacks in film” came in “Off To Bloomingdale Asylum.” The slapstick comedy was made in France, and produced by George Melies. The Black characters were probably played by white actors.

1905-“The Wooing and Wedding of a Coon” is the earliest known American-made film with an “All-Black Cast.” A derogatory one-reeler, the film presented undisguised mockery of a Black couple.

1914-Sam Lucas (Samuel Milady, 1840-1916) was “The First Black” to play the title role in “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” on film. He had been “The First Black Man” to play Uncle Tom on stage in 1878. Born in Washington, Ohio, Lucas performed with major minstrel troupes, wrote one of the most popular minstrel songs of the 1870’s (Carve dat Possum) appeared in vaudeville, and starred in musical comedies, including “A Trip to Coontown” (1898). He is also known as “The First Black Composer of Popular Ballads.”

1915-Madame Sul-Te-Wan (1873-1959) was “The First Black American” to be hired by a major movie producer on a continuing basis. D. W. Griffith hired her after she worked on “Birth of a Nation.”

1926-Stepin Fetchit (Lincoln Theodore Monroe Andrew Perry, 1902-1985) and ‘Carolynne Snowden’ played in “The First On-Screen Black Romance” in the movie, “In Old Kentucky.” Fetchit, an actor and comedian, was to appear in films with stars like ‘Will Rogers’ and ‘Shirley Temple.’ He appeared in films in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The ‘Key West, Florida,’ native took his stage name from a race horse on which he had bet in Oklahoma, before he left for Hollywood in the 1920’s.

“The First Black Sound Film” was “Melancholy Dame,” a comedy two-reeler, starring ‘Evelyn Preer,’ ‘Roberta Hyson,’ ‘Edward Thompson,’ and ‘Spencer Williams’ of “Amos and Andy’ fame.

1929-“The First two full-length films with ‘all-Black’ casts” were “Hearts in Dixie,” starring ‘Daniel Haynes,’ ‘Nina Mae McKinney,’ and ‘Victoria Spivey;’ and “Hallelujah,” starring ‘Clarence Muse,’ ‘Stepin Fetchit,’ and ‘Mildred Washington.’ “Hearts in Dixie” was also  “The First Black-Oriented All-Talking, All-Singing film from a major company.

1940-Hatttie McDaniel (1895-1952), singer, vaudeville performer, and actress, was “The First Black To Win An Oscar.” She was named the best supporting actress for her portrayal of ‘Mammy’ in “Gone With The Wind.” McDaniel made her radio debut in 1915, and is said to be the “First Black America Woman To Sing On Radio.” Often called “Hi-Hat Hattie,” she was born in Wichita, Kansas, and moved to Hollywood in 1931. She made her movie debut in “The Golden West” in 1932, and appeared in more than three hundred films during the next two decades. Her career was built on the “Mammy” image, a role she played with dignity. In 1947, she continued the role in “Beulah” on the radio.

1944-The first United States Army Training film favorably depicting Blacks was made. It was designed to introduce Black and White Soldiers to the contributions of Black in military history. Frank Capra (the producer), among those who created “The Negro Soldier.”

1955-Dorothy Dandridge (1922-1965) was “The First Black Woman Nominated For An Oscar” in a leading role for her portrayal of ‘Carmen’ in “Carmen Jones,” a role she acted while someone else sang for her.

She was born on November 9, 1922, in Cleveland, and later moved to Los Angeles From 1937 to 1964, Dandridge appeared in a number of films, often typecast in the stereotypical roles commonly given to Black actresses. In 1951 she was “The First Black” to perform in ‘The Empire Room’ of New York’s Waldorf Astoria. “Island In The Sun,” a 1957 film in which she appeared opposite white actor ‘John Justin,’ marked the first time the theme of interracial love was explored in movies. ‘Harry Belafonte’ and ‘Joan Fontaine were also paired in this film. Dandridge returned to night club performances when her film career ended.

1958-“The First Black Male Nominated For An Academy Award For Best Actor was ‘Sidney Poitier'” (1924-) for his performance in “The Defiant Ones.” He was born on February 20, 1924, in Miami, and later moved to the Bahamas with his family. At age fifteen, Poitier returned to Miami, then went to New York City. He made his Hollywood debut in 1950 and won an Oscar for best actor in the film “Lillies of The Field” in 1963, becoming “The First Black” to win an Oscar for a starring role. In 1967 Poitier became “The First Black” to have his hand and foot prints placed in front of ‘Grauman’s Chinese Theater.’

1971-Richard Roundtree (1942-) became “The First Black Private Detective and Superhero” in a motion picture role in the trend-setting movie, “Shaft.”

Born in New Rochelle, New York, he attended Southern Illinois University on a football scholarship, but became interested in acting in a campus theater. In 1967 he was a model for the “Ebony Fashion Fair” and later advertised hair care products for Black Men in “Ebony Magazine.” After ‘Bill Cosby’ advised him to study dramatic arts in New York, Roundtree joined the “Negro Ensemble Company” and appeared in three off their productions.

1989-Euzham Palcy was “The First Black Woman Director” of a full-length film, “A Dry White Season,” for a major United States studio. Starring ‘Donald Sutherland’ and ‘Susan Sarandon,’ the film deals with apartheid in South Africa. Palcy was born in ‘Martinique.’

1992-Julie Dash (1952-) became “The First Black Woman Writer and Director” to have a feature-length film in national distribution. The film, “Daughters of The Dust,” is the story of one day in the lives of a Black Family living in “Ibo Island, South Carolina.”

John Singleton was “The First Black Film Director Nominated For An Academy Award” for the box office hit “Boys N The Hood,” starring rap artist ‘Ice Cube,’ ‘Cuba Gooding, Jr.,’ ‘Laurence Fishburne,’ and ‘Morris Chestnut.’

Although the film presents an anti-drug and anti-violent message, is sparked violence when it opened in several cities in the United States on July 12,1991.

Woody Strode, known for his groundbreaking roles in films, was “The First Black Inducted Into The Walk of Western Stars” at a ceremony held at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. Strode acted in such films as “Sergeant Rutledge,” “Posse,” and “The Ten Commandments,” with ‘Charleton Heston.’

…The History Goes On and On and On as “We” continually CONTRIBUTE, PROSPER, and GROW!

Yahshua/Jesus Once Said to the People:

“There was once a landlord who planted a vineyard. He rented it out to tenants and left home for a long time. When the time came to gather the grapes, he sent a slave to the tenants to receive from them his share of the harvest.

The tenants beat the slave and sent him away without anything. The landlord sent a second slave. The tenants shamefully beat him, wounded him, embarrassed him, and threw him out. He sent a third and the same happened to him.

The landlord thought what shall I do? I’ll send my son, they surely will respect him. He sent his son. When they saw his son coming – they said let’s kill him and his property shall be ours!

So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner do to those tenants? He will come and kill the tenants and give the vineyard to other tenants.”
~ “The Eye of Cain” ~
http://theeyeofcain.blogspot.com/

My friend, the late ‘Brother Ronald “Kenyatta” Edwin Reed, aided in my pathway to wisdom, knowledge, and a better understanding of that which is destined for us.

I was brought to a clear and profound sense of realization while relaxing and watching a few old classic horror movies. One of the vintage shows portrayed the image of ‘The Messiah’ as he is/was truly seen by those who are not of colored pigmentation. Oh yes, I was taken aback…surprised in fact that the church would depict a Black Man as a motif in the stained-glass murals or painted windows of such an establishment.

One of the movies was “The War of The Worlds” by H.G.Wells and the starring role headed by Mr. Gene Barry. The movie was produced in 1953. The other movie was “Taste the Blood of Dracula.” This particular version was released in 1970. The ‘Hammer Productions’ was a series of Dracula movies in which the starring roles cast Mr. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing as the good and bad guys during the fifties, sixties, and seventies movie-going era. It has been written and recorded by me as well as many other authors that Jesus is/was a person of colour!

We have often discussed the true description of the ‘Savior’ as we have known Him and should know Him, “The Messiah.”

“Saying, I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last; and, what thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle, His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and His eyes were as a flame of fire; and His feet like unto fine brass as if they burned in a furnace; and His voice as the sound of many waters.”
~ Revelations 1:11-15 ~

Kenyatta and I had enjoyed many an argument and agreement, as I shall truly miss his tutelage, inspiration, humor, support, and compassion…he remains in the memory, heart, and soul of this one who is one of his many admirers and friends.

This good brother, known for his belief in the “Hebrew-Israelite Movement” was born to the world May 11, 1947 and began his new life on February 18, 2016.

His Eulogy as depicted by His Family:

“On May 11th, 1947, a baby boy weighing in at 9lbs. and 14oz.s was born in Washington D.C. to William and Katherine A. Reed. The proud parents of this fine healthy boy named him Ronald Edwin Reed.

Ronnie was reared in a Christian home and atmosphere. He attended the High Street Church of God in Germantown-Philadelphia and participated in Sunday school, Church Services, Youth Fellowship Meetings, Youth Conventions, Boyertown Youth Camp and even Wednesday Night Prayer Meetings.

