When was the last time that you’ve washed your hands properly? What about the person next to you at the sink in the restroom – did she/he wash their hands properly? Did they wash their hands at all? How about the guys and gals who are serving your food at the counter or the person who prepares your order? Did they wash their hands?

 

Overview

 

“You’ve probably heard people talking about the stomach bug or stomach flu going around at work or your child’s school. But what exactly is it? The technical term for this sickness is viral gastroenteritis, which is an inflammation of the stomach and intestines.

 

Food poisoning is different. It’s more common than the stomach bug. About 1 in 6 Americans, or roughly 48 million people, experience food poisoning each year.

 

Stomach Bug Vs. Stomach Flu:

Symptoms of a stomach bug

 

If you have the stomach bug, or viral gastroenteritis, you may have one or more of the following symptoms:

 

diarrhea

stomach cramps

nausea

vomiting

a fever

weight loss

joint aches

muscle aches

 

Stomach bug and stomach flu are both terms for viral gastroenteritis.

People typically develop stomach bug symptoms within 24 to 48 hours of being exposed to the virus.

 

Symptoms of food poisoning:

 

Typical symptoms of food poisoning include

stomach cramping

fatigue

diarrhea or constipation

a fever

chills

muscle aches

headaches

sweating

thirst

general malaise

 

In severe cases, you can have:

 

bloody stool or vomit

severe abdominal cramping

shock

a loss of consciousness

 

The symptoms of food poisoning usually appear two to six hours after initial exposure. Symptoms typically don’t last longer than two days. Food poisoning can occur in anyone, but it is most common in babies, young children, and the elderly.

 

Symptoms of dehydration

 

After several days with either the stomach bug or food poisoning, you may develop dehydration. Watch for the following signs and symptoms of dehydration:

 

a decrease in urine output

dryness in your mouth or throat

dizziness when standing

dry diapers

a lack of tears in babies and toddlers

low blood pressure

a lack of tears

excessive thirst

dark urine

dizziness, especially with standing

 

Babies may have sunken eyes and fontanels. The fontanel is also known as the soft spot. You should seek medical attention if any of these symptoms occur.”

 

 

My experiences with “Food-Poisoning” began a while back when I consumed so-called healthy peanuts, cashews, and a bunch of assorted nuts purchased from the grocery store. Now, many of us simply enjoy these types of healthy snacks and use them in abundance.

 

But when you come down with a sudden attack of vomiting and/or diarrhea, you often wonder if you’ve caught a stomach bug or if you just ate something bad.

 

“The viruses, bacteria, and parasites that cause gastroenteritis are often food borne, so most of the time you did eat something bad. In all cases you ate the germ. They are considered to be types of food poisoning. They are contagious, so food poisoning from them is contagious. Spinach contaminated with e.coli, berries contaminated with norovirus, and cantaloupe, sprouts, and peanuts contaminated with salmonella are examples of contagious food poisoning. You can also catch these illnesses directly from other people and it usually takes at least 24 hours after ingestion to get sick. (Norovirus can occasionally strike as early as 12 hours after exposure.) However, if you have gotten sick (started vomiting) within 8 hours of eating a questionable food item, then you may have regular non-contagious food poisoning. Non-contagious food poisoning occurs when you eat some food that has been improperly stored (or sat out too long) and bacteria have grown on it. The bacteria produce toxins that make you sick (even if you reheat the food the toxins will still be there).”

‘Caveat Emptor’

 

 

Grocery shopping at the neighborhood supermarket like ‘Shop-Rite,’ ‘Acme,’ ‘Save-A-Lot,’ or ‘Fresh Grocer’ will temp you into buying more than you’ve planned.

 

The prospect of “Food-Poisoning” is an often overlooked occurrence in the conversations of many. The topic usually comes up if and or when one is personally affected by this common disease.

 

How many times do you think the average citizen purchases a “Fast-Food” product in her or his daily routine at work, play, or some other away from home activity?

 

Often times, we in our daily activities run into fast food establishments to pacify our lusty cravings for a Burger, a slice of Pizza, a Cheesesteak, Hoagie, or that fresh piece of Southern-Fried Chicken or Fish; and of course the all-mighty “French Fry!” Maybe you’ll top it off with a ‘Diet Soda,’ a ‘Salad,’ or a “Milk-Shake” or two from the nearby “Micky D’s” or “Burger King?” Not to mention the neighborhood corner store who happens to make a sandwich or two on the side.

 

Now that we’ve touched upon the quickie-snack-fix, what about the sit-down at the table or booth enticement? Oh yes, the food-bug also punches people in the belly in these so-called safe eatery environments too. Have you ever been to an ‘i-Hop,’ ‘Applebee’s,’ ‘Olive-Garden,’ ‘Red-Lobster,’ ‘Chi-Chi’s,’ or ‘Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.),’ ‘Mexican,’ ‘Jamaican,’ ‘African,’ and/or ‘Middle-Eastern’ cuisine? I’m sure that you have. These fine places are some of our favorite places of pleasingly opulent consumption.

 

Have you ever been sickened at or by one or some of the delicacies of these types of places? What about that “rumbly-in-the-tumbly” sensation that maybe caused a bit of dizziness or that over-powering urge to make a mad dash to the nearest ‘john’ (toilet those of you who are not familiar with john)?

 

What did you do, think, or feel when everything inside you suddenly, unavoidably, and violently forced its way up and out of you…the top and/or bottom? If you’re one of the lucky ones, you’ll have missed the fever, aches, and chills that commonly accompany this sort of ailment. This often food-borne suffering can be deadly to those who are aged, sickly (immune deficiencies, etc.), and very young. Many people of this group simply do not have the physical capacity to fight off sudden ailments like ‘food-poisoning.’ Many elderly folk are commonly consumers of prescription medications that act in the nature of suppressants to these individuals. Sea-Food allergies pose the number one threat to people of this group.

 

Some years ago, I suffered an attack of such magnitude after consuming a couple of burgers from a Germantown burger joint. I’m sure that this food intake was the culprit of my ailment because I’d eaten nothing but that particular meal throughout that entire day. As soon as I’d arrived home, I began to feel woozy and shaky. Later that night, fever set in. I was fine. I did feel fine up to and not long after eating those burgers. It was approximately four, maybe five hours after consuming the food is when I realized what I’d done or what it was that made me feel sick.

 

This series of events put me down for two and a half days. Sure, I should have notified the restaurant of this misadventure with their cooked product. But I felt it would have been a lost cause because they wouldn’t believe me anyway. I was convinced that I would be beating a dead horse with explanations from the manager as to why their food was safe and bacteria free even though the entire staff is younger than my Grandchildren.

 

On a recent occasion, I believed that I was sickened by eating a cheese burger product from a well-known fast-food establishment boasting of arches. Again, the sandwich was the only food that I’d consumed within the entire day. It was a filling sandwich that held my hunger in check for the entire evening and night. Early the next morning however, was an entirely different experience.

 

When the tide of illness had departed me on the next day, I was hell-bent on revenge to the fullest! “I’m going to make them pay for this!” I vowed. Oh yes, I planned to confront the manager and threaten action if I was not brought to satisfaction.

 

…But then upon speaking with one of my sons via the telephone, he disclosed the fact that my grandson experienced the identical symptoms that I displayed a few days before. And then I remembered all of the others in my immediate family who have also displayed symptoms of the same or of some similarity…

 

This recollection delayed my visit to the fast-food establishment. Now I was not sure of whom

it was that was the guilty party in my unfortunate encounter.

 

I still think it is a very good idea to make contact with the restaurant or fast-food business where you made a purchase should you, someone you know, or a loved-one becomes ill after consuming a product. After all, all it takes is just one employee to not follow the safety rules and guidelines to make someone who is being served ill. How many times have you witnessed someone who is preparing fast-food not washing his or her hands – what about the utensils that they are preparing food with? Is all of the tools, i.e., knives, spatulas, etc., being cross-contaminated on the serving or cutting boards?

 

We as citizens come into contact with thousands upon thousands of other individuals on any given day. We have a personal responsibility to ourselves, loved ones, and the general public at large to be aware of what you can do to prevent contamination while practicing safe hand-washing and the prevention of potential disease spreading dangers.

 

With this last ‘quick-food fiasco,’ I do think my road will slow in the consumption of fast food. Albeit, I can truthfully say that I will probably eat out again (not in the near future though) as the aforementioned places do offer that “get-out-of-the-kitchen” break and/or the let’s grab a bite mentality after a night out, a show, or late meeting availability. The fast food industry has its place and I dare say will not be going anywhere any time soon or in the near future.

 

We simply have to be aware of our ability to make sure that we are and remain safe when eating out and at home.

 

Treating A Stomach Bug

 

“Dehydration is a serious concern for people who have the stomach virus. Watch for the symptoms of dehydration. You should seek medical attention if any of these symptoms occur.

 

Make sure you get plenty of fluids. Adults should drink fluids with electrolytes such as Gatorade for adults, and children should get fluid replacement solutions. These drinks coupled with water will help restore the body’s hydration balance. For best results, drink about 2 to 4 ounces every half hour to an hour. Don’t drink fruit juice or sodas. These liquids don’t replace lost electrolytes.

 

If you have a mild case of food poisoning, it may respond well to rest and fever-reducing medications. If you have a severe case, your doctor may give you steroids to help with heart and muscle issues.

 

Food Poisoning Vs. Stomach Flu

 

If you are trying to determine if you have contagious gastroenteritis (a stomach bug) or just ate some bad food, you must think back about what you’ve done in the past few days. If you have been around someone in the past 2 weeks who was sick with a vomiting and/or diarrhea illness, then you most likely have what they had (a contagious stomach bug). If you haven’t been around anyone who has been sick (that you know of), but you ate a yogurt that looked funny, a turkey sandwich that was left on the counter all afternoon, restaurant food (rice, salad, dipping sauce, etc. etc.), then you might have non-contagious food poisoning.  If you got sick within 7 hours of eating the suspected food, and felt fine shortly thereafter, you probably have regular food poisoning and are not contagious. If it has been 24 hours or more since you ate the suspected food item than you probably have something contagious. It is usually very difficult to be sure which illness you have. So, if you are not sure, err on the side of caution and assume you are contagious. No matter what you think you have, be sure to call your doctor if you think you are seriously ill.”

According to the ‘Hebrew (and others as well) Scriptures,’ Nimrod was a bold, strong, and boisterous King of Babylon. This man ‘Nimrod,’ is/was the Son of Cush, Son of Ham, and Son of Noah who was the son of Lamech, and son of Methuselah.

 

Albeit, Brother Nimrod was the fiercest and mightiest of warriors, he held a god-like tendency. He wanted men to bow down to him and not to “The Most High.” Have you ever wondered why prayer was removed from public schools and many public gatherings? Have you ever wondered why only certain religious holidays are observed while others are not in today society?

 

The meaning of his name is supposed to mean “Rebel” according to the Hebrew verb ‘marad.’

Adding an “n” before the “m” it becomes an infinitive construct, “Nimrod.” (See Kautzsch 1910: 137 2b, also BDB 1962: 597). The name Nimrod could have also been the derisive term of a type, a representative of a system that is or could have been described as a system that is epitomized in rebellion against the Creator, the One True God.

 

The Holy Bible (and other Holy Books as well) records the civilizations after “The Great Flood.” It has been said that a well-known tale of a man who fits a certain type as described by the Babylonians, the Assyrians, The Hittites, and the Sumerian’s as ‘Gilgamesh,’ aka, “Nimrod!”

The immigrant who sits atop the ivory, glass, and steel tower ruling over the land filled with immigrants refused the admission of ‘fresh immigrants’ into “The Land of Milk and Honey.” He has no need for the offerings of “The White House.” It’s his house alone that rules!

 

Now this man claims all of the fame that is due other men (and women). He claims the praise and humbled prayers due to ‘The All-Mighty” from men (and women) at all times.

The Wise Josephus said “Here is precisely what is found in the Gilgamesh epics. It was Gilgamesh who set up tyranny; he opposed “Yahweh” and did his utmost to get people to forsake “Him.”

 

Although Babylon was said to have reached its zenith under ‘Nebuchadnezzar’ in the 6th century, the kingdom was started by Nimrod. Modern day Iraq along with its ancient wall lines and canals was also known to have been one of Nimrod’s kingdoms.

The one who sits upon the throne of the “Nation of Immigrants” has put the Nation of Iraq on notice along with North Korea and Australia while locking the gates at the heartland’s border to African Countries of Islamic Faiths. The land filled with oil is and has been a major temptation for those who profess to rule over all – “The Power(s) That Be!”

The “Tower of Babel” is attributed to its builder, Nimrod. The structure was given major thought as it was no “Straw, Wood, or Brick House” type of building built by the ‘Three Little Pigs.’ The best way to understand the “Ziggurat” is to know that it was built by ancient Egyptians as an “Assyrian Mountaintop.” With a temple atop, the Ziggurat was a man-made structure intended as a place to worship the host of Heaven.

Before the Lord, Nimrod grew up to become a mighty warrior and hunter. There are many who believe this to be a good thing, a compliment to Nimrod. Well, it’s just the opposite.

 

As previously mentioned, the sons of Ham were ‘Cush;’ his siblings Mizraim,’ ‘Put,’ and ‘Canaan.’ After the flood, the land of “Shinar” was developed. The survivors after the flood became the citizens of Canaan, the ‘Canaanites,’ Mizram, the ‘Egyptians,’ and what most scholars consider “The Land of Shinar” to have been ‘Sumer,’ where Cush resided. The Babylonian Flood Story is told in the Eleventh Tablet of The Gilgamesh Epic with about two hundred lines of text on maybe twelve clay tablets that are inscribed in ‘Cuneiform Script.’

 

Cuneiform Script is one of the earliest writing systems in the world of ancient times. It was invented by the Sumerians of Mesopotamia. The distinguishing features are the wedge-shaped marks on clay tablets made of a blunt reed for a stylus. Its name simply means “wedge shaped.”

 

“Kish” was the first kingdom established after the Great Flood. The kingdom of Kish appears quite often on many clay tablets that have been discovered by archaeologists. Research shows that “Kingship” descended from the heavens to Kish after the Great Flood. The Hebrew name of “Cush,” which came a bit later, was moved to present-day Ethiopia when many migrations took place from “Mesopotamia” to other lands and places.

 

Except for the rulers, the laws of the Sumerians, was extremely binding on all who lived within. The rich and powerful rulers were a law unto themselves. In the Ancient Near East for more than three thousand years, this system was to influence other cultures which followed the Sumerian way of life. They were known as the ‘Accad,’ the ‘Babylonians,’ the ‘Assyrians,’ the ‘Persians,’ the ‘Greeks,’ and the ‘Romans.’ This nucleonic ruling system was founded, designed, and developed by Cush.

 

The Palace Library of “Ashurbanipal” in Nineveh yielded the discovery of the first clay tablets naming Nimrod among the ruins of the Biblical “Nebo.” Many other remains have been found since in a number of excavation sites as well. Its’ also been discovered that material of later dating and much older material was revealed on other tablets which consisted of numerous originally independent episodes that must have been current long before they were compiled and woven together.

Nimrod’s arrogance, ruthlessness, and depravity were a subjected and grave concern for the people of his kingdom of “Uruk.” The people were said to have complained to the “Great God Anu.” Anu instructed the “Goddess Aruru” to create another wild ox, a double of Gilgamesh. This action would challenge him and distract his mind from the warrior’s daughter and the nobleman’s spouse, whom he appeared to leave no peace or sanctity.