He was a student at E. C. Emlen Elementary School, Theodore Roosevelt Junior High, and graduated from Germantown High School with the Class of 1966. During his school years at Germantown, he played varsity football. He was a member of the Germantown Bears the year they won the 1965 All Public Championship Game.

“Rohney,” as he wrote his name, was a very gentle, tenderhearted young man. He served in the United States Army in Germany from 1966 to 1968 and received an honorable discharge as an SP-4. After returning home from the war he began to identify with the ‘Hebrew Israelites.’ He became a part of the “Black Power Movement” which was the call for the day in the early 1960’s nevertheless, his tender heart remained. Ronnie worked for the Veteran’s Administration Office and the United States Postal Service.

He met and married Corliss Campbell and out of this union they had five children. He was a tough but loving Dad. His children said their father loved to sing and has his music playing all through the house and even had them singing along. He loved all sports and even taught the neighborhood kids martial arts.

Ronnie had a passion for nature and loved to be outdoors. He became a craftsman and an artist using driftwood, seashells, and many other forms of nature to create beautiful pieces of art work. He went to the seashore collecting seashells and then to parks and woods looking for the right pieces of driftwood. He spent many hours meticulously carving and painting his beautiful pieces which were eventually sold.

In 2006, Ronnie attended a special service at the church he grew up in and a wonderful change took place in his life. He recommitted his life to Christ. He called his Mom and told her that the Messiah was now his Lord and Savior. Praise God!!!

In 2007, Ronnie was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and fought this disease with a passion. He never complained, never asked for assistance and carried his cross with dignity. Whenever asked how he was doing, he always had a positive response… “I’m fine” or “I’m cool!” For eight plus years he fought a good fight.

After a long friendship, eventually turning into a loving relationship, Ronnie remarried in 2010 to his lovely wife, ‘Imani Willie Towns.’

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His lovely wife, Imani Willie Towns; Mother and Father, William and Katherine A. Reed; two sons, Kenyatta K. and Koron K.; four daughters, Tanyikia Alston, Twanda Campbell, Teneeshi Campbell and Kimeesha Reed-Walker (Kenneth); and one step daughter, Briana Towns; five Grandchildren, Jorrell, Kennedy, Lanaeya, Mekhi, and Kenneth Jr.; his loving and faithful Brother, William Reed Jr. aka Abdul Malik (Sandra); two sisters, Deatra E. Seibert and Desma S. Johnson (Darryl Sr.); two uncles, Samuel McCoy and Van McCoy; one aunt, Crystal McCoy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a community of loving friends…of which I am truly proud to be included.

There is one major event not mentioned of my late friend…this Brother talked, walked, and marched with Dr. Martin Luther King during many of the Philadelphia protests of the sixties and (including the protests and marches after Dr. King’s assassination in 1968) seventies! There exists a copy of one of the marches exhibited on one of the pages of the printed version of this eulogy. I, like his family, remain very proud of that fact regarding my friend.

Albeit I shall miss him as I will all the days and nights that we, along with several other compatriots of “The Catharsis Table” (pg. 350 of “Hallow 2,” A Portentous Epoch of Sagacious Redolence and Epiphany); these villainous culprits may have conspired to keep the knowledge of Kenyatta’s death a secret from me. I say this because I am/was truly hurt and crushed that no one bothered to contact me with the news or notice of his death and funeral. The group who generally met on a daily basis, sitting around the table of Ms. Gerry’s House (Geraldine and Ronald Acoyx), including Edgar “Buddy” Johnson and Maurice Grobes, who were supposed to be friends of mine, did not seem to care that Brother Kenyatta and I had become very close.

We argued and discussed Politics, The Holy Bible, The Holy Qur’an, The Torah and the Truth while we learned more and more about one another and spirituality, holistically. I learned of his passing from another group of guys from the neighborhood. Although they were pretty cool dudes, ‘Ron’ and ‘Rayco’ of Baynton Street, they were not members of our so-called group at the ‘Catharsis Table’ in Gerry’s House. We happened to be talking about a few things when Kenyatta’s name came up. The guys starred at one another and remained silent. In the height of the warm April afternoon of noisy traffic and children playing, silence reigned over all. Their solemn and blank faces said it all too… “Your friend is dead – they buried him about a month ago!”

I’ve learned many things since knowing and experiencing this human being. Brother Kenyatta helped and actually inspired me to create the article, “We The Matrix” as recorded within the pages of “Spirit of the Soul and The Death of Morals,” pg. 290.

If he were here with us today, he would definitely be against the evil one who proposes to dominate the world while sitting in the chair of “The White House” that American Slaves Built! Election Day is upon us with the writing. I hope and pray that good conquers evil while continuing on with life’s everyday challenges.

His friendship, spirit, and teachings will remain with me always.

It is Our Privilege, Our Right, Our Responsibility, Our Destiny…VOTE AS IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED UPON IT! …BECAUSE IT DOES!

A Nourishing Of The 3rd Eye

“The Chakra”

Third Eye Chakra – Ajna

6th Chakra

http://www.chakra-anatomy.com/third-eye-chakra.html

The Third Eye Chakra transcends time. It is located in the brain, at the brow, above the base of the nose.

Third eye chakra:

The gift of this chakra is seeing – both inner and outer worlds.

The energy of this chakra allows us to experience clear thought as well as gifts of spiritual contemplation and self-reflection.

Through the gift of seeing we can internalize the outer world and with symbolic language we can externalize the inner world.

The energy of Ajna allows us to access our inner guidance that comes from the depths of our being. It allows us to cut through illusion and to access deeper truths – to see beyond the mind, beyond the words.

The “way of the third eye” is seeing everything as it is from a point of “witness” or “observer”, or from simply being mindful – moment by moment.

It means examining self-limiting ideas and developing wisdom that comes from a perspective that transcends the duality of good or bad, black or white. It means seeing and helping others to see the deeper meanings of the situations in their lives.

Sixth chakra is holistic in nature. When this chakra is fully activated, both hemispheres of the brain function in synchrony. The right hemisphere’s creativity and synthetic thinking is integrated and balanced with left hemisphere’s logical and analytical thinking.

The Third Eye is not only the seat of wisdom, but also a seat of conscience. This is where you not only see what is going on, but you also know what it means. This is where your sense of justice and your ethics originate.

When your third eye is open, you not only see but you also understand.

The Black American Poem

By

Smokey Robinson

http://www.slicksno.com/thalookout/the-black-american-poem.html

I love being Black. I love being called Black. I love being an American.

I love being a Black American, but as a Black man in this country I think it’s a shame that every few years we get a change of name.

Since those first ships arrived here from Africa that came across the sea there were already Black men in this country who were free.

And as for those that came over here on those terrible boats, they were called niggah and slave and told what to do and how to behave.

And then master started trippin’ and doing his midnight tippin’, down to the slave shacks where he forced he and Great-Great Grandma to be together, and if Great-Great Grandpa protested, he got tarred and feathered.

And at the same time, the Black men in the country who were free, were mating with the tribes like the Apache and the Cherokee.

And as a result of all that, we’re a parade of every shade.

And as in this late day and age, you can be sure, they ain’t too many of us in this country whose bloodline is pure.

But, according to a geological, geographical, genealogy study published in Time Magazine, the Black African people were the first on the scene, so for what it’s worth, the Black African people were the first on earth and through migration, our characteristics started to change, and rearrange, to adapt to whatever climate we migrated to.

And that’s how I became me, and you became you.

So, if we gonna go back, let’s go all the way back, and if Adam was Black and Eve was Black, then that kind of makes it a natural fact that everybody in America is an African American.

Everybody in Europe is an African European; everybody in the Orient is an African Asian and so on and so on, that is, if the origin of man is what we’re gonna go on.

And if one drop of Black blood makes you Black like they say, then everybody’s Black anyway.

So quit trying to change my identity.

I’m already who I was meant to be I’m a Black American, born and raised.

And Brother James Brown wrote a wonderful phrase, “Say it loud, I’m Black and I’m proud! Say it loud, I’m Black and I’m proud!”

Cause I’m proud to be Black and I ain’t never lived in Africa, and ’cause my Great-Great Granddaddy on my Daddy’s side did, don’t mean I want to go back.

Now I have nothing against Africa, it’s where some of the most beautiful places and people in the world are found.

But I’ve been blessed to go a lot of places in this world, and if you ask me where I choose to live, I pick America, hands down.

Now, by and by, we were called Negroes, and after while, that name has vanished.

Anyway, Negro is just how you say ‘black’ in Spanish.

Then, we were called colored, but shit, everybody’s one color or another, and I think it’s a shame that we hold that against each other.

And it seems like we reverted back to a time when being called Black was an insult, even if it was another Black man who said it, a fight would result, cause we’ve been so brainwashed that Black was wrong, So that even the yellow niggahs and black niggahs couldn’t get along.

But then, came the 1960s when we struggled and died to be called equal and Black, and we walked with pride with our heads held high and our shoulders pushed back, and Black was beautiful.

But, I guess that wasn’t good enough, cause now here they come with some other stuff.

Who comes up with this shit anyway?

Was it one, or a group of niggahs sitting around one day?

Feelin’ a little insecure again about being called Black and decided that African American sounded a little more exotic.

Well, I think you were being a little more neurotic.

It’s that same mentality that got “Amos and Andy” put off the air, cause they were embarrassed about the way the character’s spoke.

And as a result of that action, a lot of wonderful Black actors ended up broke.

When we were just laughin’ and have fun about ourselves.

So I say, “fuck you if you can’t take a joke.”

You didn’t see the “Beverly Hillbilly’s” being protested by white folks.

And if you think, that cause you think that being called African American set all Black people’s mind at ease…

Since we affectionately call each other “niggah”, I affectionately say to you, “niggah Please”.

How come I didn’t get the chance to vote on who I’d like to be?

Who gave you the right to make that decision for me?

I ain’t under your rule or in your dominion And I am entitled to my own opinion.

Now there are some African Americans here, but they recently moved here from places like Kenya, Ethiopia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Zaire.

But, not the brother whose family has lived in the country for generations, occupying space in all the locations New York, Miami, L.A., Detroit, Chicago… Even if he’s wearing a ‘Dashiki’ and sporting an ‘Afro.’

And, if you go to Africa in search of your race, you’ll find out quick you’re not an African American, You’re just a Black American in Africa takin’ up space.

Why you keep trying to attach yourself to a continent, where if you got the chance and you went, most people there would even claim you as one of them; as a pure bread daughter or son of them.

Your heritage is right here now, no matter what you call yourself or what you say And a lot of people died to make it that way.

And if you think America is a leader on inequality and suffering and grievin’, how come there so many people comin’ and so few leavin’?

Rather than all this ‘find fault with America’ fuck you promotin’, if you want to change something, use your privilege, get to the polls!

Commence to votin’!

God knows we’ve earned the right to be called American Americans and be free at last.

And rather than you movin’ forward progress, you dwelling in the past.

We’ve struggled too long; we’ve come too far.

Instead of focusing on who we were, let’s be proud of who we are.

We are the only people whose name is always a trend.

When is this shit gonna end?

Look at all the different colors of our skin…

Black is not our color. It’s our core.

It’s what we been livin’ and fightin’ and dyin’ for.

But if you choose to be called African American and that’s your preference, then I ‘ll give you that reference.

But I know on this issue I don’t stand alone on my own and if I do, then let me be me.

And I’d appreciate it if when you see me, you’d say, “there goes a man who says it loud I’m Black. I’m Black. I’m a Black American, and I’m proud”.

Cause I love being an American. And I love being Black. I love being called Black.

Yeah, I said it, and I don’t take it back.

“To Kill an American” (A Re-Post)

“You’ve probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

“An American is…”

“You’ve probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is. So they would know when they found one.

‘An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, Arab, Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as Native Americans…
An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion… For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American lives in the most prosperous
land in the history of the world..

The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.
An American is generous… Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.

When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan.

The national symbol of America, the Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America

some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001, earning a better life for their families. It’s been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world… But, in doing so, you would just be killing yourself – Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

During the late 40’s and early 50’s, ‘The Boulware*Butler Family’ migrated from…

Winnsboro, South Carolina:

“Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues,” an industrial folk song of the 1930s with lyrics typical of the Blues, refers to working in a cotton mill in this city. Textile mills were constructed in the area beginning in the late 19th century and originally workers were restricted to whites. The song developed after the textile mill had been converted to a tire manufacturing plant, reflecting the widespread expansion of the auto industry. The song has been sung by ‘Lead Belly,’ Pete Seeger, and other artists.

~ “The Difference Between Hebrewism and Judaism” ~

Hebrewism is the ideology of Hebraic reconstructionism which is the reconstruction and restoration of the ancient Hebraic religion.
There is also a religion called Judaism, a set of ideas about the world and the way we should live our lives that is called “Judaism.” It is studied in Religious Studies courses and taught to Jewish children in Hebrew schools.
Black or Ethiopian Jews also known as Beta Israel and sometimes called Falashas were virtually unknown, disrespected, and unrecognized in America.

While many of us don’t truly believe that the ‘Bible’ speaks to and of us, there exists the mythology and mysticism of who is and who isn’t a Hebrew or a Jew. Many believe that Judaism and Hebrewism is one and the same.

Well I’m here to tell you that belief is extraordinarily to the contrary – “It’s Not The Things You Know, its The Things You Know That Just Ain’t So!”

~(R.B., Philadelphia Black Talk Radio)~

Africa, Egypt, and Israel have hosted and sprouted a vast number of Black People and Hebrew Cultures that have transcended the worlds continents and its PEOPLE! Do you know who you are? From where You have come? Did you learn to become ignorant in America’s Scholastic Endeavor to KEEP YOU BLIND AND IGNORANT TO YOUR PAST, YOUR PEOPLE, AND YOUR HERITAGE?

Do not fear…there are those of us who know this and that about a few things that you, your children, friends, and families should know – Learn and Remember for the sake of your existence, future, and posterity!

/*
According to ‘Judaism 101,’ many people who call themselves Jews do not believe in that religion at all! More than half of all Jews in Israel today call themselves “secular,” and don’t believe in God or any of the religious beliefs of Judaism. Half of all Jews in the United States don’t belong to any synagogue. They may practice some of the rituals of Judaism and celebrate some of the holidays, but they don’t think of these actions as religious activities.

Hebraic Reconstructionism believes in the ideology of Hebraic reconstructionism which is the reconstruction and restoration of the ancient Hebraic religion. It is said that Hebrewism is very similar to Judaism, but is quite distinct at the same moment. Judaism is different from the ancient Hebraic religion and it derives its doctrine by rabbinic sources while Hebrewism rejects those sources and derives its doctrine by solely the Tanakh, also known as the Hebraic Bible. Our doctrine is more aligned with Karaism which solely believes in the Tanakh as well, but isn’t based on reconstruction of the ancient Hebraic religion, unlike Hebrewism. It could even be said Hebrewism is a sect of Karaism since most of our doctrine comes from it.

A Hebraic reconstructionist, or just Hebrew, Neo-Hebrew, Hebrewist, or Eberite for short, is someone who believes in the one true Elohim of the Hebrews, the reconstruction of the ancient Hebraic religion, and in the Torah, Nevi’im, Ketuvim, also known as the Tanakh. They believe all mandatory doctrine solely comes from the Tanakh and all other traditions are optional as long it does not conflict with the Tanakh. If they were already circumcised before, then they would just start following and interpreting the Tanakh in its plain meaning. If they weren’t circumcised before, then they would undergo circumcision and also follow the Tanakh in its plain meaning. If your former belief caused you to break the Tanakh, you would repent of your sins against it.

Hebrews believe in the one true Elohim of the Hebrews, the reconstruction of the ancient Hebraic Culture and religion, and in the Torah, Nevi’im, Ketuvim, also known as the Tanakh. We believe all mandatory doctrine solely comes from the Tanakh and all other traditions are optional as long it does not conflict with the Tanakh.

Who are Ashkenazic Jews?

Ashkenazic Jews are the Jews of France, Germany, and Eastern Europe and their descendants. The adjective “Ashkenazic” and corresponding nouns, Ashkenazi (singular) and Ashkenazim (plural) are derived from the Hebrew word “Ashkenaz,” which is used to refer to Germany. Most American Jews today are Ashkenazim, descended from Jews who emigrated from Germany and Eastern Europe from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s.

Who are Sephardic Jews?
Sephardic Jews are the Jews of Spain, Portugal, North Africa and the Middle East and their descendants. The adjective “Sephardic” and corresponding nouns Sephardi (singular) and Sephardim (plural) are derived from the Hebrew word “Sepharad,” which refers to Spain.

The Yiddish language, which many people think of as the international language of Judaism, is really the language of Ashkenazic Jews. Sephardic Jews have their own international language: Ladino, which was based on Spanish and Hebrew in the same way that Yiddish was based on German and Hebrew.

There are some Jews who do not fit into this Ashkenazic/Sephardic distinction. Yemenite Jews, Ethiopian Jews (also known as Beta Israel and sometimes called Falashas), and Asian Jews also have some distinct customs and traditions. These groups, however, are relatively small and virtually unknown in America.

Sephardic Jews are often subdivided into Sephardim, from Spain and Portugal, and Mizrachim, from the Northern Africa and the Middle East. The word “Mizrachi” comes from the Hebrew word for Eastern. There is much overlap between the Sephardim and Mizrachim. Until the 1400s, the Iberian Peninsula, North Africa and the Middle East were all controlled by Muslims, who generally allowed Jews to move freely throughout the region. It was under this relatively benevolent rule that Sephardic Judaism developed. When the Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492, many of them were absorbed into existing Mizrachi communities in Northern Africa and the Middle East, quotes ‘Judaism 101.’

Historically, it is also recorded that Sephardic Jews have been more integrated into the local non-Jewish culture than Ashkenazic Jews. In the Christian lands where Ashkenazic Judaism flourished, the tension between Christians and Jews was great, and Jews tended to be isolated from their non-Jewish neighbors, either voluntarily or involuntarily. In the Islamic lands where Sephardic Judaism developed, there was less segregation and oppression. Sephardic Jewish thought and culture was strongly influenced by Arabic and Greek philosophy and science.