 

Does any of this sound familiar? History does have a tendency to repeat itself…no matter what time or dates have evolved. The epic of Gilgamesh contain some very profound and indecent sections. Pornography isn’t needed with this type of literature in the palace. It’s been said that Gilgamesh was a vile, filthy, and despicable man.

 

It was the old ancient historian Josephus who said of Nimrod:

 

“Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of God. He persuaded them not to ascribe it to God, as if it were through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own courage which procured that happiness. He also gradually changed the government into tyranny-seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of God, but to bring them into a constant dependence upon his own power. He also said he would be revenged on God, if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to be able to reach! And that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers!”

What Josephus says here is precisely what is found in the Gilgamesh epics. Gilgamesh set up tyranny; he opposed YHWH and did his utmost to get people to forsake Him. Two of the premiere commentators on the Bible in Hebrew have this to say about Genesis 10:9, Nimrod was mighty in hunting, and that in opposition to YHWH; not ‘before YHWH’ in the sense of according to the will and purpose of YHWH, still less,… in a simply superlative sense… The name itself, ‘Nimrod’ from marad, ‘We Will Revolt!’ These actions point to some violent resistance to God.

 

We immigrants (forcefully relocated or not), should all be a little grateful for the courage of the one or the few administrative individuals (Judges, Lawmakers, etc.) whom we are supposed to hold accountable; as they should be; who simply said NO!

 

Has this country (Black, White, Brown, and All Between) suddenly become a dictatorship at the bequest of the new administrator? This individual, as well as the cabinet appointees have been resented all across the country and around the globe. What do this major movement and opposition say to the people…the world?

Many European Rulers, Khazars, and Tzars have been admired and adorned with affection even though they were known human butchers and murderers. Are we to embrace them as brethren or loved ones?

 

Mesopotamia; the land between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, the area between the rivers is almost entirely in Iraq, except for a small portion in the upper left corner that is in Syria, and some territory in Turkey.

Almost all sources, whether biblical or secular, have placed the land of Shinar somewhere in the southern half of Mesopotamia (southern Iraq). The traditional belief, therefore, has been that Babel, where the Tower was built, and Babylon, the infamous city, shared the same name and were located in the same place; claims that an ancient meaning of Babel/Babylon is “the place of canals”; he therefore puts forth his somewhat novel suggestion that Babel/Babylon also meant “the place of division” or even “the place of Peleg.”

A dangerous human being can sprout from virtually anywhere in the world. The power to deliver the death of a planned nature is cooperation from within. Religious, Racial, and/or difference of appearance have no bearing on denial of inclusion. This place, this country has its roots in immigration…an insurmountable amount of people have migrated to this continent and made claim to it regardless of the fact that indigenous human beings have already been established as such. That’s called invasion and occupation as opposed to immigration. Yet, the grand-fathered occupiers make laws and rules that affect the comings and goings of any and all who wish to cross the threshold of the land of immigrants. Targeted groups who are deemed undesirable by the ruler of the tower have no place here except if you look like him and/or are a member of the elitist club of people of mega-means. In many cases, immigrants reap what they sow…voting for someone who appears to look like you aren’t necessarily seeking to fulfill the desires and needs of those who blindly supported him and his agenda of “The New World Order!”

 

The traditional belief, therefore, has been that Babel, where the Tower was built, and Babylon, the infamous city, shared the same name and was located in the same place, ‘Iraq.’

Many verses in the Bible mention Babylon and could very well be quoted; that could refer to the kingdom as a whole and not just to the city itself. There is also the question of whether it is the city or the kingdom of Babylon that is meant in some biblical and other historical sense that “Babylon” refers to the kingdom, and not necessarily just to a city.

Shinar was named as a territory in its own right in the one account, but was considered as part of the Babylonian empire in the other account. Because the Hittite kingdom was located in the north, largely contained in what is western Turkey today (Hittite Period, 2006), the area of Shinar would have been right next door and would have been quite convenient for making a campaign.

 

Shinar was a land in the north of Mesopotamia in biblical times; a section of the Khabur triangle. The Tigris and Euphrates join at the bottom right corner to form one river, the Shatt al Arab that flows into the Persian Gulf (Iraq 2003).

 

However, the ruler of the northern continent or the Americas has posed a travel ban on immigrants from certain lands and territories. Many of whom are of an Islamic deity or belief. How does one determine who is or is not Islamic according to what one looks like? Religious groups around the world are of different hues, colors, ages, races, genders, etc. How do you know who is Hebrew, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, and so on? Maybe the ruler from atop the 58 Stories can tell the difference…

 

In reiteration, yes many verses mentioning Babylon could be quoted, that could refer to the kingdom as a whole and not just to the city itself. “That everything in the king’s house would be carried to Babylon, while Babylon refers to the kingdom, and not necessarily just to the city.” Again, not unlike the bible era ruler who ruled from his choice of towers or castles, this common-era egomaniac chooses to rule from New York as opposed to Washington D.C., as accustomed by his predecessors.

 

In any case, the story regarding the ‘Tower of Babel’ indicates an entire territory involved in the migration would have been eastward of Israel, whatever translation is preferred. Genesis 11:2 (KJV) says that Noah’s descendants migrated “from the east” to reach the plain in the land of Shinar. Translation of the phrase “Eastward” and “from the East” translated “from the East.” These translations all appear to indicate that the Ark and Babel were east-west of each other. The Tigris and Euphrates join at the bottom right corner to form one river, the Shatt al Arab that flows into the Persian Gulf (Iraq 2003).

Almost all sources, whether biblical or secular, have placed the land of Shinar somewhere in the southern half of Mesopotamia (southern Iraq) The traditional belief, therefore, has been that Babel, where the Tower was built, and Babylon, the infamous city, shared the same name and were located in the same place. Many history scholars and theologians claim that an ancient meaning of Babel/Babylon is “the place of canals,” “the place of division,” or even “the place of Peleg. Another historian says that after the work on the Tower was stopped; those who remained in Babylonia eventually finished the Tower, which became the center around which the city of Babylon was built.

This is Mesopotamia, the land between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The area between the rivers is almost entirely in Iraq, except for a small portion that is in Syria, and some territory in Turkey. Is this a wonder that the leader of the ‘Free World’ considers these countries “enemies of the state?”

 

The meaning of the name, “Babel,” is defined right in the Genesis passage as “confound” (Genesis 11:9 KJV), which, in turn, is defined in Webster’s dictionary as “confuse.” A clear and straightforward reading of this verse and application of the principles of solid hermeneutics do not leave room for any other meaning Quoting ‘Habermehl,’ the English translations of the Septuagint Scriptures do not use the word “Babel” at all, but simply translate the name of the place where the Tower was built as “Confusion.”

 

This author’s aim is to point out the similarities between the appointed leader’s decision making abilities and mental intent to that of the ancient Biblical Ruler known as ‘Nimrod’ who challenged ‘God.’ His ideology was to usurp ‘The Most High’ by persuading men, people to follow, trust, and believe in him and not ‘God!’  This despicable human being has persuaded many people to follow, trust, and believe in him only…and no one else! One major difference between the two individuals is their skin color. Nimrod is recorded as rich and Black while the current person residing in ‘The White House’ is rich and white.

Washington (CNN) Businessman Donald Trump continued his verbal attack against illegal immigrants on Wednesday, in an interview on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon.

 

He has stirred up controversy in recent days for claiming “rapists” and “killers” are migrating over the United States’ southern border. Univision and NBC Universal have cut ties with the businessman, refusing to air the “Miss Universe” pageant he partially owns as a result, and Macy’s announced Wednesday it was also discontinuing his clothing line.

On Wednesday, Trump, who is a Republican presidential candidate, told Lemon he was pulling his facts from a Fusion article.

Lemon replied that the press stories are about women being raped, but not about criminals coming across the border.

“Well, somebody’s doing the raping, Don! I mean somebody’s doing it! Who’s doing the raping? Who’s doing the raping?” he asked.

 

Don’t you think this question is obvious since it is he who has been charged with rape and statutory rape, tax evasion, and crimes against those he refused to pay as well as those he cheated out of tuition money for an education that never revealed itself?

Many people have different views of the definition of ‘immigrant.’ One must realize that while Black People (as slaves) were thought to be originally brought to the ‘America’s’ by white’s, that particular group cannot be classified as immigrant. This group of people did not come to these shores voluntarily but as captives. Now on the other hand, the Europeans, and their descendents came here voluntarily not unlike many other people from around the globe.

In the Bible, in First Chronicles, chapter 15, it is written that David brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord into Jerusalem.

“David and the elders of Israel and the commanders of units of a thousand went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the house of “Obed-Edom,” with rejoicing. …Now David was clothed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and as were the singers, and Kenaniah, who was in charge of the singing of the choirs. David also wore a linen ephod. So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouts, with the sounding of rams’ horns and trumpets, and of cymbals, and the playing of lyres and harps.” (15:25-28)

“The Essence of Invasion and Annihilation – Gog, Magog, and Friends”

In reiteration to “The Eye of Cain” and in concurrence to many cited sources and scholars that have speculated, theorized, predicted, written, and believe in the impending annihilation of Israel, this latest insertion is added to the theory in the history of man-kind (and woman-kind).

The entire planet is caught up in this menagerie of violence, mass killing, greed, jealousy, accusations, lies, deceit, condemnation, and chaos. It seems the nations, countries, and people of this planet are suffering from selective amnesia. How soon (and not) we forget the history of mankind, i.e., “Shem, Ham, Japheth, Noah’s Ark, Sodom and Gomorra.”

In this world of multiple and implemented ill practiced divisive, seperative, man-made religions; speaking as a believer-descendent of the Hebrew Culture, “House of Judah” and Supporter of Homo-Sapien Kinship, why is it this particular group of people (Israel) are looked upon with such hatred? “Gog,” of the land of “Magog,” the chief prince of “Meshech” and “Tubal,” specifically illustrates this hatred.

The war at the end of the tribulation, known as Armageddon, is a world war. Revelation tells us that this battle will involve all nations. The war described in Ezekiel includes specific nations that invade Israel. Also, Armageddon is at the climax of the tribulation, while the war described in Ezekiel comes well before then. Ezekiel 38:1-7 gives 10 names as participants in the invasion of Israel that will follow the regathering of the Jews to their homeland. First mentioned, is the land of Magog.
The most common identity for Magog is in Central Asia. The Jewish historian Josephus said, “Magog founded the Magogians, called Scythians by the Greeks. Scythians were a nomadic tribe who inhabited the ancient territory from Central Asia across the southern part of ancient Russia.” Today this area is inhabited by the former Soviet Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and possibly northern parts of Afghanistan. All of these nations that make up the land of Magog have one thing in common – Islam.

The ancient kingdom of Cush in Ezekiel’s time was the land just south of Egypt on the Nile River. Today this land is occupied by Sudan. Sudan is home to the National Islamic Front, is ruled by an Islamic military dictatorship, a strong supporter of Iraq, home to Osama bin Laden from 1991-1996, and harbors countless Islamic terrorist groups. Sudan would easily fit into the coalition as it is already close allies with Iran, trading military supplies for docking rights on the Red Sea shipping routes.

Ancient Put was the land just west of Egypt, or what is today Libya. Libya is another sponsor of terrorism, and openly refuses to recognize Israel’s right to even exist. When the coalition against Israel is formed, Libya won’t have to be asked twice to join.

“The Lost Tribes of Twelve and Yahveh the Father”

When ‘Messiah’ was first named by the angel and later given that name at His circumcision, a Greek name would have never been permitted. Jews were vitally concerned with pedigrees. According to Jewish biblical tradition, the name of the offspring was always given with the name of the father. It was completely unacceptable for a Jew to take a Gentile name.
Using ‘YAHshua’s’ true name brings glory to the name of YAHveh the Father.

YAHveh, the Holy One of Israel, became flesh and blood and dwelt on earth to bring salvation to Israel and all Gentiles later to be joined with her. In Hebrew, the word for salvation or saves is SHUA. That is why the angel told Joseph, “She will bear a Son; and you shall call ‘His’ name “Yahhushua/YahSHUA,” for it is He who will save His people from their sins”

THE REUNIFICATION OF EPHRAIM AND JUDAH

One of the important results of the end-time events that lead to the return of the Messiah is the reunification of the “lost tribes” of Israel/Ephraim with their brethren. “All of Israel” (the entire twelve tribes) cannot be saved unless they are all brought back into a unity (Echad). It is necessary for those of Israel who are “lost” among the nations (Ephraim, the “fullness of the gentiles”) to come back in, and only then can this happen. This is the point of the “mystery” of Romans 11:25.

According to Genesis 9:19 and the Table of Nations in Genesis 10, all mankind is descended from the three sons of Noah: Shem, Ham and Japheth. The descendants of Japheth, the youngest son, settled in Anatolia, modern Turkey, and from there moved into the Caucasus Mountains of Western Russia and from there settled Europe and Russia. They are the ancestors of the Caucasian peoples. Their main impact on Israel was through the Persians, the Greeks and the Romans.
Ham’s descendants became the various Black peoples who settled the African continent and parts of the Arabian Peninsula. His sons were Cush, whose descendants settled in Ethiopia, Mizraim, whose descendants settled in Egypt, Put, whose descendants settled in Libya, and Canaan, whose descendants settled in Palestine and founded the cities of Sidon, Tyre and Carthage and, among others, were the ancestors of the Phoenicians.

Collectively, in ancient times the descendants of Cush formed a large ethnic group and were the main populace of the Cushite Empire, which extended from present-day western Libya to Ethiopia and Nubia, south of Egypt, all of present-day Egypt, and the Arabian peninsula into the mountains of Turkey. They spoke a variety of languages and had skin pigmentation ranging from dark black to medium brown.

From the first time Christian children settle into Sunday school classrooms, an image of Jesus Christ is etched into their minds. In North America he is most often depicted as being taller than his disciples, lean, with long, flowing, light brown hair, fair skin and light-colored eyes. Familiar though this image may be, it is inherently flawed.

A person with these features and physical bearing would have looked very different from everyone else in the region where Jesus lived and ministered. Surely the authors of the Bible would have mentioned so stark a contrast.

On the contrary, according to the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus was arrested in the garden of Gethsemane before the Crucifixion, Judas Iscariot had to indicate to the soldiers whom Jesus was because they could not tell him apart from his disciples. Further clouding the question of what Jesus looked like is the simple fact that nowhere in the New Testament is Jesus described, nor have any drawings of him ever been uncovered.
There is the additional problem of having neither a skeleton nor other bodily remains to probe for DNA. In the absence of evidence, our images of Jesus have been left to the imagination of artists.

Africa boasts one of the World’s Oldest Civilizations. It was called Nubia; during the time of ancient Egypt, and the People of Nubia or Kush were Black. “Black/White” is a term first used 800 years ago as a tool to divide the Descendants of Adam.

It has been estimated that from 25 to 28 distinct ethnic groups made up the population of the Khazar Qaganate, aside from the ethnic elite. The ruling elite seems to have been constituted out of nine tribes/clans, themselves ethnically heterogeneous, spread over perhaps nine provinces or principalities, each of which would have been allocated to a clan.

In terms of caste or class, some evidence suggests that there was a distinction, whether racial or social is unclear, between “White Khazars” (Ak-Khazars) and “Black Khazars” (Qara-Khazars). The 10th century Muslim geographer al-Iakhri, claimed that the White Khazars were strikingly handsome with reddish hair, white skin, and blue eyes, while the Black Khazars were swarthy, verging on deep black, as if they were “some kind of Indian.”