Mizrachi: Descendants of Jews from North Africa and the Middle East

Research and discoveries unfold continuously revealing the nature and true origins of mankind, especially Black People. “The Hard Way”

By

Gregory V. Boulware, Esq.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

“The human body is more than 60 percent water. Blood is 92 percent water, the brain and muscles are 75 percent water, and bones are about 22 percent water.”

“While most of us make frivolous decisions about the differences and benefits of whether to use ‘Hard-Water or Soft-Water’ to suit our accustomed needs and comforts, there exists a small American Town that has not those luxuries…”

President Barack Obama said of the crisis, “What is inexplicable and inexcusable is once people figured out that there was a problem there, and that there was lead in the water, the notion that immediately families weren’t notified; things weren’t shut down. That shouldn’t happen anywhere.”

/*

On many occasions, I have heard many people complain about the rain. They have referred to it as “Bad Weather,” “A Bleak and Dismal Day,” or “It’s Just Horrible Outside With All That Rain!”

My question to you is ‘How Many of You Know of Anyone Who Can Live Without Water?’

Can You?

Back in the day, there was a movie made about contaminating the drinking water of a selected group of people in order to cull the herd, if not completely eliminating them. How many of you remember the movie “Three The Hard Way?” The film starred ‘Fred Williamson,’ ‘Jim Brown,’ and Jim Kelly.’ I can also recall that I’ve mentioned this film in reference not long ago in another posting. The film suggested a method to a pro-white group and/or groups of how to disseminate the hated target group of people who happened to be of color.

The covert scientists who worked for the hate group(s) came up with a chemical that would eradicate only the people of color – particularly ‘Black People!’ All one had to do was add this chemical to the drinking water supply of the targeted group. The hate group who happened to emulate the ‘KKK’ with the arm bands and brown-shirted uniforms of Nazi origins and regimes were dispatched to all of the U.S. cities with large Black populations. They were directed to go out to all the water reservoirs and add the time released chemical into the water at the water treatment plants and facilities.

The heroic threesome, who happened to hear of the plot by an escaped run-away near-dead young Black testing prisoner; took it upon themselves to save the people due to lack of response by the governing officials across the land.

If you had no clean, clear, and safe water to consume, what would you do? How would you live? Who would you blame for the catastrophe? How would you right this wrong?

In a little town in Michigan, there is an existing water crisis… The majority of its people are Black, Poor-Whites, and many other People of Color. Brother Al Sharpton has mentioned bathing. “It’s not just about the drinking water and the cooking water – what about the bathing water?” Flint Michigan’s water troubles began several years back – 2013 was when this disaster came to light. The governor and his cabinet are said to be the responsible party. The governor has since apologized and taken responsibility. But is it too little too late? Was this horrific situation purely an accident or a sinister and insidious plot to eliminate the problematic people of Flint Michigan and possibly other American cities and towns?

How did this come to pass – What caused this situation is the first place?

Let us start at the beginning…

~ The Flint Water Crisis ~

“The Flint water crisis is a drinking water contamination crisis in Flint, Michigan (United States) that started in April 2014.

After the change in source from treated Lake Huron water (via Detroit) to the Flint River, the city’s drinking water had a series of problems that culminated with lead contamination, creating a serious public health danger. The corrosive Flint River water caused lead from aging pipes to leach into the water supply, causing extremely elevated levels of lead. As a result, between 6,000 and 12,000 residents had severely high levels of lead in the blood and experienced a range of serious health problems. The water change is also a possible cause of an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in the county that has killed 10 people and affected another 77.

On November 13, 2015, four families filed a federal class action lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in Detroit against Governor Rick Snyder and thirteen other city and state officials, and three separate people filed a similar suit in state court two months later, and four more lawsuits were filed after that. Separately, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan and the Michigan Attorney General’s office opened investigations. On January 5, 2016, the city was declared to be in a state of emergency by the Governor of Michigan, before President Obama declared the crisis as a federal state of emergency, authorizing additional help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security less than two weeks later.

Four government officials—one from the City of Flint, two from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, and one from the Environmental Protection Agency—resigned over the mishandling of the crisis, and Snyder issued an apology to citizens, while promising money to Flint for medical care and infrastructure upgrades.”

‘Water Crisis in Flint, Michigan, Draws Federal Investigation’

By

Greg Botelho, Sarah Jorgensen and Joseph Netto, CNN

“The health effects listed in the class-action suit include: skin lesions, hair loss, and high levels of lead in the blood, vision loss, memory loss, depression and anxiety.

Keith John Pemberton and his wife, Jacqueline, who are in their late 60s, allege in court documents that they suffered property damage because of the corrosive water, loss of value in their home, skin lesions and “psychological disorders such as depression, chronic anxiety and an inability to cope with normal stress.” These conditions, according to the suit, were the result of bathing, washing and normal household activities.”

‘What Went Wrong In Flint’

By

Anna Maria Barry-Jester

“I drank the water for eight or nine months,” John said. “In the poor parts of town, those people drank it for one and a half years. Some still are.”

“Today, we know that those health concerns include poisoning from a well-understood neurotoxin: lead. That realization has led to international outrage, protests from Flint residents, and the resignation of several federal, state and local employees, though not as many as some Flint residents would like. More than a year after residents started sounding alarm bells, it’s now clear that employees at the state’s Department of Environmental Quality collected insufficient data and ignored the warning signs visible in what they did collect. In the process, they allowed the residents of Flint to be poisoned.

Dozens of Flint’s residents who had been gathering data and information for nearly a year knew something wasn’t right. While state and federal agencies almost obsessively focused on proving that they were meeting federal regulations, rather than taking a deeper look at whether Flint’s drinking water was safe, residents begged them to pay attention to the valuable data they’d collected through their bodies and research. There was power in finally having irrefutable proof, and finally having someone listen.”

‘Water Bills in Poisoned Flint an ‘Outrage,’ Attorney General Says’

by

Tracy Connor and Lisa Riordan Seville

Michigan’s top prosecutor said Monday that it’s an “outrage” that residents of Flint are being forced to pay for water that’s unsafe to drink — and his office may take action to stop the billing.

“Words can barely describe this tragedy. Things went terribly wrong,” AG Bill Schuette said. “I would certainly not bathe a newborn child or a young infant in this bad water and if you can’t drink the bad water you shouldn’t pay for it.”

Although the city has now switched back to Detroit’s water supply, health officials say so much damage was done that the water coming out of the taps is still not safe for children in the economically depressed city, where water bills average $140 a month, according to the Flint Journal.

Many residents of Flint — where 40 percent of the residents live in poverty and the average household income is just $25,000 — are relying on donated bottled water.

“The Heroic Professor Who Helped Uncover The Flint Lead Water Crisis Has Been Asked To Fix It!”

It was Prof. Marc Edwards, 51, who more than a decade earlier proved, along with an investigation by The Washington Post, that corrosion in the nation’s capital’s pipes had caused lead to seep into the water supply and pass through kitchen faucets and shower heads. After helping to expose that water crisis in 2004, he spent six years challenging the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to admit they weren’t being honest about the extent of the damage the lead had on children.

In 2010 it was proven that the CDC had lied to the public in a misleading report, which falsely claimed lead levels in the water had not posed a health risk to D.C. residents.

In April, 2015 a woman named Leeanne Walters, a Flint, Mich., stay-at-home mother who was getting nowhere convincing state and local officials that there was something seriously wrong with the orange-tinted water coming out of her tap. Her family’s hair was thinning. Her son’s skin was red and irritated. They told her the water was perfectly safe. And even months later, when it had been determined there were high traces of lead in her water; the officials shrugged it off as an isolated problem.

Desperately, she called Edwards, whom she had read about online. Over the phone, he walked her through how to take her own water samples. The next day she sent them FedEx to Edwards to test. It was the worst lead levels he had ever seen.

Bruce Lanphear, a professor at Simon Fraser University and also an expert in lead toxicity, said Edwards not only studies the impact of lead in water, but he makes his testing available to communities in need, like he did in Flint.

“Flint Water Almost Like ‘Gas Chambers for Jews!”

says ‘Al Sharpton!’

http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2015/03/al_sharptons_national_action_n_2.html

“While an investigation is obviously needed, it remains to be seen just how thorough this will be and whether or not there are any conflicts of interest involved. In the meantime, the residents of Flint — majority African-American and 40 percent who are below the poverty line — continue to suffer. Last week, Gov. Rick Snyder stated in an interview that the water crisis was his “Katrina.”

“Democratically elected officials were displaced and replaced with emergency management people who cut a deal and sent contaminated river water that corroded pipelines and exposed residents to toxic levels of lead. Gov. Snyder’s administration ignored this problem since 2014, and in terms of direct action, politics and policies, the Flint crisis might just be even worse than Katrina.

In areas like Flint and Detroit, there is a history of emergency managers taking control of Black cities from local authorities. When that local power is taken away from city councils, mayors, etc., the residents have less input over decisions that directly impact them and their neighborhoods. As the citizens of both Flint and Detroit will often say, the emergency managers are more concerned with cutting costs than with the actual welfare of the community. In Detroit, some schools are still suffering both academically and financially after emergency management failed to resolve issues and failed students and their families. In Flint, drinking water became contaminated with lead in April of 2014 and Gov. Snyder did not declare a state of emergency until Jan. 5 of this year. That is simply outrageous and a grave miscarriage of justice.”