Many Turkic nations had a similar (political, not racial) division between a “white” ruling warrior caste and a “Black” class of commoners; the consensus among mainstream scholars is that Istakhri was confused by the names given to the two groups. However, Khazars are generally described by early Arab sources as having a white complexion, blue eyes, and reddish hair. The name of the presumed founding Ashinà clan itself may reflect an etymology suggestive of a darkish colour. The distinction appears to have survived the collapse of the Khazarian empire. Later Russian chronicles, commenting on the role of the Khazars in the magyarization of Hungary, refer to them as “White Ugrian” and Magyars as “Black Ugrians”.

The language has been known as “Hebrew” in English since the 11th century, from Old French Ebreu, in turn from Latin Hebraeus and Greek Hebraios, ultimately a loan from “Assyrian lettering” (Ktav Ashuri), the “square-script”, by Ezra the Scribe following the Babylonian Exile.

Since the Hebrew Bible makes a point of marking the Canaanites as peoples set apart from the Israelites, the extent of the distinction between the culture of the Canaanites and the Israelites is a matter of debate. It has been argued that the Israelites were themselves Canaanites, and that “historical Israel”, as distinct from “literary” or “Biblical Israel” was a subset of Canaanite culture. It is also known that Israelites and later the subdivision of Israelites known as the Judeans spoke Hebrew as their main language

The finite minds of men are inadequate to fully comprehend the plans and purposes of the “Infinite One.” To wise in their own conceit to search the scriptures with contrition of soul and earnest prayer for divine guidance, they have no shield from delusion. Satan stands ready to supply and deliver the heart’s desire of all who wish it. The plan of deception replaces the reality of truth.

 

Of the most successful agencies of the “Great Deceiver” are the divisive teachings and lying wonders of spiritualism. Disguised as an “Angel of Light,” he spreads his nets where least suspected. If only men would simply study the book of ‘God’ with earnest prayer, they might understand it; they would probably not be left to the darkness of receiving false doctrines…as they reject the truth, they fall prey to deception.

Many who have no real faith in God or in His word assent to some principles of truth and pass themselves off as Christians, are enabled to introduce their errors as scriptural doctrines.

Taking the position that it is of no consequence what men believe is one of Satan’s most successful deceptions. He knows the truth…he knows that the truth, received in the love of it, sanctifies the soul of the receiver; therefore he is constantly seeking to substitute false theories, fables, and another gospel.

 

From the beginning of man’s time on Earth, the servants of God have contended against false teachers, not merely as vicious men, but as inculcators of falsehoods that were (are) fatal to the soul.

The purposeful works of our great adversary is to confuse (the masses) minds so that they shall not discern the truth along with discord and division. Satan sees the Lord’s servants burdened because of the spiritual darkness of appetite or to some other form of self-gratification, and thus numbs their sensibilities so that they fail to hear the very things which they most need to learn.

Satan fully knows that all, whom he can lead to neglect prayer and the searching of the scriptures, will be overcome by his attacks. Therefore he invents every possible device to engross the mind in order to gain victory… Victory at all costs!”

 

“The servants of “Hell,” instead of following the truth, make it their business and religion to change the truth and seek some fault of character of error of faith in those whom they do not agree. They will put a false coloring upon the words and acts of those who love and obey the truth. In order to sustain erroneous doctrines or un-Christian-like, (un-Islam-like, un-Hebrew-like, un-Jewish-like, un-Buddha-like, un-Hindu-like, etc.,) practices, some will seize upon passages of scripture separated from the context, perhaps quoting half of a single verse as proof to their point of view.

With the “Cunning of The Serpent” they entrench themselves behind disconnected utterances construed to suit their carnal desires.

 

…Many will fully pervert The Word of God!”

 

This masterpiece…this successful accomplishment of Satan’s deceptions to keep the minds of men searching and conjecturing in regard to that which ‘God’ has not made known and which ‘He’ does not intend that we should understand.  And this is one of the reasons Lucifer lost his place in Heaven. He became dissatisfied because all the secrets of God’s purposes were not confided to him, and he entirely disregarded that which was revealed concerning his own work in the lofty position assigned to him. By arousing the same discontent in the angels under his command, he caused their fall from grace as well. He now (and continually) seeks to imbue the minds of men with the same spirit and to lead them also to disregard the direct commands of God.

 

The utter yet subtle and mischievous error is the fast spreading, wide-spreading, and possibly ubiquitous belief that Satan has no existence as a personal being; that the name is used in scripture merely to represent men’s evil thoughts and desires. Wordly wisdom teaches that prayer is not essential.

Men of science claim that there can be no real answer to prayer; that this would be a violation of law, a miracle, and those miracles have no existence. The universe, they say, is governed by fixed laws, and God Himself does nothing contrary to these laws.

The errors of popular theology have driven many a soul to skepticism. This is one object which Satan seeks to accomplish. There is nothing that he desires more than to destroy man’s confidence in ‘God’ and in ‘His Word’“The Word Of God!”

 

Satan stands at the head of the great army of doubters, and he works to the utmost of his power to beguile souls into his ranks. It has become fashionable to doubt.

 

Large classes of people look upon “The Word of God” with distrust. They are un-willing to obey its requirements and endeavor to overthrow its authority. They read the Bible and listen to its teachings as presented from the sacred desk, merely to find fault with the scriptures or the sermon. Many become infidels in order to justify or excuse themselves in neglect of duty. Others adopt skeptical principles from pride and indolence in order to distinguish themselves by accomplishing anything worthy of honor, which requires effort and self-denial. They aim to secure a reputation for superior wisdom by criticizing the Bible and just-thinking people.

Not only do they not realize that they are entangling themselves in the snare of the fowler, they feel that they must maintain their positions while openly expressing unbelief…that must be maintained. And with this, they have united with un-Godly intentions, closing the gates of paradise – denying them passage therein.

 

Neither wicked men nor devils can hinder “The Work Of God,” or shut-out ‘His’ presence from ‘His’ people. Satan can present a counterfeit so closely resembling the truth that it deceives those who are willing to be deceived.

The ‘Lord’ permits ‘His’ people to be subjected to the fiery ordeal of temptation, not because he takes pleasure in their distress and affliction, but because this process is essential to their final victory.

‘He’ could not, consistently with ‘His’ own glory; shield them from temptation; for the very object of the trial is to prepare them to resist all the allurements of evil.

 

Satan is well aware that the weakest soul who abides in ‘Christ’ is more than a match for the hosts of darkness – should he reveal himself, he would be met and resisted.

 

No woman, man, or child is safe for a day or an hour without prayer. Satan is an expert in quoting scripture, placing his own interpretations upon passages, by which he hopes to cause us to stumble.

It is certain that the devils have a profound knowledge of all things. No theologian can interpret the “Holy Scriptures” better than they can; no lawyer has a more detailed knowledge of testaments, contracts, and actions; no physician of philosopher can better understand the virtues of the heavens, the stars, birds, fishes, trees, herbs, metals, and stones.

Satan possesses great courage, incredible cunning, superhuman wisdom, the most acute penetration, consummate prudence, an incomparable skill in veiling the most pernicious artifices under a specious disguise, and a malicious and infinite hatred toward the human race, implacable and incurable!”

 

“It Is Better To Rule In Hell Than To Serve In Heaven!”

 

We should all study the (Bible, Qur’an, The Torah, E. G. White, etc.) ‘Holy Books’ with humility of heart and never losing sight of our dependence upon ‘God.’

 

While we must constantly guard against the devices of Satan, we should pray in faith continually:

 

“Lead Us Not Into Temptation!”

 

Being “The First People” we have been placed in a position, a time, and a place of “Infinite Proportions” that only ‘GOD’ can undo!

 

We have survived every assault that man has afflicted upon us and survived. We have survived this current ‘MAAFA’ as we (a diversity of good people, God-Loving People) will survive this atrocity that is afflicted upon us today, tomorrow, and into infinity…with “The Grace of God!”

In an attempt to introduce evidence that contradicts many who have claims to being the first at inventing, creating, and the illusion of being the first at anything, while Blacks have been displayed or described at doing absolutely nothing at all. This project series will be presented in part, in order for those of us who haven’t a clue as to the importance of our people’s contributions in and to the United States as well as what we have introduced throughout the Whole World Wide!

 

There are many Black innovators who have not been included in the listing(s) due to lack of resource information.

 

Examples include the invention of ‘The Clock’ by Benjamin Banneker and the “Potato Chip” by George Crum and the first Black Woman Astronaut, Mae C. Jemison and Garrett A Morgan’s invention, the ‘Traffic Signal!

PART ONE:

 

“We all have our heroes and sheroes. For people who have been systematically important to remember and celebrate those who have won personal victories against the forces arrayed against them. This remembrance can take different forms. One is the folk tale. From Africa came tales of an animal – spider or rabbit – who, though cunning, triumphed over stronger predatory and dangerous animals. But apparent meekness was not the only strategy. Black people also celebrated, as openly as they dared the bold rebel who broke the bonds. Black folklore is a way of remembering in order to struggle against oppression and in the interest of building a community.

 

For many African Americans the first person to achieve a goal and gain recognition is ever so important as a symbol of hope and a beacon for the future. These woman and men become living proof that it is possible to crack what seems to be a monolithic system of oppression. P. B. S. Pinchback and L. Douglas Wilder are shining examples of men who joined the ranks of our heroes because they were the first to do what had never been done before by Black Americans. Pinchback was the first Black State Governor and held the appointed position in Louisiana from December 1872 to January 1873. More than a century would pass before Wilder became the first Black elected governor for the state of Virginia in 1990. Black Firsts records and celebrates the pioneers who displayed and continue to display great courage and perseverance in the face of odds that would discourage lesser souls.

 

Not all of the trailblazers encountered in Black Firsts set out to challenge the system directly. Many used their guile and courage to build and challenge the system directly. Many used their guile and courage to build and sustain the Black Community. And as a community, African Americans, no matter how oppressed, have always nurtured positive values that are then passed on to subsequent generations. Black Firsts records the names of African American women and men known to history who first formed the churches and built the schools and performed a myriad of other tasks without which Black Folks as a people could not have survived. In doing this, the book offers a sense of the richness of Black History and will perhaps inspire the ignorant of the forgetful to explore the past to gain insight for the present and strength for the future.”

Architecture:

1908 – Vertner W. Tandy, Sr., (1885-1949) was the first Black American architect registered in New York State. He designed Villa LeWaro, on the Hudson River, the mansion of hair care magnate Madame C. J. Walker.

Tandy also known for founding Alpha Phi fraternity at Cornell University.

1953 – Paul Revere Williams (1894-1980), was the first Black Architect to become a fellow of the American Institute of Architects. Certified in California in 1915, he designed homes and buildings for Hollywood luminaries. In addition to designing more than three thousand homes, ranging in value from ten thousand to six hundred thousand dollars, Williams served as associate architect for the fifty-million dollar Los Angeles International Airport.

 

1954 – Norma Merrick Sklarek (1928) was the first Black Woman registered architect. Registered in New York State and later in California (1962), she was also the first Black Woman fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 1980.”

In an attempt to introduce evidence that contradicts many who have claims to being the first at inventing, creating, and the illusion of being the first at anything, while Blacks have been displayed or described at doing absolutely nothing at all. This premise encourages me to share some insight into the truth of who it is that was actually first.

PART TWO:

 

Cartoons:

1910-George Herriman (1880-1944) was “The first Black” to achieve fame as a syndicated cartoonist. On July 26, 1910, the prototype of ‘Ignatz Mouse’ hit the prototype of ‘Krazy Kat’ with a brick. The strip ‘Krazy Kat’ was extremely popular in the 1920’s, especially with intellectuals, and continued with somewhat diminished success until July 25, 1944. Herriman was born in New Orleans in a family classified as Black, and the family moved to Los Angeles to escape racial labeling. Some of his friends called him “The Greek” but he never openly divulged his background.

 

1933-Elmer Simms Campbell (1906-1971) was “The First Black Cartoonist” to work for national publications. The St. Louis-born artist contributed cartoons and other art work to ‘Esquire,’ ‘Cosmopolitan,’ ‘Redbook,’ ‘The New Yorker,’ ‘Opportunity,’ and ‘Syndicated Features’ in 145 newspapers – (he was in nearly every issue from 1933 to 1958). Campbell created the character “Esky,” the pop-eyed mascot who appeared on the cover of ‘Esquire.’

 

1964-Morrie (Morris) Turner (1923), cartoonist and educator, created “Wee-Pals,” “The First Integrated Comic Strip in the World.” Influenced by Charles Schultz’s “Peanuts” and inspired by ‘Brother Dick Gregory.’ “Wee-Pals” became nationally syndicated and appeared in all of the large daily and Sunday comics. “Nippie,” the main character in “Wee-Pals” is named for the comedian ‘Nipsey Russell.’

 

1991-Barbara Brandon (1958) became “The First Black Woman Cartoonist” nationally syndicated in the white press. Her comic strip, “Where I’m Coming From,” appeared in the Detroit Free Press, and was acquired by Universal Press Syndicate in 1991. Brandon was born in Brooklyn, New York, and her father, Brumsic Brandon, Jr., was creator of the “Luther” comic strip which first appeared in the late 1960’s.

 

Circus:

1966-“The First Black Showgirl” with ‘Ringling Brothers Circus’ was ‘Toni Williams’ (1943) of Reading, Pennsylvania. Since then she has formed a trapeze act on her own.

 

1977-Bernice Collins (1957) was “The First Black Woman Clown with ‘Ringling Brothers.” The Kansas City native decided to become a clown when she was fourteen years old.

PART THREE:

 

Dance:

1845-William Henry Lane (c.1825-52), “Master Juba,” was “The First Black Dance Star.” He took his stage name from the ‘African’ dance, the ‘Juba.’ In 1845, Lane won the title “King of All Dancers” after three challenge contests. He toured with three white minstrels, receiving top billing, and garnered acclaim for his 1848 performance in London. Lane died in 1852, without ever returning to the United States.

 

1923-In October, 1923, “Running Wild” was “The First Black Show” to introduce the ‘Charleston’ to non-Black audiences. After its appropriation by a white show in 1926, the dance achieved a world-wide popularity second only to the Black inspired ‘Tango,’ which came to Europe and America from Argentina. A third Black dance to achieve wide success in the 1920’s was the “Black Bottom,” which reached in “Dinah” at ‘Harlem’s Lafayette Theater’ in 1924. Both the Charleston and the Black Bottom were theatrical adaptations of dances known to Blacks in the South for a decade of more.

 

1932-Buddy (Clarence) Bradley was “The First Black to Choreograph a Show of White Dancers.” He was hired to prepare the London production of “Evergreen” for which he was in charge of sixty-four dancers. Bradley received full-credit in the program. His career from this time on was mainly in Europe, where he was an important figure in popular dance.

 

Hemsley Winfield (1906-1934) was “The First Black Dancer” to be involved in ballet. He choreographed and performed with his own company in the ‘Metropolitan Opera’s’ production of ‘Louis Gruenberg’s’ “The Emperor Jones.”

This was a one-time exception to the rules – management did not list the dancers in the program. The next Black dancer did not appear with the company until 1951. Winfield’s mother was a playwright, and he made his debut in one of her plays, “Wade In The Water” (1926). He became a dancer and a pioneer in Black concert dance, organizing the ‘Negro Art Theater Dance Group.’ This group gave its first concert on April 29, 1931, and appeared in ‘Hall Johnson’s’ “Run Little Chillun” in 1933.