“If they cannot drink it, cook with it and more, why should they have to pay for it? And who is going to pay for the health costs of all of those impacted by this tragedy? These are long-term issues that must be dealt with, but before we even get to that, the crisis itself must be resolved. The people of Flint are still suffering with no clear answer as to when their water will be safe again. And while we welcome an independent investigation, there must be accountability, period.

On February 3, Gov. Snyder will appear before Congress, and many of us will be outside and visible, because the citizens of Flint are not invisible and they deserve justice.”

…Meanwhile, here in ‘Philly’:

“WEST PHILADELPHIA MAN & FRIENDS TAKE 50K BOTTLES OF WATER TO FLINT!”

By

Chad Pradelli

A West Philadelphia man and his friends have taken their own action to make an impact on the Flint water crisis.

It started with a phone call.

“They said, ‘Hey Neo, we got to do something for Flint, Michigan.’ I said, ‘What do you want to do?'” Nehemiah Davis said.

What they’d do – despite a blizzard, despite 600 miles of roadway, and despite little money – is pack two huge trucks with bottled water and deliver it to the people of Flint, who’ve been poisoned by lead tainted water.

They made it happen in just a couple of days.

“People came up and, literally, we had 500 to 600 cases on the ground. We wound up renting another U-Haul,” Davis said.

Nehemia and his partners had an initial goal of delivering 10,000 bottles of water to the needy people of Flint, but instead he delivered 50,000 bottles.

“For us to be able to provide them water so their kids could bathe, so their kids could drink, so their kids could brush their teeth with good water, it was just awesome,” Davis said.

WATER

The transparent colorless liquid, H2O, which falls from the sky as rain, issues from the ground in springs, and composes three-quarters of the Earth’s surface in the form of seas, rivers, and lakes, etc. – Pure water is odorless, tasteless, transparent (although bluish in bulk) and relatively incompressible. It has a high specific heat and poor electrical conductivity. Under standard pressure it freezes (with slight expansion) to ice at 0oC and boils at 100oC giving steam. The density is a maximum at 4oC, where it is taken as exactly 1gm/cm3. Water has the chemical composition H2O, ionizing as H2O=H+OH.

WATER AND EARTH

Three-quarters of the Earth’s surface is covered with water, yet 98 percent is salt water and not fit for consumption.

Less than one percent of all the water on Earth is freshwater available for human consumption.

WATER AND HUMANS

*  The human body is more than 60 percent water. Blood is 92 percent water, the brain and muscles are 75 percent water, and bones are about 22 percent water.

*  A human can survive for a month or more without eating food, but only a week or so without drinking water.

WATER CONSUMPTION

*  3.9 trillion gallons of water are consumed in the United States per month. (AWWA Journal, June 2006)

*  The average American uses 176 gallons of water per day compared to 5 gallons of water the average African family uses each day. (www.water.org)

WATER PRICES

“The price of water is increasing–sometimes dramatically–throughout the world,” writes Edwin Clark, II in Earth Policy Institute’s latest report. Over the past five years, municipal water rates have increased by an average of 27 percent in the United States, 45 percent in Australia, 50 percent in South Africa, and 58 percent in Canada. In Tunisia, the price of irrigation water increased fourfold over a decade. Yet consumers rarely pay the actual cost of water. In fact, many governments practically (and sometimes literally) give water away.

The average American household consumes about 127,400 gallons of water during a year. Homeowners in Washington, DC, pay about $350 for that amount of water. Buying that same amount of water from a vendor in Guatemala City would cost more than $1,700.

The price people pay for water is largely determined by three factors: the cost of transportation from source to user, total demand, and price subsidies. Treatment to remove contaminants also can add to the cost.

A key step in moving toward more rational water management is to place a price on water that reflects its value and scarcity. Although pricing water at a reasonable cost can generate political problems in the short run, it can lead to substantial efficiencies in the longer run and eliminate drainage on government budgets. Higher prices will lead households, farmers and industries to use water more efficiently. Just as the oil price shocks of the 1970’s stimulated energy conservation, so too could pricing water to better reflect its real cost stimulate similar conservation efforts.

What if it is true that some para-military-militia group has decided to take matters into their own hands by addressing the “Problem People?” What if the said group(s) has decided that a plan of action…a plan of such magnitude is feasible? Would you believe it? Would Law Enforcement Officials believe it if you went to them with a story such as described in the movie, “Three The Hard Way” or of a similar pre-conceived nature?

~ Do You Believe in the possibility of such a ‘Terroristic Threat?’ ~

Water…the liquid gold of life. How we have taken it for granted… What would you do if you were the victim of ‘Flint Michigan’s’ crisis? Would you sue the government, the city, the world? How about the president? …Or would you invest every resource at your command to conserve and find more of the precious life giving fluid?

Maybe the next time it rains, snows, hails, or sleets, you will not be so eager to call it bad or foul weather.

When was the last time you drank water from the tap? Was it good-tasting? Did it make you sick? What was the color of your tap water if you live in the city? What is its’ color if you live in a rural area of the country? Is the advent of bottled water a pre-conceived plan of some sinister plot or government entity?

All of the citizen groups who have banded together and pooled their efforts to help the residents of Flint Michigan and those who suffer a similar circumstance are too be commended for their humanity.

The next time you step into the shower and take a drink of nice clean and clear water, think of the folk in Flint Michigan and those around the world who cannot partake the pleasure of plain simple water.

The Conch Shell:

An emblem of power, authority, and sovereignty, whose blast banishes evil spirits, avert natural disasters, and scare away poisonous creatures.

“A Legacy of Money Cannot Replace A Heritage of Dignity!”

If there were advanced races in the galaxy…even by the standards of western writers, they would, at some point…destroy themselves – if the technological advancement far outweighed their own spiritual development and cultivation.

The primary of spirituality over technology is the key to comprehending how Africa accomplished what it did.

The knowledge resides in the womb of a rejected people and a (their) way of life. Thus, Africa reminds ‘US’“Man (Woman) Know Thyself!”

Planning – Organizing – Staffing – Directing – Controlling

Human Skills – Technical Skills – Conceptual Skills

IT/BI

History continues to show America and the World has always been rescued, salvaged, and resuscitated by people of color. One of the many world wars was rescued by African Americans with the knowledge and ability to step up to the plate – Lead, Direct, Teach, and Set Examples for ALL.

Albeit, the prediction, the prophesized, the anticipated time has come to pass, I wonder how many will now clutch their handbags when I walk into an elevator; when I stand or sit beside them?

“Yes We Can” has changed to “Yes We Did” which has morphed into “Our Time Has Come!” “The Time Is Now!” Many Black (Persons of Color) personalities and leaders who were labeled as such, have said it in the past, “We Can’t Wait” have found the wait to be well worth it.

“THE TIME HAS COME!”

Less we forget, one must take pride in ones-self in order to gain the respect of others.

In light of the events that have, I think, brought pride, belief, and hope back into the life-line of the American Populace; I was reminded of some text that was shared among a few of my colleagues while studying at the Berean Institute. The author was unknown. I have attempted to locate this person who wrote a profound passage that has and shall remain engrained in my mind and I think in the minds of a few others as well. The following passage resonates with many men (and women) of color as well as the identification of the text therein:

“The Un-Obscure”

http://blackinamerica.com/content/114073/the-un-obscure

Will our profound and promising direction make a change as well as an impression; an example for the entire world to see the truth of it? Will the overcoming of inhibition make a difference… a correction in the lives…in the minds of people? We shall see!

One of the rules of marketing is to promote goods, services, or ideas.

The marketing concept as we know it did not always exist. It has evolved over the years. The value created in the process is when marketing makes a good service available where the consumer wants it. The number one priority is to produce a good to keep up with demand. One definition of marketing is a group of interrelated activities designed to identify consumer needs and develop, distribute, promote, and price goods and services to satisfy these needs. Buying and selling, are activities that relay products to their intended users. Each consumer buys for his or her personal use or needs, while other parties must perform buying functions that lead up to the final sale.

Marketing has value to both businesses and consumers. The customer and the customer’s needs come first.

Tavis Smiley of ‘PBS’ boasted of ‘Self-Publication’ of all his books and media material. So it should be obvious that he is a proponent of self-publication. This practice allows the author true ‘authorship’ and ownership – ‘Sole Propriety’ of his or her material. Selfie Renditions are today’s norm for many authors and writers. The wide open free range of the Internet allows for such activity without the reigns of publishing house approval especially if you are of the so-called underprivileged section of the universe. People/Authors who are well-to-do have published their own materials almost forever without the approval of publishing professionals worldwide. “Starving Artists” are almost always seeking the backing of promoters, publishers, editors, and silent partners to market their wares in the quest for publicity and profitability.

“Self-Promotion is essential to the self-published author as much as it is to conventional authors who are promoted by their publishers.”

Many authors of yesteryear were basically self-published. They didn’t have a real choice in the matter. There wasn’t money to pay professional printers to publish and promote their messages. William Still and many other self-educated pioneers did “Selfies” to get the word out to the community. Many “Free-Press” operations were self-published authors and promoters in their own right. They got the word out without the generalization of professional printers, publishers, or promoters – they did it themselves. Many of these “Grass-Root” groups did have some equipment that aided in their publishing endeavors. Others simply relied on supporters who had the know-how. Either way, the word got out to the intended audiences – and they did it their way.

Within the world of information technology / computer science, the structures, formats, platforms, applications, hardware, and/or vendors are service oriented architecture based programming. The programming is designed to meet the needs and/or offer some type of business service. Be it entertainment, news media or query data. Information and the business of information apply. Technical skill sets include knowledge and ability to use, the process, practices, techniques, and tools of the specialty area of software/hardware expertise.

“You do not need to have a degree in IT or BI to be successful in IT, but you do need to have an interest and an aptitude for math and logic. In fact, many if not most of the people that I have worked with as application programmers, software engineers, database administrators and systems analyst do not have computer science degrees.

Many either minored in CS (like me), have degrees in engineering or life sciences. In most cases, opportunities are given based on skill level and not educational background.”

I believe it’s much worse than that. “The Great Recession is officially over!” Haven’t you heard the good news? The American populace is suffering in the worst financial crisis since the “Great Depression.” It’s simply amazing how someone or some entity is constantly trying to sell you and me something. This contribution is worth the while…A must have edition to your library. A timeless tool for the young and not so young – Man, Woman, and Computer!

“Hallow” contains several short stories of the occult, science fiction, English lit, and the macabre… “Demon’s Throat” is a thriller that will take you to the edge of your seat with a twist that only a woman could love – maybe a man or two as well. This story has never before been seen or released anywhere else…

“They (the machines) were dependent on solar power. It was believed they would be unable to survive without an energy source as abundant as the sun.” “What is control?” “No one cares how it works, as long as it works!” The tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi were forced out of the Land of Israel around 70 AD. This was due to the Hebrew-Roman wars that resulted in the deaths of thousands of Black Hebrew Israelites. Primarily women, men, and children were slaughtered by an over powering Army of Roman soldiers and conscripts in their Empire domain. The remnant of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi fled primarily to West Africa to escape death and prosecution around 70 AD.

“So you’re telling me is all we needed is a ‘C-4’ pack and a couple of whirly-bird yahoos to dispose of this beast, is that right Mr. Agent?” Glenn wasn’t even looking at the man. He was looking at the hole and burn scene while his gazing glances took his focused view to the ledge above. The bomb exploded with a thunderous Earth trembling boom… The flash and whoosh of the after affect caused the gas cloud to evaporate. The heat from the blast cooked the pavement, the rocks, the foliage and trees, the air and everything in a circle of about fifty-five to sixty feet. The blast and burn was a perfect circumference – a perfect and complete circle. Albeit, the blast erupted and expired as planned by the security team, there was no target. It was utterly and completely gone. They couldn’t find anything, not one bone or hair sample.

A National Guard chopper swung in overhead. It carried a large satchel. The bag contained explosives…C-4 Plastique. The bomb was much like the one used on the ‘MOVE Compound.’ Move harassed and demonized an entire community in West Philadelphia. Prior to Osage Avenue, the city had a running gun battle with MOVE when the organization occupied a house and mini-fort in ‘Powelten Village,’ also in West Philly, not very far from Osage Avenue. A cop was killed and many of the MOVE members went to jail. The authorities blew up and burned an entire neighborhood, killing several men, women, and children in the offensive assault on the building the group occupied on Osage Avenue. The tragic incident occurred under the administration of a very well-liked mayor, a few decades ago. The order went out to “Blow His Ass to Smithereens!”

“Well Dr. Caldwell, what do you think is wrong?” “I’m not sure… I might need to do a more thorough investigation to the problem at hand.” “Doc, can you please tell me what the nature of the problem is…?” “I don’t know.” “But Doc, what do you know?” “The one thing that I do know is…I don’t know. Do you know how many people are willing to admit they don’t know something?” “No Doc, how many?” “I don’t know.”

Many people on the planet profess to know just about everything.

There are those who know it all. There are those who know absolutely nothing but boast to the contrary. Haven’t you met people who know everything about anything and everything about everybody? Sure you have… You’ve wished that they would shut the hell up and be quiet. You’ve wished for certain persons to go away or learn to shut their mouths before they speak… Even better still, just shut your mouth and don’t say anything at all to anybody. I want to learn something!

“Politicians Be Damned – Statesmen Are Needed!”
IM000268

By
Gregory V. Boulware

‘What Defines a Republican, a Democrat, a Politician, or a Statesman?’

What is a ‘Republic’ as opposed to a ‘Democracy?’

How many of us have actually met or spoken to a “Black Republican?” Would you know of one who actually represents you and your community? What about the Asians, Latinos, Native Born Indians, and other non-white groups? How about Black Tea Party Members?

Would you believe it if I told you that Dr. Martin Luther King, Frederick Douglas, or George Washington Carver were staunch Republican Members and Supporters of the party?

Maybe you might think that I’m completely ‘crazy’ or ‘off-my-rocker’ to say such a thing. But, I’m here to tell ya – oh yes, it’s true!
However, they also stood up and fought for us – they tried to educate our people on the country / world economics, political clout, held and maintained a strong-ness in our (your) beliefs.

One such portal to education, economical strength building, and political clout was the now gone, ‘Philadelphia Berean Institute!’

“The Jewel In Our Community” would have/has turned One Hundred and Sixteen Years Old. It was founded in 1899 on the original site of 1901 Girard Avenue, in the heart of North Philadelphia. The Rev. Matthew W. Anderson, one of the first Black Graduates of Princeton University developed a school for the economically disenfranchised masses of Southern Blacks who migrated to the North in droves without the education, economical savvy or political clout it took to prosper in the predominantly white power structures of the country’s northern cities.

Back then, students were taught and trained in plumbing, carpentry, dressmaking and tailoring professions.

Today (pre-closing), the school teaches accounting, business administration, electronics, paralegal services, data processing, computer science and repair, secretarial science, cosmetology and barbering, among a host of other available educational programs. The college (post 1900) specialized in Career Certification and Associate Degrees. Students who qualified for the courses either had to possess a high school diploma of G.E.D.

The courses have changed (from past to current) while the mission continued. Dr. Spencer, who was ‘Dean’ when I attended, said:
“The main goal is to keep tuition affordable and create a state-of-the-art campus. We hope to expand our campus by 2005 with the addition of a new building, right across from the existing building on this very site.”
That dream never came to pass.

In a 10 year span, Berean Institute had graduated more than two thousand students. That’s an average of about two hundred graduates per year – with the majority being ‘Black Americans.’
The school, barbering and cosmetology, the two main professions where Blacks could always become successful entrepreneurs, were offered; continued to peer into the future by tackling and taking head-on the premise of a national shortage of computer technicians or technology workers. The Government Educational Grant of $2.8 million federal dollars was received by Berean to offset the danger to the economy. Ney-sayers accused the government of allowing foreigners to come into the country for those American Jobs – the open computer industry tech vacancies.
“We got this grant to try to offset that, so companies can’t keep saying, ‘we’ve got to go overseas.’ We have many needy people (and who are needed) right here in North Philly who can be trained to fill those jobs,” said Dr. Norman K. Spencer.

The Berean Institute facility has also played host to a number of community affairs and a meeting place as well as being a place of educational upgrading. The Million Woman March was germinated here in 1997. Additionally, other Philadelphia chapters of alumni groups, Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) have utilized the facility for their activities and affairs.
Where is this significantly needed institution now? What has happened to this sorely missed and needed Black College? Was its demise simply greed and corruption or some politically motivated ingenuity?

In Philadelphia, republicans (media reporting records) are outnumbered nine to one, and African American Republicans are outnumbered by a ratio that’s too ridiculous to bother mentioning.

That doesn’t mean Black Republicans don’t exist. Here in ‘Philly,’ there is a group called ‘The Philadelphia Republicans of Color (the Philly ROC). Believe it or not, some African American candidates do run for political office in this city – as Republicans.
“Philly’s Black Republicans are often scorned by both political constituencies,” said a weekly Philadelphia newspaper. “Whenever the white republicans wanted to post a Black face in opposition of Our Sitting President – ‘Obama’ – they were always lead around like they were dogs, like puppets on a string. They were portrayed as controllable window dressing.”

“The democratic party must be defined by what it stands for,” shouts Brother Al Sharpton. “Too many centrist democrats have moved the party to the right. As demonstrated by the past and recent elections. The base of the democratic party has felt abandoned by the many – so-called minorities, women, progressives, and young people.”
Brother Al was one of nine 2004 presidential candidates who happened to be Black. Another candidate of color was a female. Her name is Sister Carol Moseley Braun. She and Brother Al were some of George Bush Jr.’s harshest critics.
“The Bush Administration has been a disaster – Americans have lost and continue to lose jobs. Many are without healthcare, and the republican president has given massive tax cuts to the richest one percent in our society,” says Braun.
Reparations are likely to be addressed by these two African American Candidates. Carol Moseley Braun states her support for reparations. She says it should not be forty acres and a Lexus, but a program that brings Americans together to resolve the nation’s contradictions between the society’s commitment to equality, opportunity, and how so-called minorities are actually treated.
“Education is the silver bullet; we need to rebuild crumbling schools!”