 

1951-Janet Collins (1923-) was “The First Black “Prima Ballerina”” at the ‘Metropolitan Opera Company,’ a position that she held for three years. She made her debut in “Aida.” Collins was born in New Orleans on March 2, 1923, and her family later settled in Los Angeles. A graduate of Los Angeles City College and Arts Center School, Collins is known for her choreography and her dance instruction.

 

1958-“The First Black Dancer” in the country to become a member of a classical ballet company, the New York City Ballet, was ‘Arthur Mitchell’ (1934-). Born in New York City, Mitchell studied at the city’s High School of Performing Arts and at the School of American Ballet. He founded the “Dance Theatre of Harlem” as a school of dance – especially classical ballet for children, regardless of race. The first Black Classical Ballet Company in the United States, it made its debut at the “Guggenheim Museum of Art in York City.” In 1988 the company became the first Black cultural group to tour the ‘Soviet Union’ under the renewed cultural exchange program.

 

1963-Katherine Dunham (1910-) was the “First Black Choreographer” to work at the ‘Metropolitan Opera House.’ A dancer, choreographer, school founder, and anthropologist, she was born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and graduated from the University of Chicago and Northwestern University. Dunham incorporated her training in anthropology and her study of ‘African and West Indian Dances’ into her own techniques and dance instruction.

 

1984-The Alvin Ailey Dance Theater was the “First Black Modern Dance Troupe” to perform in the ‘Metropolitan Opera House.’ Founded in 1958 by ‘Alvin Ailey’ (1931-89), the troupe has performed before more than an estimated fifteen million people throughout the world. Ailey’s best known work, “Revelations,” based on his childhood experiences in Black Baptist Churches, was created in 1961. The dancer and choreographer was born in Rogers, Texas.

 

Dramatists:

 

1970-Maya Angelou (Marguerite Johnson, 1928), actress, dancer, and writer, was “The First Black Woman to have an ‘Original Screenplay'” produced, “Georgia, Georgia,” which she directed. Angelou was also “The First Black Woman to Have a Non-Fiction Work on the Best-Seller List.” Her autobiographical “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings” (1970) evoked images of a ‘Black Girl’s Childhood’ in the South, and was nominated for a 1970 National Book Award and aired as a television movie in 1979. An artist of wide-ranging talents, she was nominated for a ‘Tony Award’ for acting and a ‘Pulitzer Prize’ for poetry.

 

Charles Gardone (1925-), playwright, was “The First Black Dramatist” to win the ‘Pulitzer Prize’ for drama, for the play “No Place To Be Somebody.”

1949 – Daniel Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong (1900-1971), jazz trumpeter, was “The First Black” to preside over the ‘New Orleans Mardi Gras.’ Born in New Orleans, he learned to play the coronet and read music while in “The Negro Waifs Home for Boys.” Armstrong moved to Chicago and became one of the most influential jazz artists. A superb showman, he was known for his gravelly, growling vocal style. He acquired the nickname “Satchmo” in 1932 from an editor of “The Melody Maker.”

 

1988-The First National Black Arts Festival in the United States held in Atlanta.

 

FILM:

 

1902-“The First appearance of Blacks in film” came in “Off To Bloomingdale Asylum.” The slapstick comedy was made in France, and produced by George Melies. The Black characters were probably played by white actors.

 

1905-“The Wooing and Wedding of a Coon” is the earliest known American-made film with an “All-Black Cast.” A derogatory one-reeler, the film presented undisguised mockery of a Black couple.

 

1914-Sam Lucas (Samuel Milady, 1840-1916) was “The First Black” to play the title role in “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” on film. He had been “The First Black Man” to play Uncle Tom on stage in 1878. Born in Washington, Ohio, Lucas performed with major minstrel troupes, wrote one of the most popular minstrel songs of the 1870’s (Carve dat Possum) appeared in vaudeville, and starred in musical comedies, including “A Trip to Coontown” (1898). He is also known as “The First Black Composer of Popular Ballads.”

 

1915-Madame Sul-Te-Wan (1873-1959) was “The First Black American” to be hired by a major movie producer on a continuing basis. D. W. Griffith hired her after she worked on “Birth of a Nation.”

 

1926-Stepin Fetchit (Lincoln Theodore Monroe Andrew Perry, 1902-1985) and ‘Carolynne Snowden’ played in “The First On-Screen Black Romance” in the movie, “In Old Kentucky.” Fetchit, an actor and comedian, was to appear in films with stars like ‘Will Rogers’ and ‘Shirley Temple.’ He appeared in films in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The ‘Key West, Florida,’ native took his stage name from a race horse on which he had bet in Oklahoma, before he left for Hollywood in the 1920’s.

 

“The First Black Sound Film” was “Melancholy Dame,” a comedy two-reeler, starring ‘Evelyn Preer,’ ‘Roberta Hyson,’ ‘Edward Thompson,’ and ‘Spencer Williams’ of “Amos and Andy’ fame.

 

1929-“The First two full-length films with ‘all-Black’ casts” were “Hearts in Dixie,” starring ‘Daniel Haynes,’ ‘Nina Mae McKinney,’ and ‘Victoria Spivey;’ and “Hallelujah,” starring ‘Clarence Muse,’ ‘Stepin Fetchit,’ and ‘Mildred Washington.’ “Hearts in Dixie” was also  “The First Black-Oriented All-Talking, All-Singing film from a major company.

 

1940-Hatttie McDaniel (1895-1952), singer, vaudeville performer, and actress, was “The First Black To Win An Oscar.” She was named the best supporting actress for her portrayal of ‘Mammy’ in “Gone With The Wind.” McDaniel made her radio debut in 1915, and is said to be the “First Black America Woman To Sing On Radio.” Often called “Hi-Hat Hattie,” she was born in Wichita, Kansas, and moved to Hollywood in 1931. She made her movie debut in “The Golden West” in 1932, and appeared in more than three hundred films during the next two decades. Her career was built on the “Mammy” image, a role she played with dignity. In 1947, she continued the role in “Beulah” on the radio.

 

1944-The first United States Army Training film favorably depicting Blacks was made. It was designed to introduce Black and White Soldiers to the contributions of Black in military history. Frank Capra (the producer), among those who created “The Negro Soldier.”

 

1955-Dorothy Dandridge (1922-1965) was “The First Black Woman Nominated For An Oscar” in a leading role for her portrayal of ‘Carmen’ in “Carmen Jones,” a role she acted while someone else sang for her.

She was born on November 9, 1922, in Cleveland, and later moved to Los Angeles From 1937 to 1964, Dandridge appeared in a number of films, often typecast in the stereotypical roles commonly given to Black actresses. In 1951 she was “The First Black” to perform in ‘The Empire Room’ of New York’s Waldorf Astoria. “Island In The Sun,” a 1957 film in which she appeared opposite white actor ‘John Justin,’ marked the first time the theme of interracial love was explored in movies. ‘Harry Belafonte’ and ‘Joan Fontaine were also paired in this film. Dandridge returned to night club performances when her film career ended.

 

1958-“The First Black Male Nominated For An Academy Award For Best Actor was ‘Sidney Poitier'” (1924-) for his performance in “The Defiant Ones.” He was born on February 20, 1924, in Miami, and later moved to the Bahamas with his family. At age fifteen, Poitier returned to Miami, then went to New York City. He made his Hollywood debut in 1950 and won an Oscar for best actor in the film “Lillies of The Field” in 1963, becoming “The First Black” to win an Oscar for a starring role. In 1967 Poitier became “The First Black” to have his hand and foot prints placed in front of ‘Grauman’s Chinese Theater.’

 

1971-Richard Roundtree (1942-) became “The First Black Private Detective and Superhero” in a motion picture role in the trend-setting movie, “Shaft.”

Born in New Rochelle, New York, he attended Southern Illinois University on a football scholarship, but became interested in acting in a campus theater. In 1967 he was a model for the “Ebony Fashion Fair” and later advertised hair care products for Black Men in “Ebony Magazine.” After ‘Bill Cosby’ advised him to study dramatic arts in New York, Roundtree joined the “Negro Ensemble Company” and appeared in three off their productions.

 

1989-Euzham Palcy was “The First Black Woman Director” of a full-length film, “A Dry White Season,” for a major United States studio. Starring ‘Donald Sutherland’ and ‘Susan Sarandon,’ the film deals with apartheid in South Africa. Palcy was born in ‘Martinique.’

 

1992-Julie Dash (1952-) became “The First Black Woman Writer and Director” to have a feature-length film in national distribution. The film, “Daughters of The Dust,” is the story of one day in the lives of a Black Family living in “Ibo Island, South Carolina.”

 

John Singleton was “The First Black Film Director Nominated For An Academy Award” for the box office hit “Boys N The Hood,” starring rap artist ‘Ice Cube,’ ‘Cuba Gooding, Jr.,’ ‘Laurence Fishburne,’ and ‘Morris Chestnut.’

Although the film presents an anti-drug and anti-violent message, is sparked violence when it opened in several cities in the United States on July 12,1991.

 

Woody Strode, known for his groundbreaking roles in films, was “The First Black Inducted Into The Walk of Western Stars” at a ceremony held at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. Strode acted in such films as “Sergeant Rutledge,” “Posse,” and “The Ten Commandments,” with ‘Charleton Heston.’

While Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and corrupted users of the internet continue to disparage the merits of Black Lives Matter, the realities that inspired the movement weren’t up for debate at the return of VH1’s Hip-Hop Honors on Monday night at New York City’s Lincoln Center.

 

“If I go outside and try to hail a cab, and he passes me for the white woman standing right there, racism is still alive and kicking,” Queen Latifah, one of the night’s honorees, said in her speech. “We have to change that. And I’m not blaming the white lady; she needed a cab, too. I’m just saying we need to change this attitude.”

 

It’s a hypothetical that indirectly subverts “All Lives Matter” — a popular dissenting hashtag used mostly by white people as a counterargument for “Black Lives Matter” — which has come under fire for being, at best, reductive, and at worst, racist.

 

Vulture asked 12 attendees at VH1’s Hip-Hop Honors for their thoughts on why All Lives Matter is so problematic — and why it’s not.

 

Orange Is the New Black:

“Black Lives Matter doesn’t mean that all lives don’t matter, what it means is that Black Lives Matter do as well. And we live in a society that unfortunately teaches people — and usually it is the people that are hashtagging #AllLivesMatter — that black lives are less important than theirs. Immigrants:

Africans arrived on these shores with valuable assets for both Europeans and Native Americans. They were used for agriculture labor and working in field gangs, something unfamiliar to most Indians. As experts in tropical agriculture, they had a lot to teach both white and Red people. Africans had a virtual immunity to European diseases such as smallpox, which wiped out Native Americans.

For Europeans seeking a source of labor that could not escape, Africans were ideal because they were three thousand miles from home. They could not flee to loved ones, as Indian slave could. African men and women who fled could always be identified by skin color, and Black became the badge of bondage.

Who Are Police Killing?

While recent killings by police in Ferguson, Missouri, and New York City receive national attention, the fact is that from 1999 through 2011, American law enforcement officers killed 4,531 people, 96 percent by firearms and 96 percent of them men, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.* The rate of police killings of African Americans has fallen by 70 percent over the last 40-50 years, but their risk remains much higher than that of Whites, Latinos, and Asians.

 

The five states or jurisdictions where a person is most likely to be killed by law enforcement are New Mexico, Nevada, District of Columbia, Oregon, and Maryland. California ranks sixth from the top. Alabama, North Carolina, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and New York are the safest (or, perhaps, the worst at reporting).

 

The major counties and urban jurisdictions with the highest rates of law enforcement killings are Wyandotte County (Kansas City); Denver County, Baltimore (city), Norfolk (city), and Anderson County, South Carolina; interestingly, Harris County (Houston) has the lowest reported rate. Fresno, Riverside, Kern, San Bernardino, and San Diego have the highest rates in California; Contra Costa has the lowest.

 

The racial group most likely to be killed by law enforcement is Native Americans, followed by African Americans, Latinos, Whites, and Asian Americans.

 

Native Americans, 0.8 percent of the population, comprise 1.9 percent of police killings. African Americans, 13 percent of the population, are victims in 26 percent of police shootings. Law enforcement kills African Americans at 2.8 times the rate of white non-Latinos, and 4.3 times the rate of Asians.

 

Latinos are victimized by police killings at a level 30 percent above average and 1.9 times the rate of White, non-Latinos.

 

One-fourth of those killed by law enforcement are under age 25, 54 percent are ages 25-44, and nearly one-fourth are ages 45 and older. Teenagers comprise only 7 percent of all police killings. The risk of an older teen age 15-19 being killed by police is about the same as for a 50 year-old; for a younger teen age 10-14, about the same as for an 80 year-old.

 

While statistics are always suspect over time, killings by law enforcement officers appear to be much lower today than in the past. In the late 1960s, nearly 100 young black men under age 25 were killed by law enforcement every year. Even as the black youth and young adult population doubled over the last 40 years, police shootings of young black men fell to around 35 per year in the 2000s, a rate decline of 79 percent. While younger African Americans were the victims in 1 in 4 killings by police in the 1968-74 periods and 1 in 7 in 1975-84, today, that proportion is 1 in 10.

 

Similarly, police killings of African Americans 25 and older have declined by 61 percent since the late 1960s. Still, the rates for younger African Americans remain 4.5 times higher, and for older African Americans 1.7 times higher, than for other races and ages.

Police are Killing Native Americans at A Higher Rate Than Any Race, and Nobody is Talking About It

Despite gaining citizenship rights in 1924, Native Americans have yet to see the day that they enjoy benefits of a nation which boasts “liberty and justice for all.”

 

Unsettling reports of unfair treatment towards Native peoples by law enforcement are not isolated incidents—rather they are endemic of a deeply discriminatory justice system. Native American men are admitted to prison at four times the rate of white men and Native women at six-fold the rate of white women. Additionally, Native Americans are the racial group most likely to be killed by law enforcement.

 

Americans are up in arms right now over the near epidemic number of deaths of African-American at the hands of police, and rightfully so. African-Americans make up only 13 percent of the population, yet they are the victims in 26 percent of all police shootings. That is nearly 3 times the rate of whites.

 

The outrage by the #Black Lives Matter movement is founded in statistical evidence which shows that the system inherently and with extreme bias disproportionately targets blacks.

That being said, there is one group who no one is talking about that is targeted more than everyone else. The racial group most likely to be killed by law enforcement is Native Americans. While Native Americans only make up 0.8 percent of the population, they make up 1.9 percent of all police killings.

 

Where is the outrage in the media for Native Americans?

 

It’s certainly not due to the lack of protests by the #NativeLivesMatter movement, as there are many of those. In fact, several of the Native American activists within the movement have been killed by police, causing even more outrage in the community.

 

Earlier this month, Native American activist, Rexdale W. Henry, 53, was arrested for failure to pay a traffic fine. Five days later, on July 14, Henry would be found dead in a Neshoba County, Mississippi jail cell.

 

Just days before Henry’s tragic death, another Native American woman was found dead in a jail cell. She was arrested for an alleged bond violation over a traffic charge. Sarah Lee Circle Bear was heard by her cellmates screaming for help prior to being found unresponsive in her cell.

 

On July 12, Paul Castaway, a Native American who suffered from schizophrenia, was gunned down by police. According to witnesses, he was holding a knife to his own throat during an episode when police shot and killed him.

 

Last December, 30-year-old Allen Locke was shot and killed by police, just one day after attending a protest against police brutality. Locke is a Native-American man who attended a #NativeLivesMatter rally that was being held locally.

 

Native American children are also victims of the state as a recent report from TruthOut pointed out earlier this month. According to the report, in South Dakota, Indigenous children make up 15 percent of the child population, but comprise more than half the children in foster care.

 

In order to profit off of the kidnapping of these children, South Dakota has claimed 100% of its foster children as ‘special needs’ for the past ten years in order to reel in extra money. The child “protective” system in South Dakota is incentivized by a $79,000 bonus per Native child.

 

The situation is nothing short of modern day human trafficking and murder, yet the media is silent.

 

Why?

 

The answer to that question is not a simple one. However, one potential aspect of why the media and the government do not address the disproportionate targeting of natives by the state, is that it’s not divisive enough.

 

The Black Lives Matter movement has been used by the government and MSM to stoke a level of divide which hasn’t existed in this country since the days of Jim Crow. This divide is a necessary function of controlled media and it’s an essential part of the state’s existence.

 

#NativeLivesMatter doesn’t foster the same divide, therefore it’s not important to the establishment. However, it is important to those of us who care about the suffering and death of our fellow humans.

 

The good news is that through the power of social media, together we can shed light on these injustices. By sharing these stories and the work of the Lakota People’s Law Project, we can help to change this paradigm.

With all that has been said and proven, in sympathy I do offer prayers and condolences to the families of the fallen officers…but what of the families of the fallen innocents who were felled (and continue to fall) by officers who continue to walk (or ride) a beat, raise a family, eat a Hot-Dog, enjoy a sip of coffee, chew on a donut, eat a cheesesteak, have a glass of beer, attend a ballgame, and simply enjoy all that life has to offer.

 

Abhorring the killing of cops via sniper(s), what would they expect from a people who have had their fill of being slaughtered? An “Uprising” is inevitable in and of all forms of society. A “BackLash” or revolt is the only thing left after everything else has been attempted.

Part Two: “The Wedding Party”

“We knew we were all doomed…all of us who knew.”

Abberline recalled the statement from one of several interviews with the six whores of ‘Cleveland Street’ in the ‘White Chapel District.’ The funeral of Martha Taibron brought them all to collusion. They needed to join forces for their very survival. They were constantly pursued by McQueen, the pimp of Nickel Street. He extorted money and sexual favors from the street walkers – ladies of the night.

“They were lured with grapes, champagne, and laudanum. And then they were all euthanized.” The inspector spoke in trance-like sentences. “They were transported and dumped.”

The inspector began interviewing professional men. He spoke with doctors, dentists, taxidermists, veterinarians, surgeons, barbers, and butchers to the disapproval, chagrin, and dismay of Scotland Yard High Officials.

“Foreigners are the culprits. They are the ones who are upsetting our economy – The Jews.”

The boasting neuro-surgeon showed pride amongst the gathering of Britain’s finest professional colleagues. This one…this Dr. Farrow, guardian to Sir William Gull; master surgeon and newly ordained member to ‘The Society and Brotherhood of Free Masons – an entity founded by Jews; glared at the inspector as he passed through the dining room of the Masonic Hall.

“It isn’t an Englishman,” said the Scotland Yard Commissioner. “Thank God.”

Dr. Farrow is the attending doctor to the Queen and the Royal Court.

When all had been exposed, the organ collecting masonic avenger lobotomized, the killings subsided. I felt that I was no longer watched by the brotherhood. Albeit, the feeling, the tense feeling of Dred overshadowed what was supposed to be peace. Inspector Abberline was once again summoned to duty. This new danger has shown its face with a sign written in blood.

To the dismay and embarrassment of Scotland Yard, Inspector Abberline did deliver the truth of the matter. He delivered a truth that Scotland Yard decided to disallow. It refused the inspector’s theory from the time he discovered the text. The text in the book was written by the founder of the ‘Free Masons.’

The blood printed sign was directed to the murder investigations by Scotland Yard personnel. The inspector dreaded answering the call. He sure as hell did not intend to go back through the ‘Gates of Hell.’ He fought against evil and won – even though it wasn’t sanctioned by the brotherhood or the royal house or his immediate supervisors.

But, answer the call he did…it was his duty to God and Country. Inspector Abberline arrived on the scene to see the sign first hand.

London Town’s Chief Commissioner was there as well. There was a large contingent of reporters and photographers breezing all about as well.

On the wall, atop the freshly butchered corpse of Mary Kelly’s White Chapel mate…Martha Taibron. The blood-stained message was posted for all to see:

“The Juwes are the men that will not be blamed for nothing”

Abberline argued that the message was written by an educated man. The point was not unlike his investigation findings and determinations.

The higher echelon was well aware of what was done to hide and cover-up the guilt and shame as well as their association with the perpetrator. The guilt of the brotherhood and all its members, including the top commanders of Scotland Yard, and the royal house; they all knew about the secret wedding sanctioned by the Catholic Church and witnessed by the ‘Whores of the White Chapel District.’

The kidnapping of Annie Crook was intent to capture her and Baby Alice. The marriage and the baby posed a direct threat to the bloodline of Queen Victoria. She exploded with anger and ordered the elimination of the two.

“How dare my son marry this thing – this creature – this harlot – this streetwalker whore who is less than the lowest commoner!” The Queen delegated the task to the Lord Chamberlin. The order was then given to Sir William Gull, ex-master neuro-surgeon, member of the Brotherhood, and in service to the Queen. This opportunity served well for the doctor’s alter ego and major organ removal, primarily the offending sexual organs of the streetwalking females of the night. Also entwined within the assignment awaited the open door sanction for revenge. The execution of traitors provided Sir William Gull with great pleasure. He hatched a sinister deed in executing the traitors to mankind and the sanctity of marriage – the abomination of fornication – the elimination of whores and prostitutes.

The assignment specifically called for the deaths of six whores from England’s White Chapel District on Cleveland Street.

The wedding party was of a private nature. Mary, Liz, Kate, Marie, Mitzi, Martha, and Anne Crook, the bride, were all present. They wore their best dresses while Anne was adorned in a brand new white wedding gown of the finest chiffon, silk, and satin. No expense was sparred. She was truly a lovely bride beneath veils of fine woven material and true love.

Prince Eddie donned his majestic white uniform of royalty. The pure silver and golden sashes with breast-pinned medals gleamed and flashed of blinding brilliance. He was accompanied by his most trusted and close assistants. These particular individuals were sworn to the greatest of secrecies. They were all loyal except for one of the most important members of royal service. Sir William Gull was succeeded by Dr. Allan Farrow who personally treated, attended, and reported directly to the Queen.

The head Priest of the Catholic Church presided over the ritual. Baby Alice was born soon after. The Prince and Anne were infatuated with one another. The sexual romance and interludes began at the White Chapel Brothel, run by a sinister, conniving, and snakely individual identified by police and colleagues as ‘McQueen.’

His position was one of ownership over the six whores in attendance. The seventh, Mary Kelly, would soon fall into the fold, one way or another. Mary was independent. She was beginning to succeed in convincing the other girls to stop paying McQueen for their non-existent protection and keep their hard earned earnings for themselves.

Eddie had become an exclusive client to Anne. She wanted for nothing and made sure to look after her sisters of the streets. McQueen had other plans for the women. The protection fees had just been increased. He also knew of the secret marriage.

“It’s in their best interest to pay me. If not, they will never work with their physical abilities again – and could possibly be found dead.”

The body was fresh. The gore of crimson was found just about everywhere in the alley. It pooled and puddled all about the body of the victim. The wounds were nearly invisible to the naked eye. Albeit, sliced with the utmost precision…the precision of a master surgeon. The organs were skillfully removed with no sign of brutal ravaging. Even the killing cut was a work of art.

New York City was not very much unlike Paris. The hustle and bustle of the people mirrored many images of many busy cities across the globe. The rain poured and then misted accompanying a thick cloudy atmosphere. The smell of breakfast delicacies and strong rich coffee permeated the ‘Garment District’ this morning. Duprae and I strolled along 7th avenue just as the Sun poked rays above and over the horizon line and the top edges of buildings and the sparse spreading of greenery.

Chaunea insisted on a ‘walk-about’ just as soon as we could get settled. Our rooms were very cozy indeed. Cozy enough to meet our immediate needs. I meticulously hung my garments with care. We really didn’t know how long we would be visiting the island city. He wanted to familiarize himself with the everyday lifestyles of the city-folk in New York. He did the same thing in Philadelphia once. I recalled our chance meeting in Baltimore while planning the trip to Paris. Was our chance meeting in that obscure library really a chance meeting? I wondered while studying his current movements. The Inspector and I first met in Baltimore City. He’d taken the position of interest in my written works during my employ with one of several news and article agencies. The interest was aroused while perusing an article; one of many publications, concerning a black bird. His reason for the office visit was to place and advertisement in the newspaper of which I was employed.

The beneficial coincidence allowed he and I to become acquaintances…a kindred spirit of sorts. We did become very close friends and eventually, like brothers.

It was highly fascinating to learn, as time progressed, that Chaunea and I thought and felt very much alike. He of course is more advanced, sharper, and keener than I.

I’ve learned and continue to learn very much from him, especially in the art of deduction, rationalization, analyzation, reasoning, and patience.

The ballast and cobble stoned streets appeared and served as they did in the aforementioned metros. The rancid wetness of early morning garbage filled the cool breeze. It caused the sinuses to tingle and the nose to itch as the multi-collaboration of aromas urging face twitching annoyance.

We were not long departed from our sea-going vessel when our American journey got underway. We breakfasted at an eatery near the corner of 34th Street and 7th Avenue. Abberline was already finishing the morning news when we entered during his nearly completed nourishment.

After completing an enjoyable greeting and eating; allowing Abberline to finish his meal, the three of us headed towards the chief inspector’s Manhattan office at the nearby police headquarters.

We walked a few blocks on 34th Street to Amsterdam Avenue. The building was a rather handsome yet large ‘Brownstone’ with gated or bared windows on the ground floor level. We climbed the stairs to the second floor landing. Turning to the left at the end of the corridor was the inspector’s office. The center of the door was of hazy non-see-through glass. Printed on the outside was ‘Chief Inspector Abberline, Scotland Yard Investigations.’

Abberline was a tall yet thinly muscular man with long wavy black hair which surpassed his shirt collar. He combed it straight back. It hung in length to just above his shoulder. Many would consider him a handsome man. His apparel was not shabby, new, or top shelf; although neat and sharp in appearance, did not offend a normal eye.

The office atmosphere was brilliant and highly professional. It was fully equipped with all the latest gadgetry and literature. It also held the latest in communication, the telephone, and telegraph as well as a wireless.

The chief inspector stepped out from behind his desk with an extended his right palm, gesturing a handshake. We, as gentlemen and professionals, exchanged greetings and other pleasantries. Refreshments were offered and accepted as we made ourselves comfortable.

“Gentlemen, it brings me much pleasure to know the invitation to assist in this investigation has not been wasted.”

Queen Victoria ranted and raved. She threw her golden goblet across the room. It skidded off the gold-silver-and chrome laden table and hit the wall. The wall was painted ivory-white. The windows trimmed in shimmering brass, draped with silk and satin dressings on soft and dark pastels. The cup was filled with claret as it splashed all over. The chalice ended its flying and ricocheting journey after the wall by bouncing off the shoulder of a servant who simply passed by.

“We want them disposed of… We do not wish to know or care in which manner this thing is done. We want this matter dissolved and forgotten forthwith…or closer heads to thee, will surely serve instead.”

The first to disappear was the baby’s mother, ‘Anne Crooke.’ She was taken by ‘The Royal Secret Service Police’ while making love to the ‘Crown Prince.’ She had no idea it was ‘Prince Edward Albert Victor, the Duke of Clarence,’ and not simply ‘Albert’ whom she was atop; riding and writhing in quintessential rapture. Their combined effort of vigorous pumping up and down, lost in a sea of passion, had no clue of the impending assault. He caressed her naked flesh with pleasingly aggressive lust and the determination of fulfillment.

They hadn’t noticed the booming and thundering noises made by the invading usurpers of the White Chapel Brothel, of which their flat was located. Violently, pleasantly, engaged in the throes of sweet pleasure and passion, combined with that of pure love, the ex-harlot and the Duke did not hear the noise. The engagement was brutally and explosively interrupted when the bedroom door blew open and inward against the fast hold of the hinged frame. The door slammed against the papered wall as the fasteners within the wood splintered away from the wall that made every effort to hold. The abrupt action allowed the ingress of the horde to descend upon them, subduing them and separating them…forever.

The sexual fluids dripped all over the satin sheets as the ruffians ripped and pulled them apart. The burley men lifted the terrified Anne right up in a partially wrapped bed sheet, throwing her unclothed, down the stairs into the waiting arms of more darkly clad ruffians. They, in turn, carried her to the waiting carriage of black with six Black Stallions who kicked and whinnied to a full gallop. The mysterious escaping Black Carriage bore the royal markings of the majesty on its outer doors.

Prince Eddie, whom the local populace knew as ‘Albert’ or ‘Eddie’ was shocked and horrified. He was under the impression that he was the target of an assassination. Little did he know, the palace had known of his secreted rendezvous with the ex-whore for some time. She had become his exclusive concubine well before they were married; a wedding unknown to the Queen. Recent determinations, secretly discovered, were divulged to ‘Her-Majesty’ – Eddie was being treated for syphilis.

He was secretly taken to an undisclosed location. Anne was shuffled off to a nearby asylum, viciously interrogated, tortured, and finally lobotomized, ensuring the vile secret would remain a secret.

Fortunately, ‘Baby Alice’ was in the safe-keeping of Mary Kelly. She’d been left with Mary the night before. The following day presented the newly-weds with their six month wedding anniversary. Their daughter, Alice, was one year and eight days of age.

Arguments have been founded upon the fiction of truth. An investigation into said truth was quite possibly the objective to the point. Some have said that paralleling the inessential facts surrounding the murder of a young girl in New York as it relates to the double-murder in Paris, Madame L’Espanaye and the young mademoiselle, her daughter.

Abberline explained his departure from us in a brief manner to which he expelled our suspicions. He felt that our investigation was at a close in Paris while the threat carried itself across the waters into America; the facts addressing the murder of Miss Mary Cecelia Rogers.

Although the young woman’s death occasioned an intense and long enduring excitement, my journalistic intuition kept nudging me to not put trust in this inspector from Scotland Yard. He did not mention to the ‘Chevalier – Duprae,’ and me, his involvement of the coincidences surrounding the murder in Paris and the one in New York.

In my mind, I endeavored to depict some very remarkable features in the mental characters of my friend, ‘The Chevalier – Lord Charles ‘Chaunea’ Alexander Duprae.

The affair surrounding the deaths of Madame L’Espanaye and her daughter were placed on suspension. We could not dismiss the case due to its familiarity with this one in New York. Duprae’s concentration is now focused on the inspector and this case of ‘Mary Rogers,’ aka ‘Marie Roget.’