Brother Al addressed an agenda that was apparently forgotten by the republican lead team – public education. Sharpton proposed a two dollar an hour increase in the country’s minimum wage debacle. He also says America should address the disparities in the criminal justice system, eliminate racial profiling, and to make sure that appointed judges on the bench are not insensitive to women and people of color.
“Too many political figures want to direct public resources to private education via the voucher system. We cannot afford to write off the majority of America’s children. And I would have a foreign policy that recognizes that we, Black People, are part of the global village – whether you want us or not! America should be an international healer not a bully,” says Sharpton.

Carol Moseley Braun’s credentials include a law degree, a term in the US Senate, and was ambassador to New Zealand. She was the only former diplomat in the presidential race that year. Carol’s experience, in addition to the aforementioned, also show that she served as a State Representative and the Cook County Recorder of Deeds – she was the only candidate who proudly served both levels of government; local and state.

Al Sharpton was the only candidate who has never held public office. His contentions are that his leadership skills are far from lacking.

Al’s plan is to connect with the people. The candidate has spent many weeks on the road pushing his agenda. He has gone to college campuses, churches, grass-root communities, and to the streets. He said “That’s where the people are!”

“Do you really think that Black folk would struggle through slavery, carrying bags, talking about ‘we shall overcome’ and all those kinds of things; that a little voter ID issue would have actually stopped us from registering for the vote? Only a fool would think that Black folks wouldn’t go out and do what they need to do when they think their rights have been threatened!” says a Black Philadelphia Republican.

“We (Black Republicans) love President Obama! We, at least I, think it was great that he’s an African American person who has made it to the level of being recognized as being the First Black President.”
Another Black Philadelphia Republican rationalized what Paul Ryan mouthed during an interview while campaigning for vice-president.
“I think it’s cool that we have our first African American Presidential candidate.”
If one can or could believe in that sincerity, ‘Willie Lynch’ would make a great candidate too.

A third Black Republican told of how he caught all kinds of negativity for broadcasting his respect for the then candidate; President Obama!
He said that he had to go off and checkmate just about everybody in the building.
“Did they think that they could actually tell me how to think? We believe in politics and we believe in our platform, but let’s keep in mind that we’re all part of the human race and we’re all Americans, and Obama is our Commander-in-Chief!”

One of the three interviewed Black Republicans thought republicans should do what Malcolm X did. That exercise is to go out into the field and rap to the people. He added, if Malcolm were here today, he’d probably say go out into the field and rap with the people.
“Ya know…we as Republicans have to stop that… We have to speak with the people and not to them or at them. I hear a lot of people in the Tea Party say they don’t understand why (so-called) minorities don’t become republicans. Did anyone question the fact that Martin Luther King was a Republican? No one cares!
Half of em don’t even know about that. I don’t believe they actually care either. Folks are tired of white republicans talking from D. C. and Harrisburg while not even bothering to go to the neighborhoods and speak with the people.
It should be very important that republicans focus on recruiting and speaking with our neighbors and getting the word out. The other thing is the need to show up at the community meetings. They don’t see us in the neighborhoods, we don’t exist there.
And we as African Americans need to understand that we’re dominant in many of the world’s major sporting competitions and the music industry. What is not understood is why we have an open door opportunity in this city to take over a political party – we just sit and cuss and fuss to deaf ears.

The Republican Party needs to understand that the demographic sands are shifting very quickly right under our feet. And it is highly possible this party will cease to exist by 2016.
Republicans need to become more sophisticated. We are no longer working on a local, state, or national platform. We are working now toward a global economy.
The Party has by-passed the Black Community and gone straight to Latino’s, knowing the Hispanic Population has increased drastically and continues to grow.
Republicans feel that Blacks are so indoctrinated with the Democratic Party for so many years, they’re a lost cause and they’d have a better chance with the Spanish population because they are not so ingrained.”

Another spin from Republicans is the worry concerning Blacks in the Democratic Party using a famous named person on the ballot, while a bad incumbent who hasn’t done anything outside or from inside an official political position, hides behind the so-called famous person on the ballot. The premise is that we’re going to go in and vote for everyone on this list because our so-called famous person is on here as well.
These are some of the reasons that we as Black Entrepreneurs have become Republicans. We tell people to stop hitting the one lever; the straight lever, voting for the entire list. We don’t want our people to be duped of hoodwinked either by Democrats of Republicans.
“An excellent opportunity has presented itself for the Republican Party. However, they have not taken advantage of it because we are Black,” said another Philly Party member of color.
“We are not acknowledged as much as we should be – we’re put on the side until needed – and that needs to stop.”

Many Black Philadelphians have never met a Republican in the first place, let alone a Black one. Republicans have traditionally been demonized in many Black households. One of the Black Republicans related his first experience in South Philly’s Wharton Street Center. He painted a vivid picture of his first contact while chairing a community based board at the center.
The Wharton Street Community Center has an historic and proudly rich history relating to Abolition, Quakers, and Slavery – according to the chairman, back in 1982 a lady came up to him and asked if he’d like to make history. She said they wanted to hold a meeting of Black Republicans at the center for the first time. The chairman, then a Democrat, was set aback.
“A Black Republican” I had never seen or heard of a Black Republican!

He itched with the curiosity and enthusiasm of seeing and meeting a one. He did not even ask them for rent money. He just wanted to see if these particular human beings existed. He said that he was surprised at how many actually showed up.
“I was stunned and flabbergasted! I sat in the back of the room because I was a Democrat. The gentlemen who entered the hall were very well dressed, mannerly, and neat. They were not drunkards or ‘Uncle-Tom-ish’ either. They just appeared to be well-to-do regular Black Men preparing for a community Town Hall Meeting.
Then, in walks this tall light-skinned Black Man. He was very well dressed in a bright yellow satin shirt, silk tie of gold, and a beautiful maroon colored semi-pin-striped suit. He was followed by neatly dressed happy faced rotund white guy. They stepped right in front of the group and announced the disbanding of this meeting.” The Chairman continued his story.
“The two men were local Republican Party Officials. They said to everyone present ‘you’re not having a meeting her tonight’ – I was shocked – ‘you all don’t have the proper permission to do so.’ The next thing I knew, the group got up and left the building without comment or complaint.
That’s when I said to myself, they need someone like me in there. That was my first contact with the Republican Party – on the Black side.”
The third Black Philly Republican expressed his first-hand experience.
“We had to go to the state party on three different occasions. It started for me then. It was 2010 when I ran for governor. My position was:
“If you have a complete compliment of other candidates listed on the Republican Website, we, the Black Candidates ought to be listed there as well!” expressed the Philadelphian.
“After the first 2010 episode, I switched from being a Republican to an Independent. The following year, I converted back to Republican because it was where I felt comfortable. Becoming an Independent has proven to be a very lonely experience.
In 2012, I was asked to run for the second Congressional Seat. After I relinquished the run, and agreed with them to do so for the US Senate Race. In reality, I understood that I didn’t stand a chance in hell of winning.
In order to help the Party, the best thing that I could do for the Black Republicans was to run for the seat and raise the profile of the party – even in the face of the United States President.
My campaign allowed a strategic decision to oppose the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. When that was done…all hell broke loose and everybody went ape-shit crazy. All of the Republicans, the Tea Party, etc., were going behind our back, saying that I’ve decided to drop out of the race; they recruited another candidate. I was called “RINO” by the Tea Party. They said that I was un-American, I was anti-American, and pro Obama.

Back in the 1970’s, I was asked to join ’The Junior Police’ by a back-in-the-day politician. He suggested that if we, my ‘Homies’ and me, supported his campaign; would be able to go into the police academy; and when we graduated we could look forward to sitting and working behind a desk until we turn twenty-one.

In Pennsylvania, back then, you weren’t allowed a gun until age twenty-one.

The bastard, after the election, turned right around, and every Black person who helped him by running him around in and throughout the neighborhoods, introducing him, bringing him into the Black Churches and all…screwed us in every way possible! I could not, for the life of me, understand why. I wasn’t particularly politically savvy back then. But I finally did figure it all out and finally got it. Someone was decent enough to ‘Hep’ me to what it was he did. He threw us to the side; under the bus; out onto the street; in the garbage – we had suddenly become a load of shit; taboo, refuse, the discarded shredding. This is the problem I had with the Republican Party!
They wanted to use, and use us again, and again. And once they did that and got what they needed from us, it was to hell with you and your kind – not caring or thinking about tomorrow or the future for that matter.”

The Eldest participant in this discussion stood up and walked over to a nearby window. The glazed look upon his face brought an abrupt, yet insidious disposition when he espoused a bitter memory.
“We all have to remember, up until the 1940’s; African Americans weren’t allowed into a general hospital in any given city, town, or borough in the country. We had to go strictly to a Black only hospital or get delivered by a midwife. If the midwife didn’t keep any treatment, birth, or death records, you didn’t have a record of birth. Fifty percent of Black Senior Citizens living today do not have a real or original certificate of birth. Many simply didn’t know where their birth certificates were. Republicans counted on that when they proposed the ‘Voter ID Act. If you can remember, in 1956, the Hall of Records in Philly caught fire and was burned to the ground. Of course, the fire destroyed a whole bunch of people’s birth records. So how is the Voter ID law supposed to be fair to those people?”