Before jumping head-first into the case, we decided to break from our mental meeting with ‘Chief Inspector Frederick Quincy Abberline’ of Sussex County in the Southeast of England. We felt that we deserved a much needed rest…a little ‘R and R;’ and maybe a little bit of debauchery and drink. The idea of smoking the plant was also entertained upon the undesired relapsing into old habits of moody revelry, I was found to be in a prone position nearly at all times during the dream-like binges; I do love the drink, love-making, and smoke; to abstraction. I really fell in with the humor; and continuing to occupy our chambers, we gave the future to the winds. We decided to slumber tranquilly in the present, weaving in and out dully around the world in dreams and allusion. We would take up the New York investigation soon after our mini-vacation; after all…Abberline in on the case.

Chaunea and I took a near drunken walk down Broadway. We sampled the area delicacies and needless to say, the beers and liquors as well. The neighboring taverns were cordial and amicable enough. I do believe that some of them, patrons and staff, did recognize us. Several recognized the famous detective via the newspapers and newsreel footage portrayed in the moving picture houses. The others who knew of me through my written works in magazines, newspapers, and periodicals. I dare say my printed image did me a great service as well.

“Welcome Monsieur Duprae, would you and Monsieur Poe like a quiet table in the rear or one close to the stage and show? The bar is also available for your convenience!”

The tavern was soft lit and full of people. The ‘Black Maître de’ seated us nicely into a cozy dark corner which allowed an excellent view of the stage and the entire establish as well.

The audience, primarily people of color from every continent imaginable, added an extra bit of flavor to our enchanted evening. The both of us do like an integrated crowd, made up of many different types of folk, cultures, and lifestyles. We both found that simply invigorating and fascinatingly wonderful. France and England had its fair share of the world’s populace, but not like here in the United States. The jazz music was unbelievable. It was magnifique and ever so delightful.

We must have spent the entire night here at the ‘Che De Lounge’ after our visit to the ‘Bamville.’ The same type of people gathered there as well. Chaunea enjoyed himself immensely. The bronze colored deva kept him upstairs for nearly two hours before rejoining me at our table.

We’d sampled many types of enjoyment this night. Our jumpstart of marijuana and bitters was topped off this morning with French Champagne, while the wine and cocaine flourished throughout the night. Chaunea did entertain the thought of visiting the ‘Chinese House of Pleasure.’ The address was supplied by the Chief Inspector. He swore us to secrecy when we parted for the evening.

“This is where I’ll be for a few hours – care to join me?” We both declined and shook our heads in unison while accepting the note for a possible visit later during our stay in the Americas. Chaunea talked himself out of the visit because he knew one hour could quite possibly turn into three days or more.

Just prior to sunrise, we did have our fill of pleasurable indulgences…it was time for sleep and rest before returning to work.

The singer on stage, as we prepared for our departure, was a petite ginger-brown woman with a masterfully overpowering groin for a singing voice. It was simply magnifying. The song she sang brought about memories of a story I once heard. Chaunea appeared to be in a recollective state of mind as well. The story brought memories of a not so long ago occurrence back in England – the ‘Family Talbot!’

The song she sung was mystifying yet entertainingly and eerily suggestive. It was more bluesy than that of jazz music. Its lyrics mesmerized us. The Chief Inspector also came to mind:

“I got early this morning, so I could walk the floor. I’ve got to hit the streets cause there’s a wolf outside my door.

The bill collectors are calling, and my kids need better shoes…gonna go to church on Sunday, cause I’ve got nothin left ta loose…

And it’s a good day…it’s a real good day for the blues.

It’s raining cats and dogs outside, and I’m lookin for a job. The man I worked for laid me off; Lord, I worked for him real hard! But I won’t let my kids go hungry, no matter what I have ta do…

And it’s a good day; it’s a real good day for da blues.

Things are gettin better, the check is in the mail. I just threw my last dime down the wihin well…

and it’s a good day, it’s a real good day for da blues.

I got up early this morning, so I could walk the floor. I’ve got to hit the streets, cause there’s a wolf outside my door. The bill collectors are calling, and my kids need better shoes, gonna go ta church on Sunday, cause I’ve got nothin left ta loose.

And it’s a good day…it’s a real good day for da blues.”

The song’s lyrics seemed to stay with us on our short walking journey back to our hotel. For me, I kept seeing the sinister figure of the Chief Inspector, glaring from the darkened corner of the flat owned by ‘Madame L’Espanaye. The vision continually haunted me to no end…

We expected to be awakened by the charms of harmonious chatter and laughter. We looked forward to the sensual arousal of breakfast aromas dazzling our every senses to complement the happiness of the nostrils. It did not occur.

We were abruptly awakened by two burly New York City Cops. They were not smiling while we twitched and bitched about; tossing and turning in our beds.

Abberline was standing in a pool of blood. His gloved hands dripped twelve-hour-old gore. The right hand held a freshly lit cigarette… His face was ghostly white; bloodless.

Eddie and Isabelle were ill-greeted when the odious oaken doors opened. The six-foot nine inch Brother called ‘Lucious,’ stood directly in front of them. His stern and stoic glare created pause on the part of the invading pair.

“What do you want here?” snapped Lucious. “We have had our share of usurpers…desecrators! Go away, go home before you of the outside cause more grief, agony, and world disaster.”

“Please Brother… We have traveled long and far. It is cold and damp – we have no shelter for the night – would you turn us away? I have a young frail woman with me who is ill! Please grant us shelter for just one night?”

Brother Lucious bade them enter and immediately went into a ranting rave:

“A Protestant Physician, Casper Peucer, told of the full-blown conception of witches’ going to a Sabbat, led to the assumption of parallel gatherings of wolves.

The story was repeatedly told by demonologists with regard to ‘lycanthropy.’ The increase in trials for witchcraft at the end of the sixteenth century led people to believe a man could actually become a lycanthrope or werewolf [Germany: Wahr-Wolffe; French: Gerulf or Loup-garu; Italy: Lupo Manaro].”

Many people on the planet profess to know just about everything. There are those who know it all. There are those who know absolutely nothing but boast to the contrary. Haven’t you met people who know everything about anything and everything about everybody? Sure you have…

How many Philadelphians recall the summer of 2003 and the insertion of those beige and red double-decker buses running around in Philadelphia’s Center City District and Fairmount Park? Today they are owned and operated by a reputable local tour bus company. I’m sure many do remember the infusion of those novelty buses from England’s London Town, “The Big Bus!”

They were a bit old indeed, but fun nonetheless…

Now dig this… How many Philadelphian’s and its’ visitors recall that it was a Black Man Supervising its Corp. of Dedicated Driver Operators? Oh yes, the Driver Operations and Garage Housing was run and operated by none other than your neighboring author, Gregory V. Boulware! He was hired as the first lead driver to head up the company’s major campaign of a fleet of ‘Double Decker Tour Buses in Philadelphia’s touring industry and the major sites in and around the city including the ‘Art Museum’ area , “Let Us Storm The Bastille” – The Northeastern State Penitentiary, and The Philadelphia Zoological Gardens, ‘America’s First and Oldest Zoo!’

Leading them down a darkened corridor of musty aromas and candle-smoke, the Brother continued speaking, “I must tell you this because your life and the lives of all human-kind are threatened by the danger herein.”

The Brother could not disallow the need for shelter, especially on a cold, dark, and damp night such as this. The young frail woman did indeed appear to be ill, just as Eduardo described. However, the Brother vividly recalled what had happened a few short months ago. The tragic event reflected the deeds of another sick and weary traveler…one Mr. David Ellington.

“I will allow you both sanctuary, but it will come at a risk of your own. The evil one has been let loose upon the world. We of the ‘Keep’ expect his return…hopefully well-guarded by the warriors and warlords who are in the service of ‘Halle’ (Hebrew for Father/God) and not revenge seeking minions of the ‘Beelzebub.’”

Brother Kristophus looked this way and that way as he unlocked and opened another oversized double gate-like doors. He allowed them in and warned of the necessity of being interviewed by Brother Jerome. Brother Lucious had simply disappeared into the blackness of the castle. He explained to the intrepid yet spent duo how the Brothers of the ‘Keep’ would not oblige welcoming treats or gestures. Kristophus made it clear that they are perceived as the enemy, the usurpers; the violators of peace and harmony. Instructions on behavior and body language, was conveyed by the Brother, a history of sorts; concerning immediate and long awaited horrifying terror.

Isabelle was comforted with warm compresses, the drying of her clothes, and a warm woolen blanket. She rested in one of the candle-lit rooms near the ‘Keep’s’ front entrance. Eduardo and Brother Kristophus sat close by.

The Brother continued on with preparing them for what’s possible to come. He told serious stories of malice and ill-will upon man by man, then and now.

’Herman Loher’ fell into the hands of a witch judge, circa 1650 A.D. He wrote:

“Is it just, if a condemned person were forced to fight with lions, bears, and wolves for his life, and prevented from protecting himself, since he is deprived of weapons of every device?”

…Hochnotige Unterthanige Wemiitige Klageder Frommen Unschiiltigen (A Most Pressing Humble Complaint of the Pious Innocents).

Loher was not one who allowed his imagination to run wild Mr. Hushmanzata; he was in the thick of it – The Great and Un-holy Inquisitions!”

His book is a one-of-a-kind edition! It was the only one in existence. He had been an official of the law court at ‘Rheinbach,’ near Bonn, during the two fantastic waves of persecution in 1631 and 1636, which killed one person out of every two families. In the proceeding hundred years, the village had not known one case of imprisonment, let alone an execution. But things changed with the visitation of a special itinerant judge, Franz Buirmann.

Loher, as one of the court’s seven local assessors, saw terror grip the village, and contributed to a common bribe to get the judge to go elsewhere. Buirmann went, but returned in 1636. Loher then joined the mayor and one other official in opposing Buirmann, but they received little support; and Loher, having quietly liquidated as much of his property, real and personal, barely escaped with his family to Amsterdam. Buirmann brazenly confiscated the remainder of Loher’s property on August 3, 1636.

Loher became a Dutch Citizen, set up business again, and lived to be over eighty years of age. Loher felt compelled to record his experiences in order to enlighten the authorities for justice in a uniform criminal procedure among humble folk in small towns and villages.

Three points were stressed in Loher’s writings:

1) innocent people who are tried in the witch courts are tortured and die innocent; 2) victims lie when they are tortured; 3) all victims can be forced to confess anything, especially when the torture is repeated.

The author urged the local ‘Princes’ in Germany to scrutinize the court records, to reduce the high fees the officials received for trying each witch, and above all to stop the torture.

Loher vividly describes how a typical witch judge conducted a trial, raging at and cursing the accused – one such judge, Franz Buirmann:

“You apostate, you witch, you dumb dog! Confess your sin of witchery; reveal the names of your accomplices! You filthy whore, you devil’s wanton, you sack cloth-maker; you dumb toad, speak and confess in God’s name! Swallow the holy salt! Drink the holy water! Tell who it was that taught you witchcraft, and whom you saw and recognized at the witches’ Sabbat.

Then you will not be tortured any longer, but have eternal peace and life.”

According to the book and a recorded encyclopedia entry, Loher started collecting his materials when he came to Amsterdam, but did not publish his book until 1676, at eighty-one years of age. He delayed publication for fear of reprisals from the authorities. Upon his realization of the need to speak out, ‘The Hochnotige’ was illustrated with plates of witch torchers – the book was secretly entrusted to one of Loher’s illustrious colleagues and friend, Johannes Kelpius Senior, father of Johannes Kelpius, II; founder of the ‘Rosicrucians,’ forebearer to the ‘Kelpius Society.’ He was given the book for safe keeping before Loher agreed to publishing copies available for the public at large. Prior to that, it was later exposed for a wide Kelpian circulation. The original copy remained with the ‘Kelpians’ who migrated to America in the 1700s.

Some of the books content included several celebrated trials for lycanthropy.

“Listen to me, my friends.” The candle light dimmed and the room appeared to further darken. “This story is very true and all too real… Believe it or not, once, there was an old ‘Nanny-goat’ who had seven kids. She was just as fond of them as any mother over her children. One day, she was going into the woods to fetch some food for them, so she called them all up to her and said:

“My dear children, I am going into the woods to fetch our food. Beware of the dastardly, sneak…the wolf!

If he gets into the house, he will kill you and eat you up, skin and hair, and all. That fiendish rascal often disguises himself, but you will know him by his rough voice and black feet.”

The kids replied, “Oh we will be very careful, Dear Mother. You can assuredly be quite happy about our awareness.”

Bleating tenderly, the old goat went off to her work.

Before long, someone knocked upon the door, and said:

“Open the door, sweet children. Your momma has come back and brought something for each of you.”

Now the kids knew full well whose voice it was. They knew it was the wolf.

“We will not open this door,” they answered. “You are not our mother. She possesses a soft gentle voice; while yours is rough and coarse and we are quite sure that you are the ‘Big Bad Wolf.’

With that, he went away to a shop and bought a lump of chalk, which he ate, and it made his voice quite soft. He then went back and knocked on the door of the goat’s house and said:

“Open the door sweet children. Your momma has returned home from the woods and has brought something for each of you.”

Slick as he thought he was, he put his paws on the window sill, right were the kids could see them. The said to him:

“We will not open the door. Our mother does not have black feet like you; you are the big bad wolf…slick and sly as you think you are!”

Then the wolf ran off to a baker, and said:

“I have bruised my feet; will you please put some cooling dough on them?”

When the baker fulfilled his request, the wolf ran off to the miller and said:

“Sprinkle some flour on my feet.”

The miller thought, “This slick ole wolf is up to no good. I wonder what he’s up to.” He refused to comply with his request.

The wolf then said to the miller, “If you don’t do it, I will kill you and eat you up!”

So the miller frightened as he was, complied with his requests and whitened the wolf’s paws.

For a third time, the wolf approached the door and said:

“Open the door, sweet children. Your dear mother has come home with something for each of you from the woods.”

The wary kids were overly cautious due to the last two visits. Show us your feet first, so that we may be sure you are our mother.”

The wolf did as they asked. He placed his paws on the window sill. When they saw that they were white, they believed all the things he said, and opened the door. Of course it was the big bad wolf that walked in. The kids were terrified and frightened out of their wits. They attempted to run and hide. One of the kids ran under the table, the second jumped into bed, the third jumped into the oven, the fourth ran into the kitchen, the fifth climbed into the cupboard, the sixth jumped into the washtub, and the seventh hid in the tall clock-case. The wolf found them all except the last. He made short work of them…he swallowed one behind the other except the youngest one who hid in the clock-case. The wolf did not find him.

When he had satisfied his appetite, he took himself out of the house and into the woods, where he laid down and fell fast asleep.

Not long after the deep slumbering, the old nanny-goat came back from the woods.

Oh what a horrifically terror-filled sight met her eyes! The door of the house was left standing wide open. The table, chairs, shelving, benches, and other furnishings were overturned, broken, and thrown about. The washing bowl was smashed to atoms. The covers and pillows were torn from the bed. The old nanny-goat screamed and searched all over the house while looking for her children. They were nowhere to be found.

One by one she called them by name, no one answered. When she called the youngest, a tiny voice answered:

“I am here Mother! I’m hiding in the clock-case!”

She ran to the grandfather clock and freed her youngest kid. He told her all that had transpired throughout the hideous occurrence. The mother goat cried and sobbed in unholy despair. In her grief, she went out, the youngest offspring ran alongside. When they arrived at the meadow, there lay the big bad wolf under a large shade-tree. The branches shook with his strong and powerfully loud snores. They examined him from every side, and they could plainly see movement within his distended belly.

“Ah, Heavens to Betsy!” thought the mother-goat. “Is it possible that my poor children are still alive after the wolfish feast?”

She sent the youngest kid running back to the house to fetch scissors, needles, and thread. She then cut a hole in the sleeping beasts’ side. Just as she had begun to cut, the hole in the wolf’s side was a bit larger than a button, a kid popped out its head, When the hole was big enough, all six kids jumped out of the wolf. They were all alive, and suffered not one injury. In his greed, the beast had swallowed without chewing or biting – he swallowed all of them whole.

The mother hugged and kissed her babies while skipping and jumping all about full of joy and happiness. She momentarily stopped the fervent and eager joy. Realizing that this monster could awaken, she sent the kids for rocks and stones. The mother goat and her kids stuffed the wolf full of stones and rocks. She then quickly sewed him back up, without his having noticing anything at all.

Finally after several hours had passed, the wolf had enjoyed enough rest and sleep. When he tried to get up, he felt unusually heavy. He also felt very thirsty. He wanted to get a drink of fresh spring water to quell his thirst. As soon as he began to move, the stones began to rattle and roll on his insides. He cried aloud:

“What’s this rumbling and tumbling that sets my stomach grumbling? I thought it was the flesh and bones of the six kids inside. I find it to feel like nothing but rolling stones.”

Stumbling about, the wolf found it difficult to manage or maintain his stability. When he reached the spring, the unwary monster stooped over the water to drink. The heavy stones dragged him down faster than a weighted submariner. He drowned miserably. He felt as though he were cheated and robbed of something – his life maybe? He swore revenge from the watery grave.

When the she-goat and her seven kids saw what happened, they came running up and cried aloud – “The wolf is dead, the wolf is dead! Hooray!” And they danced and cheered with joy and happiness; they and their mother.”

The Brother held fast the attention of Eduardo and Isabelle. “This story reminds me of an old tale my Grandmother used to read to my siblings and me at bedtime – it sounds like something from the ‘Brothers Grimm of Grimm’s Fairy Tales.”

“I’ve said to you once Mr. Hushmanzata, you may believe what you wish – but I advise you to take heed to the message…”

Brother Kristophus looked up into the eyes of the two travelers. He arose to his feet from the sitting position and reached for his six foot walking staff. Nodding to the figure standing behind them; Brother Joseph had entered the room unnoticed. After turning to see Brother Joseph, the pair turned back to Brother Kristophus. But he was gone. It was like he was never there at all – he simply vanished.

Brother Joseph began speaking while motioning the duo to follow him. “I am Brother Joseph, the Guide. I will prepare you and bring you to the door of Brother Jerome, The Guardian Watcher. During the audience, it is he who will decide whether or not your stay is welcomed or not.”

The Brother walked and talked without turning to look at them. He picked up right where Brother Kristophus left off…

“A fox was one day talking to a wolf about the strength of man. The wolf claimed the title for being stronger and smarter.

‘No animals, ‘he said, ‘could withstand man, and they were obliged to use cunning to hold their own against him.’

The wolf answered, ‘If ever I happened to see a man, I should attack him all the same.’

‘Well, I can help you do that,’ said the fox. ‘Come to me early tomorrow, and I will show you one.’

The wolf was early to rise, and the fox took him out to a road in the forest, traversed daily by a huntsman. First an old discharged soldier came.

‘Is that a man, asked the wolf?’

‘No, answered the fox. He has been a man.’

After that, a little boy appeared on his way to school.

‘Is that a man?’

‘No,’ he is going to be a man.’

At last the huntsman made his appearance, his gun on his back, and his hunting-knife at his side. The fox said to the wolf – ‘look! Here comes a man. You may attack him, but I will make off to my hole!’

The wolf set on the man, who said to himself when he saw him. ‘What a pity my gun isn’t loaded with a leaden-metal ball,’ and fired a charge of black powder in the wolf’s face. The wolf made a wry face, but was not frightened, and attacked him again.

The huntsman gave the wolf a second charge. The beast swallowed the pain, and rushed at the huntsman again. This time he drew his bright and shiny but large hunting-knife, and slashed out to the left and to the right with it. The blade struck home and smeared itself with streaming blood. The wolf ran back to the fox and said:

“Brother Fox, Brother Fox!”

…The fox turned to the wolf and asked, “How did you get on with the man?”

“Brother Fox. I’ll tell you this – I never thought the strength of man would be what it is. First, he took a stick from his shoulder, and blew into it, and something flew into my face, which tickled frightfully. Then he blew into it again, and it flew into my eyes and nose like lightning and hail – then he drew a shiny rib out of his body, and struck at me with it until I was more dead than alive!”

The fox looked up at the wolf and asked “why are you clutching your haunches with both hands?”

“Well Brother Fox, I don’t think I’ll be able to sit or make a discharge from my rectum again. I do believe that I will be dead momentarily. Not only did the shiny broad and sharp rib cut at me real good, I heard the man scream out:

‘If I do not have at the ready, a leaden-metal ball, I sure as hell have these silver ones. I then heard and saw the black powder explosion from the stick he carried. I turned to run but fell down when the shiny orb struck and pierced my behind. The pain that I felt was indescribable. It felt nothing like the orbs thrown at me before. They only itched after contact and caused me to scratch. But this one has caused me to bleed and feel pain – this pain along with the pain and bleeding caused by his big shiny and sharpened rib. I feel my strength and consciousness ebbing Brother Fox. I am dying while man is stronger than we…’

“Now you see,” said the fox, “what a braggart you are. You’ve thrown your toothy face out so far that you can’t get it back again.”

Eddie and Isabelle were left standing there, facing each other. They turned to question Brother Joseph. He was gone.

The broad oaken door in front of them slowly, very slowly opened along with the sound of an eerie groaning creek.

“Come in, enter and be seated my children.” The loud and strongly masterful commanding voice frightened them. Seated behind a large desk of wooden antiquity was the tall and sinister figure of Brother Jerome.

The sound of a howl and a loud strong bone-chilling growl emanated from the shadows and aided the two in hurrying into the quarters and presence of the ‘Keeps’ number one occupant.

‘You have no doubt been educated of our world perplexing dilemma and responsibilities by the good Brothers; have you not?”

The uneasy travelers trembled slightly in his presence.

“Yes Brother Jerome,” Eduardo answered. Isabelle shook her head in agreement.

“Good,” said Brother Jerome. “I can’t emphasize enough the gravest of dangers awaiting the world have been securely suppressed and confined within the walls of this Keep. Recently the father of all evil escaped from imprisonment due to the interaction with an outsider. His invasive and damaging intervention allowed for such an atrocity to occur. We’ve warned him in every way possible…to no avail. We have pleaded with him while we aided in his healing! All we wanted him to do was leave us in peace…leave us in our world of solitude; our business. We entertained and enlightened him. How did he re-pay our indulgences and hospitable generosities? He did not take heed of our warnings! It was he who aided in re-releasing of that horrible man-killing entity upon the vulnerable existence of mankind! The goodness of it all is his intrepid search and tracking of the beast. Along with the aid of sanctuary Brothers across the globe, we will soon have him back inside, with the grace and will of God.

And now we have you two… Can you not wonder why we do not offer or accept hospitality or sanctuary from or to outsiders?”

Brother Jerome held their full attention. When Eduardo and Isabelle attempted to explain their reasons for the intrusion, the holy-man shrugged and waved for them to stop talking.

“I am fully aware of why you are here and how you have come upon us. So that we fully understand what it is you intend to do from this point forward, remains to be seen.

In order for us to properly protect you while you are here, we must provide you with as much pertinent information as heavenly possible. You will need to arm yourselves – prepare yourselves, should we fail to do so; no man-made weapons will defeat this evil. The only salvation is guidance from the ‘Most-High’ and his humble but vigilant disciples.

Brother Jerome reached for a book high up on the highest of shelves in the northwest wall of his office. The volume was old and dusty but firm and fully intact. The thickness of it readily suggested an abundance of recorded knowledge.

The holy-man sat back down behind his opulent oaken desk while motioning the travelers to do the same. He then fumbled about the inside of his robes and produced a small pair of reading spectacles. The brother proceeded in further espoused enlightenment. He leafed through a few pages before reading to them samples of the text therein:

“It is said that once a lion planned to go live in another land. Then all the beasts held a convention. He told them all of his intention, and they ‘should select a king.’” He thought he’d not be back again. The beasts requested that he provide another lion. He answered that he had no heir. He had not raised one – he did not dare. Among themselves must be their guest to find the one who’d govern best. And thus it was they who chose the wolf, for no one else was bold enough to dare take anyone but he (even though all of them thought the wolf was a villain).

Yet he assured them all, and swore he’d love them best forever. They went to the lion next and stated the wolf had now been designated as king. He said to doubt not in the least. That they had picked a clever beast, extremely fast and versatile, provided that his heart and will were as they ought to be – sincere.

But one thing caused the lion fear – that the wolf for counselor would pick the fox who knew well how to trick; both are insidious and base.

If from the wolf they wanted peace, on holy relics he must swear that he’d touch no beast anywhere and that forever he would not eat any meat, no matter what.

The wolf then most willingly swore to more than what was asked of him. But when he had been bound by oath, and whether lion set out, the wolf had a vicious craving for some meat. He made plans for deceitful purposes. He intended to get the beasts to all agree and give him leave accordingly.

The wolf them summoned a ‘Doe Deer,’ and secretly questioned her. If for his love of truth, she would tell about wolf’s breath – how did it smell?

She said it smelled terrible, almost unbearable. The wolf was very angry then. He sent a summons to his men. He questioned all those who had come. He asked them what kind of sentence would be given when someone spoke such things to his Lord’s face, such words of shame, slur, and disgrace. Should this one die, they all attested. The wolf then had the deer arrested. While they all watched, he killed the deer and ate the better part of her.

To help cover his crime, he proclaimed that he’d share portions of the kill, what remained, with them.

After his hunger pangs had ceased, he called for yet another beast. He questioned her in the same way as the first. How smelled his breath – what would she say? The poor thing would much rather lie than tell the truth for fear of suffering and death. So she replied that she knew of and smelled no scent. It was fragrant and very excellent.

The wolf summoned his cabinet and asked his barons, when they met, what punishment he should decree to one who would lie so deceitfully. They all judged that she must die. When they caught her, they brought her before the wolf. He killed her, tearing her limb-from-limb, and ate her all up right in front of them.

Time passed. The wolf observed a monkey. He was fat and quite well fed. Oh how he had coveted that monkey. He desperately wanted to eat him, to devour him.

One day, the wolf went to him. He inquired about his breath – did it stink or smell quite sweat – “what do you think?”

The monkey was extremely sly. He was in no way intending to die. So he replied that he didn’t know. The wolf didn’t know what to do. The monkey could not be condemned because no intended harm was done.

The wolf went to bed feigning illness. He complained to all the beasts. He thought he would never get well. They all came in turn, paying him a call. They sent out for doctors so that they may know if he’d be well again. The doctors were all at a loss to know. None of them found or saw a thing wrong nor could they find a cause. There was no injury to cause such a mood. If only he would desire some food!

“I have desired food, good doctors. I have entertained no other wish for some time now. I have had no other wish except to eat some monkey flesh. Of course you know of my oath, where I loath to touch another beast unless I can justify it very well; my barons could ratify it!”

They all gathered together and gave this view:

“That is what he must do. There is no cure for what ails his heart’s desire, no cure.”

Their remedies could not be sure. When the wolf king heard of what they advocated, he seized the monkey, killed him, and ate him. On all in turn, one-by-one, sentence was passed:

His oath to none of them was fast or sure.

Thus by the wise man we are taught that we, no matter what, must not ever make a wicked man ‘seignior,’ nor show to such a one honor.

His loyalty is as much a pretense with strangers as it is with his close friends. And toward his people he will at as did the wolf, with his sworn pact.

Brother Jerome closed the book and stared at the man and woman for what seemed like a long moment.

“They say there is no sin in killing a beast, only in killing a man… But where does one begin and the other end?”

Isabelle and Eduardo looked at one another and then back at Brother Jerome in bewilderment. They had no answer to give.

Brother Jerome smiled and rose to his feet. He walked over to the bookshelf and returned the big book to its proper place. Breaking the silence, he asked, “Why is it, the so-called educated, do not have or acquire the good sense of knowing better?”

Brother Jerome walked over to the window and peered at the full moon. It provided a brilliant light against the blackened nighttime sky. It cast a broad spectrum of white, silver, and grey light over all that was touched by its glow. He motioned for the pair to come over and join his gaze. Once they arrived, he pointed to a field of shrubbery. It appeared like a field of black foliage in the night. The Brother explained to them in the day light, the plants are a brilliant green with small and vividly white blossoms when I bloom. They only bloom in the light of the full moon.

The puzzled man and woman looked at each one another with frightful bewilderment and astonishment. Somehow, the explanation had contained…a familiar ring to it; an eerie memory. They heard a growl. It was an intensely loud growl and not too far away. It, the growl, was followed by a ferociously sinister howl-like that of a wolf.

Shaken with fright and ice-cold fear, they turned to see Brother Jerome standing behind them, clutching tightly to his walking staff. He stared at them intently and began to speak – almost trance-like…

“Even a man, who is pure of heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolf-bane blooms and the Autumn Moon is bright!”

Brother Jerome’s frightful yet stoic during his trance-like look broke the silence once again…

“Well now my dear, you cannot leave here tonight even though we do not want you.”

Eddie questioned his statement and the meaning of why they couldn’t leave.

“Eduardo,” the Brother took him aside so that Isabelle could not hear his words. “You and your companion cannot leave because she bears the mark of death…”

“Bullshit Mr. Holy Man!” Isabelle could clearly see that whatever the holy man said to Eddie surely shook him up – and she knew the conversation was about her as well. “She hasn’t got a mark on her! She only felt a little sick and feverish because we were caught out in the elements… What damned mark of death? Man, you all must be crazy or high on something in here – you’re all full of shit! We’ve got enough for our research and story. Come on ‘Izzy,’ we’re getting the hell out of this Looney bin!”

Eduardo reached for the tearfully and frightened woman. They started for the door.

“STOP!” shouted the monk, STOP Mr. Hushmanzata – should you and she leave here tonight you will surely meet your deaths!”

The horror-filled pair kept moving toward the door.

“STOP Mr. Hushmanzata – look at the right palm of her hand!”

They stopped moving and stepped back away from the door. Eduardo turned Isabelle’s hands over, palms up. Shock, spine tingling horror, and blood curdling terror would not be strong enough words to describe their current demeanor or disposition. The shadowy image of the five-pointed pentagram – the five pointed star that disappeared and re-appeared on the entire palm of her hand gave them blue vein cold fright. It brought them to a high level of indescribable fear and graveyard-cold terror that no one has ever been able to present to a living soul. They backed away from the door, fumbling for the chairs they recently occupied as Brother Jerome attempted to provide some form of comfort.

“I’m not at all averse to the idea or belief that Kelpius may have been murdered,” said Rafael Piccalleo. He makes the statement while glancing back at me in a mischievous manner.

“He managed to bring quite a few valuables and artifacts with him from Europe. One of which, I might add, is a fascinating refractive sundial. When filled with water, time appears to be moving backwards, or in reverse. This reference of Biblical proportions is highly significant to the Rosicrucians. A piece like that would, I believe, drive a person to murder for its possession. Many of these irreplaceable treasures are still in circulation today.”