The second of the three interviewed Black Republicans stated if the Republicans had come to us, any of us – and said:
“We want you to help us defeat this Democratic President. The color of his skin doesn’t matter.” He stood up from his chair with a smirking smile upon his face and continued speaking.

“We’d have responded – ‘At this particular time, going against President Obama, a Black Man – I think you’d better think again.’” He continued speaking after re-seating. “What they did was not include us or anybody in their decision making – to not even ask us what we think or thought!
When it came to pass, we…I laughed. I laughed at what they’d done with the Voter ID Law because in knew that Black Folk are primarily moved by emotion. But, when you think you’re going to take something from Black Folk, that’s when we become your worst nightmare. I knew we were going to be a nightmare to Republicans because only a fool would think that Black Folks wouldn’t go out and do what they needed to do when they think their rights and liberties are being threatened – that was surely the dumbest of moves.”

All three interviewees agreed. The second Black Republican Party Member chimed, “That’s one of the reason’s I try not to disrespect the Commander-In-Chief by referring to the ‘Affordable Care Act’ as “Obamacare!” It is not Obama Care! Republicans have told me ‘we’re not voting for you because you don’t stand for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act!’
Well, don’t vote me – idiot!
They are contradicting themselves by chastising Chairman Harris for making a comment about respecting the ‘First African American President of The United States.’ First of all, you need to understand, most of my heroes do not appear on a damn stamp. If you really want to know – in reality, W.E.B. Dubois and Frederick Douglas were the ultimate Republicans!
Now what is a Republican?
If I had to distinguish myself between a Frederick Douglas Republican and a Reagan Republican, one could firmly believe the choice would be a Frederick Douglas Republican!”

My way or the highway?

It’s okay to be a Republican or a Democrat without compromises. But you need to come to the table – the art of legislation is about compromise – not the ability of receiving rewards for contempt and complete stupidity. Will you not exercise your right of choice and vote for the best candidate that you see fit?

We shall see…

It rapidly gained power in the north and held its first National Convention in 1856. Lincoln became the first Republican President in 1861. The Republicans held the presidency from then until 1913, with the exception of the administrations of 1885-89 and 1893-97 of Cleveland.
They were weakened by the secession of the Liberal Republicans 1872 and the ‘Mugwumps’ in 1884.
In the late 19th century the Republican Party favored ‘Protective Tariffs’ and the ‘Gold Standard.’ After the administrations of Theodore Roosevelt and Taft (Taft-Hartley Act), the secession of the ‘Progressive Party’ split the Republicans 1912. They returned to power in 1921-23 under Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover, but were blamed for the economic crisis of 1929 and were out of office until the administration of Eisenhower, 1953-61.

The party too it’s present name and developed its organization during the presidency of 1829-37 of Jackson.
The Democrats won all presidential elections except three in the period of 1800-1860. They were split in 1854 over slavery, became associated with the ‘Slave-owning South,’ and were out of office after the Civil War.
Campaigning for lower Tariffs, they were again in power 1885-89 and 1893-97 under Cleveland, and 1913-21 under Woodrow Wilson. Under Franklin D. Roosevelt 1933-45, the Democrats were identified as the ‘Reform Party’ with the new deal. They remained in office until 1953, and regained the presidency in 1961, but lost in again in 1968.

“The One Thing I Know Is…”

In the Lab

“Well Dr. Caldwell, what do you think is wrong?”

“I’m not sure… I might need to do a more thorough investigation to the problem at hand.”

“Doc, can you please tell me what the nature of the problem is…?”

“I don’t know.”

“But Doc, what do you know?”

“The one thing that I do know is…I don’t know. Do you know how many people are willing to admit they don’t know something?”

“No Doc, how many?”

“I don’t know.”

The quote from the title refers to what the character, ‘Dr. Caldwell’ of the hit television show of the seventies fame, ‘Sanford and Son, uses in response to questions he doesn’t have the answers to.

Now, this author doesn’t practice the art of knowing everything…just makes attempts at trying to know about anything and everything. If you can dig it!

“The one thing that I do know is…How to Understand Technology!”

Business Intelligence (BI) and Information Technology (IT) virtually, methodically, and basically go arm-in-arm. Students who are majoring in business, i.e., administration, management, marketing, accounting, etc., will find that BI and IT have morphed into one entity. One does not do without the other.

http://ezinearticles.com/?IT-and-BI&id=714057

When a program or a computer is not operating the way that it is supposed to, we take steps to correct them…we want it fixed. When a person is sick or not behaving the way that one should, we call a doctor or a particular professional to make things right again, right? Well a patch is what IT pros (and non-pros) use to make corrections to the program or computer. They fix the things that are wrong in the program or the computer. Many would rely on a computer geek to get their PC’s up and running. That’s one of the reasons that IT personnel rely on updates to offset the possibility of glitches or malfunctions. In the case of the Matrix movie, “Neo” can be described as the patch, the thing or program that is sent to make things right. One could also interpret the Neo program as the ultimate program or an upgrade. What would the purpose of the all-seeing, all knowing Oracle represent? Can it be viewed as an “All Mighty Being?”

The cloud as we know it; a metaphor for the Internet based upon how the Internet is depicted in computer network diagrams; is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided. SaaS (Service as a Software) over the Internet, as I’ve mentioned in previous postings, is the driving force.

It definitely takes new tactics and skill sets in order to acquire a position in the new world of IT, Communications, and Analytics. Sentiment Analysis is gauging the mood of Social Networks and is being incorporated by companies monitoring Community-Driven Websites.

The jobs creation claims it’s logical for Microsoft to point to the cloud providers. Tech vendors plan to double its’ workforce this year. They’re saying cloud and mobile applications are giving birth to millions of U. S. jobs.

That perplexing boast causes me to wonder; if that’s the case, why is the national unemployment rate at record highs? The United States Unemployment numbers read between eight and ten percent. These numbers are devastating to the U. S. economical system.

A Few Tech Definitions From A to Z:

ActiveX:

A loosely defined set of technologies developed by Microsoft. ActiveX is an outgrowth of two other Microsoft technologies called OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) and COM (Component Object Model). As a moniker, ActiveX can be very confusing because it applies to a whole set of COM-based technologies. Most people, however, think only of ActiveX controls, which represent a specific way of implementing ActiveX technologies.

Ad Hoc:

Description of Research Group:

An ad hoc network is an autonomous system of routers (and associated hosts) connected by wireless links–the union of which form an arbitrary graph. The routers are free to move randomly and organize themselves arbitrarily; thus, the network’s wireless topology may change rapidly and unpredictably. Such a network may operate in a standalone fashion, or may be connected to the larger Internet operating as a hybrid fixed/ad hoc network.

This group is concerned with the study of Ad hoc Network Systems (ANS). Ad hoc networks are complex systems, with cross-layer protocol dynamics and interactions that are not present in wired systems, most prominently between the physical, link and network (IP) layers.  The IETF community and the wider research community could benefit from research into the behavior of ad hoc networks that would enable advanced routing protocol development. This research group will endeavor to develop sufficient understanding in topic areas of interest to enable the desired protocol specification work.

ADJUDICATION:

Administrative Law; to resolve legally, rulemaking, investigation and enforcement, administrative process. The administration of law by administrative agencies.

/TERM/D/DDL.html

Short for Data Definition Language, DDL is a computer language that is used to define data structures. In Database Management Systems (DBMS), it is used to specify a database scheme as a set of definitions (expressed in DDL). In SQL, the Data Definition Language (DDL) allows you to create, alter, and destroy database objects.

(EZT)

PHP:

PHP is responsible for powering an extraordinarily large segment of the Web, driving significant parts of many of the world’s most trafficked websites, among them Facebook and Yahoo. Facebook’s reliance on PHP is so great that they’ve even gone so far as to create Hip-hop for PHP, a utility that converts PHP code into highly optimized C++, resulting in the ability of the Facebook API tier to double its performance while reducing CPU usage.

Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS)

Attacks The Problem:

There are several tools being distributed on compromised computers that allow vandals to remotely control those computers to launch attacks rendering a victim’s computers inoperable. The attacks of several prominent Web sites during the week of February 6-12, 2000 used these Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack tools. The nature of the attack is such that it is very difficult to stop and next to impossible to prevent single-handedly. Some sites have experienced several days of downtime while trying to restore services.

The core problem is the existence of the compromised computers used to create the attack

Diversity Training, The Do’s and Don’ts

Summary Diversity training can improve the company’s bottom line. Tailor diversity training to your needs. Don’t tolerate harassment or weak diversity efforts.

Before you roll your eyes and groan the next time your boss announces a diversity-training workshop, consider this: Diversity training, when conducted properly and under the right circumstances, can dramatically improve not only employee relations but a company’s bottom line.

Pupils need every available edge when it comes to studies, whether they know it or not. They should take advantage of every bit of information available, i.e., research articles, white papers, periodicals, magazines, and yes…blogs.

“I was working as a ‘Database Insurance Analyst’ for an insurance company in Blue Bell, Pa., in a contractor capacity, when I wondered what would happen if someone hadn’t shown me how this all worked, you know, computers. I was highly prepared to “hit the ground running” when I walked in the door!”