I’ve managed to secure an interview with a Mr. Rafael Piccaleo, a former docent for the Wissahickon Wildlife Association. He granted the interview based on his curiosity of what I intended to write. He assured me of the Rosicrucian desire for complete and utter privacy, but would assist me in telling the truth about the order. His wiry physic and intense yet comforting charming mannerism complemented his long greying hair allowed me to feel quite at ease with him. This settling behavior opened a comfort zone while listening to his raptured recitation. He was highly excited to spread the word of goodness, like that of a religious missionary discovering the new world and a horde of people waiting to be saved. I knew him to be a stone mason by trade. Mr. Piccaleo considered the past-time of treasure hunting enjoyable.

“I seek the greatest treasure that the world has ever known, and that is the truth.”

He motioned for me to gather my things. We then packed our belongings into a waiting SUV. We arrived, sooner than I thought, to the parking area on ‘Forbidden Drive.’

We spent several hours clambering around and through mounds of shrubbery and thickets. Piccaleo talked while we walked and climbed. He recounted several different facets of Kelpius’ history. He accredits Kelpius with astounding alchemical abilities as well as being the first teacher in the ‘New World’ to offer free education to all, regardless of race or ethnicity.

Piccaleo is enraptured as much by the Kelpius legend as he is about history. He has extensively researched both obsessively while being unable to resist adding his own flourished by tangentially connecting Kelpius to everything from ancient Egyptians to the Holy Grail.

Many of the German artifacts that arrived in America with Kelpius and his followers, Piccaleo believes are still scattered around Philadelphia’s vast park lands.

We came upon a rock outcropping that Rafael believes the monks used for astrological observations and the possible site of their worship hall. It’s located directly under the ‘Henry Ave. Bridge.’ While observing these stones and prayer locations, Piccaleo produces a book from his hiking pack. It’s a local history book relating the legend of Kelpius’ death.

Piccaleo cited Alan Holm, an architect, founded the Kelpius Society in 1986. He became fascinated with the story and legend after a chance encounter with a group of Rosicrucians who happened to be worshipping near the Kelpius cave in the Wissahickon Valley Green location.

“We’re not a bunch of people walking around in robes chanting through the woods,” states Holm in Rafael’s book. “We want to be taken seriously as an organization – maybe some of our members do that sort of thing, and that’s fine…but both sides have a place here.

We approach a portal to one of the caves and Piccaleo cautioned me to step carefully because sometimes people use that cave as a toilet.

I wondered why he pointed out that particular cave. We continued walking. The cave was dank, dark, and deep. Examining evidence along the way, our battery powered lanterns and torches allowed excellent if not limited illumination; the ruins of a cottage appeared at the exit outside the tunnel/cave into a complete patch of green life – a complete circle! In the middle of this large circle was a cottage. It was the ruins of a 19th century cottage that may have been built on the foundation of Kelpius’ house in the woods.

Arriving here, we – I was extremely excited. Piccaleo had been here before. Despite his most grandiose claims, Piccaleo makes it clear the “cave” was probably a spring house or root cellar of unknown origins and that Kelpius, given his illness, would probably not have chosen to mediate in this place – a damp pit. Piccaleo pointed to a slope in the hillside, near a spring that was actually used by the monks. He speculated that Kelpius’ secret library and alchemical lab are buried somewhere underneath that ground.

We were now standing in a little stone grotto, the current stone entranceway into the Kelpius cave. A marker honoring the monks stands erected and installed by Rosicrucians, complete with cartouches and other obscure glyphs sits nearby.

I could resist asking Piccaleo the same question that I asked the friendly neighbor. I resisted…but the dead or missing kids were now vividly upon my mind.

“Mr. Piccaleo, what do you know of the man; also from Transylvania, and possibly a passenger onboard that sailing vessel who could also be a ‘Kelpian’’ or ‘Rosicrucian’; named ‘Vlad Teppes,’ member of the order ‘Dracul?’

His face suddenly went stoic and white as marble. His manner changed abruptly. All evidence of cordiality and color was dismissed from him. Hid gaze was suddenly and allusively defiant.

“I know of no such man – no such person!”

“Then why sir,” I badgered, “why do these stone slabs, these alters, if you will, show evidence of a recent cleaning…remnants of soap and dried blood along the sides?”

A Viral Epidemic:   

The medical examiner was at a loss to explain the two puncture wounds on the rear left side of the dead boys’ neck.

My notes and research show the probability of a failed murder attempt on the head monk of the Rosicrucians – it did not specifically identify Kelpius as being the target. Two spikes of oaken wood were found in one of the caves in the Wissahickon Valley. One was on the floor, the other caked in blood, laid vertically atop the alter of cool marble.

To my horror…in my mind, fingers began to point in the direction of the hermits in the Wissahickon Valley Green. The missing children in the northeast region of the city of Philadelphia began as an accusation – as it did with the ‘Dungeon Queen.’

Native American tribes did not call their medicine people “shamans.” This is a New Age term often misapplied to Native American Spiritual Leaders by people of European descent, self-professed “medicine” people and their followers.

Native Americans, New Agers, and charlatans alike have radically augmented and revised the tenets of traditional Native American religions. “Crystal skull caretakers” sit beside Native American medicine men and medicine women, shamans and priests, and “Star Beings,” rather than buffalo, are pondered. Outraged Native Americans have entered this fray, castigating those they see exploiting traditional Native American spirituality.

These medicine men or spiritual leaders were in a different class than the other men of their tribe. This special status was not dependent on their hunting and fishing. Contact with other tribes enabled thinkers to build and expand their belief frameworks, so medicine men or spiritual leaders were more prevalent in tribes that were accessible to outsiders.

As contemporary Native American religious flowerings are best understood by first examining the origins of Native American Spirituality, all of the contemporary sects are best comprehended in light of the traditional religions. As these differ from their New Age and Christian versions, each group is also unique compared to other traditional sects. These traditional sects are best understood as a conglomerate by investigating a few individual traditional Native American religions.

Chief Gerald Glenn, the Medicine Man, was second only to the chief in importance and standing within his tribal group. His duties involved both religious interpretations and pharmacology. A good medicine man became adept at both and as a result, he was often thought of as one who possessed magical powers. Before William Penn’s holy experiment, human impact in the Pocono Mountains by Native Americans and European settlers was minimal.

The Pennsylvania Mountains was one of the last colonies to be settled in the northern region of the state. The region remained wilderness until pressure from European settlers caused and influx of Native Americans from Maryland and the Carolinas’. Glenn, a direct descendent of the Lenape Chieftain of the Penn and Lenape Peace Treaty, 1682, Chief Tammany who died in 1718, was his great-great-grandfather. His wife, a Huron Princess, reared sons who took over as Chief of Nations along the Delaware Water Gap. They lived in peace with the residents of Stroudsburg, founded by Jacob Stroud in 1799.

The villages of the mountains raised buckwheat and rye, a big crop with potatoes, maze, oats, cattle, sheep, and hogs. Chief of his village as well as Chief of the Northeastern regional Forestry and Parks Services, Ranger Captain Glenn; like his, people are also members of the Northwestern Indian Confederacy in the Mountains of Pennsylvania, New York, and Canada. The tribal members are The Cree, The Creek, The Ottawa, The Seminole, The Huron, The Cherokee, The Algonquian, The Ojibwa, The Shawnee, and The Lenape Nations. Glenn continues his leadership in the protection of his people, their land, their tribal beliefs, and their heritage. Glenn’s mother was of Creek/Seminole descent while his father was the Tribal Chief of The Shawnee-Lenape (Munsee-Minisink) of Ontario Canada and the Poconos.

Willice Samuel’s family arrived up North from Georgia by way of Winnsboro, South Carolina. The family settled in Coatesville Pennsylvania, in or about April 1911. Willice’s Great-Great Grandfather talked about a lynching and burned at the stake murder of a Black Man by a mob of white men who wore masks. He said the Black Man; named Zachariah Walker was accused of shooting to death a white cop; named Edgar Rice. He was supposed to have been a special police officer in Coatesville. He went on to say, “The Colored Man was chased and treed in the woods in or near the Robert Faddis Woods near Youngsburg.

The Black Man tried to shoot himself in the head, but failed. They took the Black Man to the hospital were his injuries were treated. A gang of white men broke the window in the main hallway, corralled the police officer guarding him and dragged the Black Man from his sick bed to the Sarah Jane Newland Farm just to the right of the road and almost directly opposite the farmhouse. In a grass field about fifty feet from the road, they gathered dried Chestnut Rails and old fencing to build a fire. It took all of three minutes to get the fire up to a height of ten feet or more. They asked him if he had any last words…he didn’t. He was then thrown into the fire. The flames burned his clothes and seared his flesh – he managed to leap from the fire-pile and jump over a fence. They caught him and tied a rope around his neck and dragged him back onto the burning fire. Walker tried two more times to get out of the bonfire. He tried to get out of the seething furnace of hell. But he was beaten and pulled him back on the burning pile with each try.”

Great-Great-Grandpa continued on with the graphic details. “The sickening smell of burning flesh permeated the air. Folks came from all around to see and take pictures of the burning Black Man. They laughed and drank liquor. Their children had fun too. This all happened on or around Saturday April 12, 1911…we packed and moved to Philadelphia.” The Willice’s are descendants of America’s lucrative Industry of Black Slavery.

“The understanding of the racial question does not ultimately involve understanding by either Black or Indians. It involves the white man himself. He must re-examine his past. He must face the problems he has created within himself and within others. The white man must no longer project his fears and insecurities onto other groups, race, and countries. Before the white man can relate to others he must forego the pleasure of defining them.”

For the people of the ‘Americas’ the arrival of Columbus was hardly a blessing. On his first day, October 12, 1492, the explorer wrote in his diary – “I took some of the natives by force.” He later found the original inhabitants to be tractable, peaceable, and concluded ‘there is not in the world a better nation.” His response as a European was to say that Indians must be made to work and adopt our ways.

The Columbus whose unique seamanship opened the Americas to European penetration also began the transatlantic slave trade. He started by shipping ten chained ‘Arawak’ men and women to Seville, Spain. In 1498, he wrote enthusiastically to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella about the business possibilities. “From here, in the name of the blessed Trinity, we can send all the slaves that can be sold.”

When he loaded 1100 ‘Taino’ men and women aboard the four Spanish ships, the crowding and the stormy Atlantic crossing took a fearful toll. Only three hundred survived. But Columbus and Spain had decided to continue the profitable slave trade from the Americas. Seville became the slave capital of Spain.

Spanish Priests were the first to denounce the horrors of bondage. In 1511 Dominican Friar Montesino called slavery a mortal sin and said cruelty and tyranny over Indians could not be justified by Christians. A few years later Bishop Las Casas, who witnessed countless Indian massacres by his fellow Spaniards, blamed greed for the horrors.

“They kill them because they want to be rich and have much gold, which is their sole aim.” Las Casas concluded that in the New World Spaniards had become devils and Indians were the only true Christians.

Las Casas led a determined effort to halt Indian bondage. He pointed out that Indians died off by the thousands from slavery and European diseases. Forced labor in Spanish mines in the Americas was so harsh that the average worker died before he was twenty-six.

To meet their need for more laborers, Europeans looked next to Africa. The strongest sons and daughters of Africa were seized in their homes and fields or purchased from local traders. They were packed into cargo ships and shipped across the Atlantic.

“Children are torn from their distracted parents; parents from their screaming children; wives from their frantic husbands; husbands from their violated wives; brothers from their loving sisters; sisters from their affectionate brothers. See them collected in flocks, and like a herd of swine, they resist; but all in vain. No eye pities, no hand helps.”

The first Africans brought to the New World by European slavers probably arrived in April 1502 aboard the ship that brought the new governor of Hispaniola, Nicholas de Ovando. Soon after they landed, some Africans escaped to the woods and found a new home among the Native Americans. Later that year Governor Ovando sent a request to King Ferdinand that no more Africans be sent to the Americas. His reason was simple – “They fled amongst the Indians and taught them bad customs, and never could be captured.

Why did he feel they could never be retaken? Had the two peoples united as a military force at this early date? Were Native Americans prepared to drive off European slave-hunters? Was an alliance taking shape in the woods between two peoples who opposed the Spanish conquerors?

Governor Ovando described more than a problem of bad, untrustworthy servants. His words are more than a complaint about the difficulties of recapturing fugitives in a tropical rainforest. His words are the first hint of a growing problem for the European masters of the New World, the first notice of a new relationship budding beyond their control.

Africans arrived on these shores with valuable assets for both Europeans and Native Americans. They were used for agriculture labor and working in field gangs, something unfamiliar to most Indians. As experts in tropical agriculture, they had a lot to teach both white and Red people. Africans had a virtual immunity to European diseases such as smallpox, which wiped out Native Americans.

For Europeans seeking a source of labor that could not escape, Africans were ideal because they were three thousand miles from home. They could not flee to loved ones, as Indian slave could. African men and women who fled could always be identified by skin color, and Black became the badge of bondage.

Native Americans soon discovered that Africans had some gifts that made them uniquely valuable. Through their slave experience they qualified as experts on whites – their diplomacy, armaments, motives, strengths, and weaknesses. Escaped slaves came bearing knowledge of their master’s languages, defenses, and plans. Sometimes Africans were able to carry off muskets, machetes, or valuable gunpowder. For these reasons their role could be crucial to Native Americans, their place secure in village life. A common foe, not any special affinity of skin color, became the first link of friendship, the earliest motivation for alliance.

Next the two peoples began to discover they shared some vital views of life. Family was of basic importance to both, with children and the elderly treasured. Religion was a daily part of cultural life, not merely practiced on Sundays. Both Africans and Native Americans found they shared a belief in economic cooperation rather than competition and rivalry. Each people was proud, but neither was weighed down by prejudice. Skill,    friendship, and trust, not skin color of race were important. Since Indians willingly adopted people into their villages, Africans found they were welcome.

In the century following Columbus’s landing, millions of Native Americans died from a combination of European diseases, harsh treatment, and murder. Africans took their places in the mines and fields of the New World. The estimated 80 million Native Americans alive in 1492 became only 10 million left alive a century later. But the 10,000 Africans working in the Americas in 1527 had by the end of the century become 90,000 people.

These figures are even more striking within local areas. In 1519 when the Spaniards arrived, Mexico had a population of 25 million Indians. By the end of the century only a million were still alive. The invader calculated that more profit would be made if laborers were worked to death and replaced. In their plans pain and suffering did not count, and no cruelty was considered excessive.

Out of the shifting labor forces a new population emerged of mixed Africans and Native Americans. By 1650 Mexico alone had and African-Indian population of one hundred thousand. Anew race was being born.

In 1510 King Ferdinand, visions of gold dancing before his eyes, lifted all restrictions on sending Africans to the Americas. He promised to send all that were needed and include “a trustworthy person” to be in charge of each group – an overseer. In this way, slave and masters would “share in the gold they may collect” and slaves would receive “ease if they work well.” This was an idle dream.

The slave population expanded, but was never rewarded with ease for its great toil. European masters continued to drive those in chains as hard as they could. Ease only came when people escaped to the forests and swamps. Increasingly Africans and the remaining enslaved Indians fled their masters and created their own secret colonies beyond European eyes. In time these would pose the most disruptive challenge the European colonial system faced in the Americas.

In the age of Columbus and Las Casas this threat was not clear. Europeans counted their profits and kept importing African as slaves. “One Black can do the work of four Indians.” Here, he believed, was a danger worth the price. His fellow Europeans heartily agreed with him. From then on slavery would expand, brutality would keep it in place, and whites would reap enormous profits.
